Opening his eyes, Shinichi's hand reached up to his jaw. Somehow he had taken 3 direct punches to that spot and it still wasn't broken. The boy reached out and clutched a handful of grass. He had to keep going, but his body could not take anymore. Finally admitting the truth, he pulled himself on his feet and took a good glance at the training area, then at his wounds. At this rate, Shinichi would need at least a day of rest before contining. He furrowed his brow in frustration at thsi weakness and slowly started the walk home. Maybe he would stop at a ramen shop for some food, too.

After some rest, Kohki was ready to move on to the next step. The clone explained it and then, they proceeded to it.
Kohki took his stance, and the clone as well. The clone attacked.

He had failed the taijutsu, and received a punch in the stomach.
...this is going to be harder than I thought... he thought as he stood up.
He signaled the clone to attempt it again, he didn't feel so bad, he thought he could try again.

Once again he had failed, and that last punch hurt more than the first one.
He stood up.
" I think I've had enough for today..." he told the clone quitely.
The clone just smiled and waved at him.
Kohki waved back and then, exited the training grounds.

Drakyn missed the clone, but at least managed to avoid being hit. He cleared his mind and relaxed as the clone made to attack him again.

He must have relaxed too much, as the clone's attack hit him dead on. He grimaced then recovered. He would have to do better than that to get through this....

Drakyn dodged nicely, but his counterattack just barely missed. He prepared him self again as the clone attacked again in it's usual manner.

He returned to the same training ground the next day, injuries taken care of by a relative. Shinichi waited as another water clone was summoned, this one looking even more dangerously harmless than the last. Its hair seemed to flow better than his own, even the gentlest wind blowing it across the deceptive face. He wasn't going to fall for that again! Shinichi did some warm up exercises, then faced the clone, same determination to succeed refueled. They both bowed and the clone stoood for a moment without moving. Then, it slammed a fist at his stomach, hands curled in the exact same fashion.

Shinichi flinched, then doubled over, the clone having struck the same spot from yesterday. Somehow he managed to stay on his feet, hands planted on the clone's shoulder's to prevent himself from falling. Failure was not an option! The clone merely blinked at the unconventional touch, but did nothing. Pushing off of the water beast, Shinichi situated himself upright and found his composure again. The pain easily spread to the rest of his lower chest, slowly infecting his entire midsection, just like yesterday. None of that mattered; It was all a part of training. He looked the clone directly in the eyes, daring it to come at him again.

He felt the rock hard water fist of doom strike his shoulders, a hand instinctively rising up to nurse the wound. Shinichi leapt back, feeling the spot to see if any damage had been made. None at all, just another one of the numerous bruises he would be feeling tomorrow. The water clone smiled ridiculously and advanced, running up with a high punch intended to pulverize his face. Shinichi lifted his other hand and ran towards the clone, eyes revealing a beginning to the desperation brought about by repeated failures and loss of patience.

And that actually worked?! Shinichi grinned widely as his fist collided with that of the clone's and he eagerly pushed the fist back. The clone tipped backwards, about to fall, then performed a stupendous backflip. The boy was too joyous to make too much of a note on this, however, almost dancing as he completed his first successful push in over ... many tries. Now he had only to do it until mastery was achieved. Stupid pessimism. Shinichi braced himself as the clone charged again, aimiing a lefthanded roundhouse punch to his ribs. Now that was something new...

Sumire sighed. Darnit! She couldn't seem to get it right! She hadn't even managed a glimmer of succeess that time. She thought hard about what she was dong wrong. Surely, it must be something...Well, only time would tell. She'd better practice! After all, she had to catch up with Myobi. The other girl was two years younger than her and already more skilled at chakra control and, therefore, jutsus than she was! She didn't mind. But it sure would be nice to show Myobi how much she'd improved!
With this hope, the young girl began her seals with new determination. There! She folded her hands quickly into the seal of the sheep. She would get it right this time. She would! She concentrated on building her chakra up to its full potential. All she had to do was focus and concentrate...
