Ka'rinth rose slowly from the floor and looked around the room slowly, his window was nearly closed again but he knew he was fortunate that the others slept so much as of late, he was still unsure however, of what they could have sensed that he had not. As he pondered this his eyes unfocused slightly and he mumbled, What better place to unleash a serpent, then a rabbit's den? As he finished speaking his head drooped and his eyes closed, it would appear as though he had fallen asleep standing up. That is, until his body began to writhe and his left arm disappeared into his coat. Serpentine eyes opened and looked around coldly as the writhing continued, fangs were suddenly visible as the scarf allowed itself to fall away from the man's face and rest around his neck while the end hung behind the now empty below the elbow left sleeve. A cold smile devoid of pleasure regarded the room as Serpent began to wait for something to occur.

Rintala couldn't sence things, like other people could, but she definately heard someone talk. She was stretching her right arm over her left shoulder as she glanced back at Ka'rinth. Pausing she turned to face him, a look of puzzlement on her face. "What ********?"

At Rintala's words Serpent's head twisted at an angle that would at best be called uncomfortable and at worse be called unnatural. A long forked tounge flicked out to scent the air and sharp eyes regarded her before a soft voice hissed. I remember you, you're the one that didn't like playing with the ball. Have you gotten stronger yet? It's no fun playing with people that are out after one counter attack. The words remained oddly dispassionate as Serpent's body turned so that it was facing her and his head returned to a normal position. The writhing within his coat continued unabated even as the scarf twitched slightly.

Sumara had fallen asleep where she was sitting untill now, she woke up and ayened. Her back hurt, but it was something that never suprised her, the skin around those cursed stones still was red and puffy somethimes. Sighing she stood up and stretched, and grabbed her bag as she left. "Time to go get those meds.." She mummbled to herself.

"What the...hell...are you?" She said, taking a few steps back. She spent most of her time hideing in the forests or sneaking around in the shadows, so she never got to see the demons and what not of other villages and cities. Quickly delving into herself she searched for the warmth of Ayndr. Panic struck her as she quickly remembered who this guy was. She wanted to ask him to train her, make her stronger, but right now all that she could think about was how much stronger he was then she was. Fumbling with her own power she barely managed to seize control of Ayndr. Pushing away the warmth of the life giving light and surrounding herself with stone cold power. She didn't want to fight him...at this point she didn't want to be within a hundred miles of this guy!

Serpent hissed in a sudden cold rage as he sensed the girl drawing on the strength of the earth in a manner that was improper. He suddenly began stalking towards her with his right hand held against his left shoulder and said, I am called Serpent, what I am is a part of a fractured soul and mind. What I am is a nature mage that has been trained to become my name sake. What we are is angry. What we are about to do is punish you for your transgression on the earth. As he spoke he continued forward, clearly something about how she drew on her power angered him.

"G-get...get away from me! I swear! I'll-" She didn't know what she'd do, she barely manage to find refuge in the saftey of her power! She couldn't even hope to actually fight this guy. She slowly began to back up, fear running through her veins like ice. At more then one point every single sound in the world disapeared, and only the violent throb of her heart beating was heard. Quivering with fear she continued backing up, for ever step he took she'd quickly take two back.

Serpent continued forward, completely prepared to back her into a wall in order to deliver a back handed slap to her face. His actions clearly indicated his anger yet there was no trace of recognizable emotion to his face. Cold eyes never moved from her center, it would seem as though he were regarding her without actually focusing on her.

When her back touched the wall she looked from side to side, hesitantly. Then without warning she lashed out. Fear was what made someone weak! Because they were weak they were afraid of those stronger then themselves. Because she was weak, she was afraid of him. That weakness spawned rage, and that rage was fed to something. Deep inside of her something primal fed upon her anger! Because she didn't know how to properly control her powers she was able to control it as well as some others might, but because of the way she drew upon her power, it would be considered far stronger then most people could amount too, especially in the short amount of time she had the power. Two pillars of solid stone lept from the ground outside, bent themselves, crashed through the wall on either side of Rintala and struck for Serpent.

Serpent's hand was a blur as it lashed out at her face, he was unconcerned with her manipulation of earth and only took note that she did not defend herself from the slap. As the two pillars of stone struck at Serpent they would simply pass through him as he used the same technique that allowed him to meld with the earth to partially meld with the pillars so that he was seemingly unaffected. Don't try to play games with the earth child, until you have respect for it and accept both sides of it you won't defeat me with these techniques.

The side of Rintala's face began to turn a bright red, where Serpent had smacked her. Her face was burning red, not completely from the smack etiher, but from embarrassment and anger. Who was he to treat her as such?! And to disregard her power like it was nothing. Rage continued to build up inside of her, burning hotter then fire. Again she lashed out all around Serpent pillars, no more then a foot in diameter(spelling?), struck for him. They surrounded him in a perfect circle, and were all aimed for different parts of his body. She saw the way he just melded with the earth, and wondered if she too could do that.

Serpent quickly tired of the attacks and simply twisted his aura so that the wood of the wall behind Rintala would shoot outward in a dozen blunt columns three inches wide at her back. As he continued standing with his aura warping the earth and his body to prevent the pillars from hitting him he said, Do you understand why I can do this? After the attack from behind her he would cease all form of attack and simply wait patiently for her answer.

Rintala staggered forward, almost bumping into Serpent but quickly catching herself and side stepping him. She was angry, angry that she wasn't strong enough, and angry that he was too strong! It took her several minutes to register the question...how could he do what? Beat the ever living hell out of her? Embarass her at every turn of futile struggle? "Because...you're too strong..." She said, more then angry with herself for admiting that she was weak, even if she did it indirectly. She lowered her head in shame, not even once glancing up at Serpent to defend against an attack. She was weak...she couldn't be strong like him. Everything she's done, all the hard work and training! It was all for naught. Her entire body began to shake in anger, and she thought she felt tears welling up in her eyes, but those were quickly pushed away. All the pain she'd endured, all the strength she had aquired! Nothing!!

Serpent shook his head at her and said, No, I meant can you understand how I'm dodging the attacks? I am far from strong, I grow weaker everytime another of us is absorbed. I will not share how I weaken but I will tell you this. You are not drawing on the full strength of the earth, from what I see you are focused only on one side of the earth's strength. You are unbalanced and that is making it possible for me to maintain an advantage. I bet using your anger you can't cause plants to grow, or manipulate much beyond mineral and metal. Even if the world is not good and evil, life and death, there is a balance to be found with most elements. Much like positive and negative for electricity, hot and cold for water, the earth does have a balance. Why use just one side? As he finished speaking he ceased his dodging and allowed several pillars to strike his chest with bone breaking force. Another hit his shoulder and spun him to his left before another took his legs out from under him. He sat there crouched on the floor seemingly ready to die.
