"He should have to pay for what he did." She was going to be adamant about that. No one messed with the D'vinn-Inthara family and got away with it. It just didn't happen. She glanced around and then located Kronos, realizing that Savvy didn't know him. "This is Kronos, he was most helpful with the disaster that occurred. Kronos, this is my dear friend Savryn Silverfeather D'vinn and her companion Chylithair the falcon." She turned back to Savvy and quirked an eyebrow. "So you are completely free of suspicion?"

He caught that trailing off in his son's voice...he had just never mentally fully recovered from that. A raise of his own tail and he poked his son in the chest with ease, not even having to shift the rest of his body in the slightest bit. "You'll find that when it comes to tails...in one form strength is what makes them useful, and in this more common form that we keep, it is in the precision." Though these days, the dragon-folk weren't in thier dragonic forms too much...did make wasteland travel a breeze though. Letting his tail drop back behind himself lightly.
"Wise decision Kaznec. Better to give what they do not have but may get at a more costly means, than to merely add more coin to thier pockets or weight to thier bags." He got those descision skill from his mother. Lycear had been brash in his younger years. "I think it would be a fine gesture if you wish to put it forth indeed."
"He'll pay, don't worry." Little smirk at that one. An Inthara, much like D'vinn, never let anything go if they felt the offense warrented thier attention as thus. A chuckle and shake of her head. "You meet new people and get along with them everywhere you go. It's humbling almost." A nod at introductions, though she didn't look at him. "Yes, I am free of any suspicion, and the whole city shall be informed. No worries, we're safe from a mob or whatever like that."

And he hadn't didn't see the tail coming, but tried to move himself and try a little tail to tail combat with his father before letting it drop. "Precision is only helpful if you put it to good use. I was at the square helping clear the scene and I could barely lift one of the fallen stone pillars. It was embarrassing..." A shake of his head though, looking back over to Lycear with golden eyes. "Thank you, father. I will pass on the invitation to them later. There are a few more empty guest rooms at the house, it would put them to good use. Besides, people are running repairs all through the city. Things are going to be hectic for the next week or so, I think." And then, he had a thought. "Are you planning to do anything about that human captain?"

"Embarassing? But think of it this way...if you lack precision, then you would of dropped that pillar anyway and right on your tail and you would of yelped like a child. Anyone would. Now wouldn't that be more embarassing?" Lycear did have a flare for pointing out how things could be worse. It was undecided if that was a good skill to have or not.
A slight not. "They need some good use." They did have more than enough room. Though a perk up at his son's question then. The boy did ask the moste useful questions didn't he? "You mean other than ignore him picking my pockets deeper than I know he needs? Pirates are so hard to pull truths frome...I think it may just be better to glance his way from time to time...for the time being at least. Ilindal is my biggest concern at the moment."

Shifting on his feet, he moved to one of the chairs and took a seat, fixing his the straps on his gloves. "Yes, I suppose. Sometimes the situations could just be better if I wasn't so... different. There's talk among the ranks too, not a lot but a few comments do catch my ears sometimes." All in all, the Ilindal Guard was a united entity but you always had the minor few who deviated from the norm. "It just frustrates me that we have no secure evidence with which to condemn him with. But you are right, we should focus more on the city's wellbeing itself. I plan to meet with our honored guest later to discuss search plans." Recalling a thought. "She also wanted to see the list of guards that were on duty the day the Orb disappeared."

A look away from the window, turning fully to watch his son as he sat down and also expressed that which bothered him. Lycear personally didn't like when he pitted himself among the rest of thier kind. "Come now...you're not the only one of us with a flaw of sorts. You're not that different...and if you won't take that as an answer...well then remember that your difference was made not in your own vanity. You were doing right things at the time."
Slight frown though. "Any talk should be duely stifled none the less. Not because you are my son, but because you are thier commander and they should respect that. I'll have no desention in the ranks." There was simply no need to have that around right now. But another nod as his thoughts turned with his son's. "Just remember one thing about pirates Kaznec...when in Ilindal, that are under our ways. But good to know you will be planning soon." A blink. "Hm..." Walking over to a bookcase, seemingly counting and reading spines before pulling one down and flipping through pages. Yes the things were from years ago, but you didn't throw out records. Walking back to Kaznec he handed him the open ledger. "This is it."

Caden had to think that offer over and shook his head a little. "No way could I make that deal, I know I'm good at what I do but I know my limits and you are pretty well pass them after watching you fight. Besides Commander Kaznec would have a fit if he found out I made a bet like that and lost." So he went about helping people, scribbling down names and he even had a guard checking back with his friend on the ideas for the new foundations that would be put in soon; he needed to keep an eye on everything that was going on.
But after a nice chunk of time went by he heard a familiar voice and looked off to his left to see the elf he arrest yesterday, seemed like she was let go now that she was walking the streets so that meant he had something to do. With a small sigh Raynes paused for a moment before walking over, when the elves realized he was there he gave a small nod and turned to the elf he came to see. "Hello, I can tell that with you walking the streets that the charges against you have been dropped, and in return I said I would apologize for the way I treated you based on the fact that I had little to go on when I arrested you. So I'm sorry for the arrest and any inconvenience that you had afterwards, I am glad to see you are innocent of the crime and are allowed to walk the streets again." He did hope that the elf would take his apology in the best way, though now that the whole thing was said and done he turned his attention to Shyrae. "Any other casualties that I should make a note of?"

