has the republic's A-wings caught up to the tie defender in terms of speed?

I had always assumed the Tie Defender was as fast as an Interceptor, if not a tad slower.

believe it or not, it was even faster than the a wing, when it came out. but since it was so limited, i wonder if it was updated as much as the A-wing.

It probably had a limited production run. they were expensive toys to make and I doubt many upgrade kits were made for them.

right, very limited. only given to officers. but i wonder, since they spent so much on them, why not keep them up?

but then, i doubt the remnant has the funds for the upkeep of such a ship. i think NR A-wings are prolly faster by now... thereby making them the fastest fighters in the galaxy, to my knowledge.

i dunno. the only ship that i know has been constantly upgraded is the X-wing.

well yeah around their worlds they would. probably keep them in back up. but I imagine they fell out of service with the vast majority of the republic.
