God that was like the most depressing last line to a book ever. That book depressed me. I hated that book so much, but I loved it at the same time. Double plus good This. Did you think that Winston's varicose vein was totally pointless? I mean, he complained about it and then that was it. I didn't find any symbolic connections with it... I haven't read the book in a while, so I don't remember much about Winston's varicose vein. Google says it's symbolic of him looking for a purpose, though.

I think that having something to complain about made the character more believable.

Elemental Draconis Skaeryll Is it bad that when I think up games I frequently think up sequals?
Like I am thinking up a sequal to the other game I'm thinking up and it takes place 500 years later.
Skae, Paula, Zach, Hash and Xia are the only ones that would appear again.
Skae and Zach would be party members again. Xia a new party member.
It would also have a class system like FF3/5/X-2 They were thinking of making a sequel to Shrek before Shrek was even finished.
So, it isn't bad. You just need to make sure you have everything right in place to leave for a sequel at the end of the first game. xD
Idk how I could make a game look like it'll have a sequal when the next game takes 500 years before it takes place. xD

@ZK & Owwin: I think the vein also symbolized moments when Winston was under close surveillance by Big Brother, like during the exercise routines and such.