Fathers were not only good to learn from, but also to offer comfort in the most non-condescending way possible. Kaz appreciated that a lot. It wasn't often that he bared his thoughts out into the open. "Yes, that is some comfort..." A solemn look though. "Honestly, they are not to blame. The Orb's disappearance has only caused the protectors of the city even more stress. The legions are afraid and apprehensive, and having a seemingly less than competent commander does not fare well with those emotions." Taking the ledger from his father's hands, he glanced through it briefly and nodded. "Thank you. This is exactly the first step that I need to take to bring trust and pride to Ilindal again."

"At the same time, you cannot excuse them. Yes the stress levels are on a rise these days, but at the same time...if they cannot control themselves in a state of rest, then how are they dependable enough to know that they will control themselves when they are presented with a vent for thier stress?" Shaking his head lightly. "Strength has never made a warrior alone. Has to have a mind to match. When we forget we folly." Tapping on his broken horn at that one. Example anyone?

Nodding once again. Always learning from his father, more politics and whatnot but it was helpful. "Perhaps the recruitments have been too lax in recent years, since we were at a high demand for guards." The search missions had needed them, and god knows how many had perished in the natural disasters Mother Nature kept sending their way. "Of course, best of two worlds." He glanced up at the broken horn and swallowed hard. He wasn't the only one in the room who'd had mistakes to live through.

Hunter threw the head overboard, and let the body lay on the deck, cutlass bared and bloody.
"anyone else thinking about mutiny?! Anyone at all? come on, don't be shy."
wiping blood from his face from a slight cut, and neverminding the stab wound to his left arm. the body was missing a hand and had several gashes on it's torso.
"this is my ship. my word is the law here. and if I say we're going someplace, we're going. I don't care the perceived dangers from you little ungrateful whelps!"
wiping off the blade, and glaring at the helmsman.
"Draktoa Roost. that's your heading, and I know the course. if you deviate from it I swear by the sands you'll be joining this wormbait!"
then to the rest of the crew, swinging the cutlass haphazardly and forcing some to back up lest they get injured.
"Dispose of that and get to work! I want more of those shiny rainbow glass peices. get me those and any other prizes we find go to the crew. gold, weapons, clothes, jewels...just get me those rainbow shards."

Broken horn indeed, at least half as short as the other one and broken off at an odd angle too. His constant reminder of his son's mother and his folly there. Seeing that his son had gotten the message, he dropped his talon from it's tapping and lightly crossed his arms, his wings shifting a moment before the joint claws settled on his shoulders again. Lycear was one to point out something or teach a lesson and then let it go, not drill it in over and over. "Mmm, maybe it is time to weed out some? Give thsoe that want out, thier opportunity and see where to go from there, perhaps."
Lycear sighed, shaking his head lightly. "But enough talk of such things. They make a man weary for both our ages. Besides, you are about to embark on a remarkable task that is a once in a lifetime opporunity. I would hate to think you tired out from old dragon tales and briefings." Walking over to rested his hands on his son's shoulder, but careful of his own wings. "You will do fine, I know you will. But you can not doubt yourself on what you believe are short comings if you are to do this task with sound resolve."

"I just don't like to cause trouble." She glanced at the humans and shook her head, "I relate so much better to animals." Caden's apology caused her eyebrows to raise though she merely stayed silent and let him give it. She hadn't expected one but it would have been nice to have one. "Three in total. The boy, a girl, and an older man presumed to be the girl's father. You are taking the report to Kaznec?" Shyrae was not doing so hot inside though. She'd never studied runes long enough to use them at will and her mother's healing was only the basics. She could not save the boy, but her mother probably could have.
A man came over, badly injured and there was blood everywhere. She cleaned him up as best she could with the few supplies she had and then went to healing him. A strange feeling in her face caused her to groan. Sure enough she'd caused herself a nose bleed and it was going to get worse if she didn't stop. But she was almost done. Wiping her nose and turning so Caden couldn't see and Savvy couldn't smell it, she went back to healing the man.

"And yet you can be the worse trouble. Ironic, no?" Giving a smirk...Savryn didn't laugh much. Or at least not in a coniving way or giggles. A slight turn in Caden's direction and she waved a hand dismissively of his apology. "Well didn't that just sound so forced and protocal. Good memory there boy." And mean as ever Savryn. Cranky disposition. Savvy signed lightly, shifting her weight and raising a hand to pet at Chylithair. "Well then, once you're done playing healer, we need to re-establish ourselves.

Kronos had to admit that he was more then a bit disappointed about the fact that the offer for the fight was turned down. But on the other hand, he wasn't really prepared to honor that bet, even at his age he had a nasty habit of opening his mouth without thinking first. "Eh, your probably right, I don't know what I would do if I lost, you shouldn't downgrade your skills that much." he said to Caden, turning he continued to work on those that were injured as best he could.
He could not help but notice the severely bleeding man as he made his way towards Shyrae. He cocked an eyebrow, for a moment he thought he saw a small trickle of blood run down her nose. But upon further inspection, found that he was wrong. But, Shyrae had spiked his interest, and he had something he wanted to ask.
Making his way slowly to her, never one to approach someone to abruptly, he spoke to her once he was within earshot. "You wouldn't happen to be from another plane, would you?" The question had come out of the blue, and was rather blunt and forward, but such was his nature.
