Sand thinger The creature that had attempted to get the drop on Vahn, now swung it's scythe downwards in a reknewed attempt at slicing into Tellus' back. "No sense of humor at all" And again, her polearm went up. She wasn't so stupid as to leave her back unguarded, despite her humor. She twisted with her weight, pulling the scythe out of the creatures hands. "HEADS UP!!" Seeing as the thing would go flying at about head level. Jerking her maki down, she swung wide and into the creature, slicing it in two and watching it go poof into a cloud of sand, like the other. "What a day at the beach." Something was just a little off about her humor. She couldn't control her powers yet she was laughing as if she was having a grand ole time and not fighting for her life. confused

The worthless rock that orbitted around Brass shot away in all directions. It seemed he was going to have to do this the hard way afterall. "Damn..." He walked across the unstable ground underneath untill he came across of of the deep holes made by the rock he summoned from the ground. The last thing he wanted to do was venture down deep into the recesses of the volcano, the heat really wouldn't be a problem. But, the volcano was active, his control of the earth element would be useless if it decided to blow and lastly, he just didn't feel like going down there. "Gotta do, what ya gotta do." And with that he sighed deeply and dived, face first, into the hole and down into the heart of the volcano some hundreds of feet below.
As Brass silently freefell down the volcano, he saw a familar orange color light. He instantly figured out what it was summoned rocks underneath him, then just before his body was burnt to a crisp by the insanely hot magma, the rock 'broke' his fall he he floated back away from the magma. "Now I know what hell feels like." he lamented as he summoned another magical cooling wind that was the only thing from burning him up in the raging inferno. However, he couldn't let the magma stop him from his goal, which, it just so happens, was within his line of sight. There it was, no more than a few yard away from him, the precious gem he had been sent here to get. And a large amount of it was too, the whole thing was about the size of a small bicycle. He'd never be able to carry it all away. Just then an idea came to Brass' mind. The large deposit of gems suddenly began to shake as he used his earth element magic to pull it away from the volcano.
As the gem pulled itself away from the volcano, that was when the tremors began. "Uh-oh." The deposit of the rare gem floated over to Brass and settled on the rock he floated on. The magma level in the volcano began to raise and Brass began to worry. It was about time he got out of here. Floating on his rock, gems at his side, Brass began to quickly fly out of the volcano at top speed through the hole he had made. However, the tremors sents down a rain of rocks that were too many for him to focus one. The stones rained down upon him, destorying the rock he was flying on and sending him down into the magme below. "Gah!" he yelled out as his arms wrapped around the large piece of gem he had worked so hard to collect. As he fell down towards the magma, the sea of molten rock parted so that his body didn't touch the melted rock. Yet again though, things went heywire and the magma that had parted began to close in all around his form as he used the gem to float on. Eventually his mind grew tired on the strain of keeping the gem afloat the pushing back the ever growing wall of magma. And before the molten rock wash over his body and the gem he yelled out. "Personal Encasing!"

I think Tell is right... you guys need to get out more often... check out the local comedy club or something blaugh twisted *She stepped out and down dipping into a crouch as she swiped the razor sharp curved edge of the fan out at the nearest thingy... Hono was not really sure what the heck they were supposed to be...* xp
The creature returned the favor, trying to skewer the little red head with its spear, trying to rely in its longer reach over her, and likely underestimating the comical appearance of the fan like weapon....
*Always ready to take advantage of the situation, Hono happily sliced the haft right off the spear that was headed towards her with a flick of her wrist, a slight squeal of metal on metal as the fan blade did its job and the spear was suddenly two feet too short to get the job done as another flick of her wrist sent the blade deep across the monsters abdomen and it did it's poof trick in her face* stressed bleck... what a drag... I got all dressed up to play in the sand box? evil
*She hopped back to a standing position again looking for her next dance partner as she drew her dagger, the wind that had been stirring up on its own playing with her long red ponytail as she mentally tried to persuade it to help her out instead of hindering her friends* stare

