Finishing his coffee and getting another.
"they foudn some tapes not to long ago of a couple techs apparently deciding to have sex in one of the enclosures. Rennell is supposed to be giving us a voice analysis to find out whom. but I've got some guesses from the 'suddenly not around or sick' list.
'Actually I bet cognizance would adore it."
A chuckle and getting into the goop and picking up her tools.
"Lets start up at the neck and shoulder area, see if there's anyway we can work into the chest and spine areas without almost triggering a trap this time."
Going to work and not stopping her chatter.
"James and I are too close to date. We're practically family. it'd be more like if you and Erik started seriously dating. and I'm a woman, he's a man. I see things he doesn't so I say you have a healthy glow. so there."
Removing one plated section, and looking at the wiring.
"Well son of a b***h. looks like this wiring here is along the same type that we found before and they tied it into the others so reroute won't work. Camp, see if you can fins a route through the other side, if not we'll try the main neck."
picking up some other tools and loosening and removing a section of the chest.
"Hunting hmm? what's he hunting, and why is is suddenly more important then helping his girlfriend in a medical situation?"

"Sounds kinky and something more like the two of you would do. Oh well, someone beat you to a great idea. I wonder if I could get a hold of that footage."
"Hey who says I've been slacking. You have no faith in me James, I'm hurt. Really really hurt." Placing a hand over his chest where his heart was he gave a pout and a sniffle before sitting down with the other two. Though Joey got bumped in the shoulder by a wing. "Sorry, still getting used to being all shiney and new." But he cleared his throat. "I already emailed her their badge numbers."
Jelena wrinkled her nose at that. "I bet they would. And the thought of Erik and I dating is just gross. You know, back in school we kissed once. And then I promptly puked in his lap. We were both a little drunk but not drunk enough to not know that the kissing and stuff that goes with it would not have been a good idea." Leaning on a table of instruments though, looking them over. "Which proves that all men are wrong. Wonderful."
"Why are men always wrong even when we're right. Technically and biologicaly she's healthy yes but she looks like a train wreck. She could at least iron her labcoat."
"Ironing is boring. Besides, who do I need to look pretty for? It's not like I'm going to dinner or anything. You know...I don't even think I own dating attire." Shrugging. "I want Joey's hand and Joey won't give it up. And I would hardly call it a medical situation. More of a, 'you look like hell, let me check you over' once over. As the god-father, he likes to make sure I'm not infested with disease and the like."
Robert rolled his eyes and shook his head, "Impossible woman." And he turned his attention to helping Jessica out, taking apart what they could. "Looks the same over here...but you know I've been thinking. The way the wires are messed I wonder if we could lift them more and get under them. Sort of like a layer of muscle over bones. Logically speaking, most would cut or disconnect right through. We might as well try to take a different route. Less dismantle, more scopic invasive if you will. Us dismantling alone may be part of our problem."

glancing over at Rennell, before back to Joey.
"And who says they beat us to it? we just didn't get caught on a camera."
then back to rennell.
"Alright then here's a new method. we have to convince Jelena that I have severed Joey's hand off, or, convince her to not want Joey's hand anymore. Ideas?"
"what about James to look pretty for?"
giving a grin and then looking over the wiring again.
"It's layered in a manner that suggests muscle, but I'd hate to try and lift it up and sever something that sets that trap off. I want that CPU functional. we get ahold of that we can find out how this thing was all set up and all the mission parameters. they gotta hardwire all that stuff i, adn that's why these traps are all about shorting it out."
getting some other tools.
"But lets try it and see, second it looks lie it's going to sever though we try up through the neck into the jaw,"
before looking over at Jelena.
"I think after this we're going shopping. you and me."

"Now that would have been website gold. I may have died a horrible death of being thrown out an airlock and exploding in space but it would be worth it. And hey, I'd know how that woman was in bed. Always interesting."
"Okay...I walked into one hell of a conversation. But yeah, I've been good. I like playing detective. It's like a giant puzzle I get to figure out with soundwaves. Admittedly database access made it easier than I'd like but oh well." Blinking at them both again. "I don't think you can convince her of truth otherwise so you should go with the latter. Ever consider getting a coffee machine installed in yourself. I'm sure that would distract her." Giving an amused laugh before a light sigh. "There has to be something she wants more than Joey's hand. She's a woman, they always want something. Though what makes eccentric women happy aside from strange things, I couldn't tell you. Joey public humiliation perhaps?"

