Kaleb pushed himself up so he could sit with his back to the bed, and quietly waited for Riley to pass him the water and painkillers. Maybe he would crawl back into bed after all, at least until they kicked in.

He handed Kaleb the pills and the water and sat down on the bed. It would be easier if Kaleb got back into bed since he was pretty sure the pain killers would make him sleepy anyway.

Kaleb was able to down both the pills in one gulp, but he drank the rest of the water anyway. Hopefully after that he wouldn't get too thirsty before he was willing to get up again. He crawled back into bed without really getting up, and burrowed under the covers to wait on the medication.

He flopped back onto the bed and curled up around Kaleb. He knew the mage would go to sleep again and he'd be able to get more sleep too. Resting his muzzle on his partners neck he sighed happily.

After a few minutes Kaleb slowly started to relax against the pillows. "What kind of painkiller did you give me?" he asked in a drowsy voice, stirring slightly and turning his head to look at Riley.

"Best stuff i got." His voice was slightly muffled with sleep as he tried not to yawn. "Works wonders"

"It's made me really sleepy," Kaleb protested weakly. He was too small to avoid many side effects, and whatever Riley gave him had hit him hard. The little mage couldn't even keep his eyes open.

"Told ya sleep is good." He snuggled closer and yawned. "So just go back ta sleep cause yu'll feel better if ya sleep though the head ache rather than tryin ta fight it"

Kaleb struggled a bit. "You didn't give me sedatives instead of painkillers, did you?" he asked, sounding somewhat alarmed.

"But it's not... nighttime!" Kaleb protested, in between yawns. He should have been up and doing things, not laying around in bed all morning. It was really going to mess up his sleeping schedule.

Kaleb twitched a bit, but he was too out of it to react more than that. He drifted off to sleep in no time at all after that, and didn't even drool on the pillows this time.

He was glad for the lack of more drool on his pillow and went back to sleep not long after Kaleb was gone.

The little mage didn't so much as shift in his sleep, and he still hadn't stirred a few hours later. The medication had put him right out.