His ear twitched at Tellus' warning, but instead of ducking he fully caught the spinning scythe as it pinwheeled towards him. He moved it once around his hand to get a better grip and tucking away his own weapon just in time to hastily block another swing from the creature he'd swiped in the head.
It was obvious that a bladed weapon would be more useful to him at the moment, the weight was differant, but the effect...this time the creature wasn't so lucky as to keep it's head.
Sun straightened and rubbed the back of his hand across his nose, eyes catching where his companions were quickly.
"Try not to get split up! We-" The world suddenly went dark as with a scream one of the creatures dove towards him from the air, it must have lept from behind. Sun barely had time to throw the scythe in his hands upwards for a block and was slammed into the ground as the weight and gravity worked in the creatures favour. The curved blade slid off the block and landed inches from Sun's kidney, a small slice through skin wetting the blade with his blood.
He faired better then the thing however, the buisness end of his own scythe had met the face of it as it had landed, and the weight was suddenly lifted off Sunstrike as it turned back to dust.

A quick look helped him to determine the positions of everyone.
The doors leading up to Babel weren't that far off... but they weren't exactly gaping open either.
He didn't see any more approaching either, so it was safe to say these things were just here to gauge the group.
"Dammit all!!"
He brought his sword downwards, in a smashing cleave, sundering another of the sand reapers in twain. The shrieks were starting to get annoying, and the more they sounded out, the more it felt like his head was going to blow.
"Sun--!?" He gave a glance towards the redhead, even as Tellus' laughter made him freeze in place.

*Deep within the heart of the garden pulsed a strong beat of energy. Each pulse of power was like the note to a song as an enchanting voice sang in a foreign tongue... a tongue of ancients and of earthen poetry.
The verse drifted on the wind, faintly echoing as a breeze carried it through the tower. The very words themselves were power.
While the flora and fauna about her were an emulation, they were still alive. This whole garden was alive... alive with the power of gaia.
The eerie elven chant seemed to grow in strength and tempo, as a woman with ankle length, crimson hair danced amidst the greenery. The emerald carpet of vegetation about her graceful figure, was a lush compliment to the ruby of her hair.
The woman's eyes flashed a luminous gold as she danced, a fan held and poised in each hand. Every movement beautiful in it's fluidity. Her gown of black and gold braided silk flowed about her body in it's sleekness, the slitted skirt guaranteeing that her movements went unhindered.
She danced and sang in a trance like state... the power about her being swelling with every word and gesture...
It had been some time since Victor had secured Ra'kar's position as the dominant soul within the elf maiden's body. And now... they had guests arriving... guests whom they had been awaiting with eager anticipation. And now that they were here... She was going to deliver a powerful performance...*

Tellus just kept laughing as another one attacked, ducking down and pivoting as she swung wide to slice the feet from him and then crossing her arms so it then slashed down on him.
"Mewehehe" The sound of her laughter just a little more creepy coming from the girl. Her black hair seemed spun with silver hairs now, like streaks of silver and black, it was a very odd thing.

what the hell...? eek *a shudder raced up her spine as she slowly glanced at Tellus, the girl was going off the deep end and now was soooo, not a good time for this...As hono was reminded of that face buy the down stroke of another scythe almost caught the elemental off guard and she had to lean back off balance to keep from being sliced in half as Vahn's first opponent had been, a thin slice across her chest showed through the red material of her tight top and she yelped and back pedaled another step before bringing her fan up into a better guard and putting Tellus out of her mind for another moment* scream Hey... you have any idea how much that shirt cost me? It was a designer label... evil *hono growled softly trying to dodge the next swipe of the scythe as she spun on her right heel in towards the monster with a growl* I knew I shouldn't have gotten all dressed up.... stare *a thin line of blood ran down the edge of the cut to disappear against the material of her top, as hono spin and swiped with the fan, a shriek of metal on metal as she turned another swipe of the scythe with the flat of the fan blade, using her weapon as a shield before frustration drove her to simply flip her dagger in her hand and another flick of the wrist sent the weapon spinning through the air at the monster, a spray of rainbow sparkled dancing through the air as the light went through the crystal. The blade buried itself hilt deep in the chest of the monster, and Hono used a mental command to call the dagger back to her hand as the thing dispersed to sand again* Tellus... get a grip girl, we do not have time for this..... sweatdrop