"Jess, the man has seen me practically dead. I think that normal me is pretty when it comes to such a scale. I don't even think he likes that done up pretty look...does he?" Yeesh, great. But she did gave a blink again. It was a bad day to have a day off. "Shopping? Is that going to be the part where you take me to get things that I'll feel all awkward in and what not in effort to pretty me up? I'd rather shop for volitale chemicals but I'm guessing I have no choice." She was a scientist, not a fashion model.
"I think you should let her pretty you up. Even if you do like that barely no makeup, labcoat, casual business wear, gravboots look." Chuckling at the face Jelena made before looking back to Jessica. "Ah yes my dear but do remember, I'm a surgeon first and a biotechnition second. I could most likely life the wires without severing anything, much like veins. Though at the same time...we need a place to short out that's not overly damaging so we can test the suspension we have him in as well. It should keep shorts from happening if we let it flood into his body and plating cavities some."
Moving around what could be in some way called a body to the head, using his tools to pry the jaw open and take a check inside with a little flashlight. "You know I was never comfortable looking into people's mouths. Seen too many horrible dental situations."

James gave Joey a look.
"you know, comments like that are not helping you keep your hand."
before glancing at Rennell.
"A coffee machine in me? she'd become surgically attached to my hip. although public humiliation might work. I have a better idea...we'll need Erik though. Joey, your going to lose your hand...in the most convincing way possible. live on tv."
putting a hand up.
"We'll get a clone of your hand, some special effects, big and bright."
Jessica looked over at her.
"Yes, we're gunna get you all prettied up. and if you argue anything again, I'm adding swimsuit shopping to the list and I'll insist on the skimpy stuff."
a slight smirk and back to thier work.
"Dental issues aren't with this guy though. I'd say short out the thigh area, that way we shouldn't have a problem."

"I'm single. I have to entertain myself somehow don't I?" However he gave another sigh and hung his head before shaking it. "And when she finds out that it's not really mine and comes after me with something even more blunt like a spoon, what then? Even you're going to be in the doghouse on that one."
"Then we could just call you both JJ. We'd at least know where she was all the time." He put up a finger. "I agree with Joey. I don't want to be around when she finds otu either. Especially when seh disects it to wear his bones as a trophy necklace and doesn't find such."
"This is the part where I would argue," crossing her arms and huffing, "but you've outdone me this time. I warn you now though, I don't do well in heels." So back to poking at jars and contemplating which part she wanted to throw out an airlock first when she was allowed to. And a snack. She was hungry again.
"Yes but still. It's just not pleasant. But fair enough, you short that out and I'm going to see if I can point anything out in this guy." Thusly it was fiberoptic camera getting snaked into the man's body. "And make sure you take pictures when you shop Jessica. May be a once in a lifetime opportunity."

"well...then it's back to convincing her to not want your hand or severing it anyway and getting you a new bioware one."
James gave a slight grin.
"any other ideas?"
Jessica chuckled.
"I wouldn't put you in heels. at least not high heels. but you could do with as few nice dresses and such. something fancy. oh and a pedicure and a manicure and a spa treatment...hmm. we might make a day outta this."

Rennell rolled his eyes. "You're just as bad as her. I got one. If his hand is bioware then she can't painfully twist it to get what she wants out of him like she loves to do."
Jelena was still pouting. "I like pants..." They were going to make a day of this? That was going to be a whole day without coffee and donuts wasn't it? However she didn't think she couldn't weasel her way out of this. Jessica would probably drug her and drag her along anyway. "Fine...no pink. I hate pink."
"Alright Lena, you're distracting Jess with girly things. Why don't you go eat a sandwich or something. You look like you could use one. But no coffee...ever think the reason you can't sleep is because you're downing a gallon or more of coffee?"
"Don't go blaming the coffee. It's innocent." But a sigh, "You know how to get hold of me Jess...I'm going to torment some other people. Or short out gravity."

Jessica grinned lightly.
"Yes, I know how to find you, and if not I'll get james to find you."
before going back to work, and then shortting out the thigh, before adusting the levels for stability.
"Heavy still when it's solidly dead weight and at least it didn't set anything off. anything of note on the scopic?"
James sighed lightly.
"Alright joey I'll make you a deal. the day you actually sacrifice your hand to Jelena, I'll have a coffee machine installed."
before glancing at Rennell.
"that might work. flesh stuff does bend much easier then metal."

"This stuff absorbs pretty well. We at least wouldn't get shocked." Another plus of working with suspension, didn't have to worry too much about breaking beds and what not. "Well...pretty much nothing biological in here left. Maybe here and there." Turning the monitor he had been watching so she could see as well. "How much line do we have on this thing? I'd really like to run this thing as far as it will go." And since he had another one to work with as well he took to the chest cavity Jess had already opened, expertly lifting meshed wires and working the tiny cable bound camera under. "See if we can get something this way too. I'm starting to think this guy is like a giant circuit board."
"I'd take that deal Joey. You can always try to woo her with things to make her leave you alone for a few days, but you can't do that if you let her have what she wants. She'll walk all over you." Grinning then to James as he was clearly mocking the other, "Besides, she'd be much more satisfied with repeatedly tormenting him than just the one time of lopping his hand off."
"Everytime she gets coffee from me, I'm going to start drugging it. You're both making me paranoid. But fair enough deal to take. I want to keep my hand and you don't want to be a walking coffee pot."

Giving a slight smirk to Rennell.
"Ever thought I might have had plans for Joey's upgrade to be used and placed in obtrusively? and may I remind you that half the reason certain people haven't taken away your tags, again, is because of myself on your behalf? after all it is an awfully strange habit for a dog to suddenly feel the need to carry around trees in her mouth, now isn't it. one could almost think someone was trying to teach her to fetch."
Jessica gave a frown.
"I wish. I could have figures out how to bypass him if it was that simple. and we got fourty feet of it. we've had to feed it through Rennell's wings once when there was a clog in the nanoites in his blood. and to feed it through nearly his entire wing structure one end to the other little buggers were trying to close off a juncture because of a technical error, and we only had one way in which was through the other wing to scope with."
feeling through the wiring in the chest and tapping the artificial heart with her fingers lightly. yep still kicking.
"We fixed that mess first chance we got. simple bad plannign since the original use for the design was more like a backpack setup. they just didn't make that alteration when they adjusted it for meta to be an ingrained wingset."
tracing along the jawline and open mouth with a flashlight in her mouth and a small touch pen that looked for live currents.
"If he's like a big circuit board, then we should find the main coolant system. shut it off, and it'll threat the system...they have to have some failsafe so that the trap wouldn't make him worthless if that part got nicked. Overheating would require repair services to it, and that would be invasive since we haven't really found it yet I'm assuming it's in more sensitive areas too."
looking over at him.
"Repairing that would mean working around and with the CPU, so they'd have to be able to work with it and that means stopping the booby trap. which means it'll shut itself off, or we'll know there's some kind of passcode access for it. which then means there's a data entry point, and James can crack it for us when we find it."

Back to searching and feeding the camera, watching the monitor. "Well with that much we'll just go as far as we can. Logically someone would place such important structure in either a very compact place, a spacious place, or a place that will get enough feed through. So a coolant system would either be in the cranium, the chest cavity, or the abdomen. That is assuming that someone knows this and thus would tuck it away elsewhere to protect it."
Doing this without just laying the man open was the hard part. They could barely find what they wanted with the mess of wires. "Every technical piece of equipment, implanted in a organic body or othewise, has a data entry port of some sorts. That was half the reason Jelena's spine deteriotated so soon. I didn't take the time to install everything needed, just the parts that were going to keep her alive and let her walk. Her bioware got initial programming and synced to her, but it didn't have the capability to change with her from updages and such that the mechanics themselves would need."
A tilt of his head at the monitor as the main passage he was using split off. "I think we should start an optical body map if we're going to be branching off. Give us something to look back to and know where we've been and what's there and not there."

Jessica hit a couple buttons on the display. and it started mapping when the scope was going and had been.
"the chest cavity and abdomen are likely to take hits, so I would guess it's in the cranium area. the heavier plating in the back and spine area suggests that might be a place to try too."
a small wipe of her forehead, nevermind smearing nano goo on it.
"And it would be cheap. use the spinal fluid and fluid around the brain to circulate like a nitro cooling system. prolyl be easier as well then getting a formula that'll work adn not deteriorate the organs."

"Sounds the most plausible. Would be a trip of appropriate length and build to allow sufficent cooling as well before routing back into the systems." Continuting to watch, "Because there's really nothing in here but fluid passage and electricity conductors and triggers for the systems and wires. Alright then, if that's the theory, let's flip him and start cracking."

James gave a slight grin.
"Not that I would yet. since it seems she's trying to replant them more to her liking. like she's working on a nest or denning instinct, and the new cavern setup we got isn't working for her for some reason."
"Alright then. One, two...three."
And flipping him over in the goop, showing off the neavier plated and layered back and the back of the cranium.
"alright, I'll start at the head, you start at the spinal base, we'll work our way to the middle."