The chain of volcanoes along the Land of Pain all began to rumble violently as the main volcano began to come to life with the beginnings of an eruption. The fauna of the volcanoes all ran deparatly for their lives, they all knew what these trembles meant, they had experienced them many times before. Soon the main volcano erupted with the impossible force of 100 atomic bombs, it blew its' top to pieces and instantly vaporized any creatures that may have been dumb enough to have stayed near its' top in a blast of super-heat steam. The eruption caused the land to shake continuously, steam, ash, lava and rocks bellowed out of the volcano. The skies overhead were quickly tainted by a greyish-black mask of ash that covered the lands and easily blocked out the sunlight causing a shadow to fall over the lands. However, in all of this chaos, one might wonder what happened to the man that had dived down into the volcano before the eruption?
As the volcano continue to spew ash and whatnot out of its' over-sized mouth, a small, almost unnoticeable glimmer of light shone through the dust. As the light flew quickly from the smoke and ash the covered the skies. A normal person would not have ever been able to tell what the ash covered object that flew through the darkening skies was, but there was one person who did and he was that object. This isn't good. Brass thought as his crystal form shot through the skies far above the dunes and volcanoes below at an unbelieveable speed. It seemed in a last ditch effort to save his life Brass had used his Personal Encasing attack against himself, thus it turned him into a unbreakable crystal statue. He even still held onto his gem deposit he had worked so hard to obtain. Let's hope I hit something soft. He thought as he continued to travel a great distance through the sky before he finally began to decend back towards the sands below.
Brass sighed inwardly as he finally crashed, headlong, into one of the sand dunes thousands of feet below. As the sand that had been blast into the air by Brass' rough impact began to settle back onto the dune it called home, the sand opened like the mouth of some sort of sand beast. The hole then shot out out and pillar of sand that on top of stood a quite ash-faced, smokey looking Brass, returned from his crystal form. His eyelids fluttered slightly and the pillar of sand broke away and he crashed onto the soft sand below. The whole incident in the volcano had exhusted his body and he didn't have enough strength to focus his powers on keeping the sand pillar up. He rolled onto his back and sighed, the gem deposit began to resurface from the sand below. It seemed it had broken into much smaller pieces thanks to the crash.
As Brass laid there in the sand regaining his energy, a terrible thought crossed his mind and he leaned up and patted his sides. His map, his only means of escaping his hell hole had been destoryed during the eruption. "Which means I'm stuck in his hell hole...." He looked around at the landscape that was laid out before him in regret. Nothing but sand reached out as far as the eye could see.

Suddenly it wasn't one of the scythe monsters that reached for Tellus. A human hand slammed into the pole of her weapon, catching it with a loud smack and lifting it hard upwards, causing the girl to dangle a few inches off the ground. Angry eyes bore into hers.
"She's right, Leviathan...CONTROL IT!!!" And Sunstrike threw her back, not hard enough for her to lose her balance, but enough to maybe jar her senses, as a scythe swept between the two.
The other hand brought the blade around and decapitated the monster, through it all he didn't lose eye contact with the girl.

He merely stood off to the side, arms folded across his chest.
"...."
He had no say in the quarrel, even as the last of the monster's fell apart to be so much dust; Raven had been the one who just kept on fighting.
So there they were... the four of them.
And already something was wrong.
"...We don't have time for this."

A long drawn shudder went through Tellus after she fell backwards. "I am controlling it...someone interferred." She pointed up towards the tower. "I think someone is using some VERY strong earth magic, lover" the last word slipping out in an almost purr at Sunstrike.
Her fingers went through her interestingly colored hair and she smiled over at Vahn. "No, we don't. Shall we continue?" Bowing and waving her arms to indicate the tower. "After you, uncle."
