Brayden nodded, he definitely considered it a big deal. While Kaya hadn't seemed too upset back at the island about having to spend his days without his sense of sight, Bray couldn't comprehend being without such an important sense as that. It had taught him not to take anything for granted, that was for sure.
"I have to agree. Our group certainly does know how to handle ourselves when it comes to saving the world," Brayden smiled, looking back to Kaya as he tucked the books under an arm.
They had come quite a ways from their first adventures, Bray realized. So much had changed since they had first started out those years ago. He was glad to have found such a good group of friends as those he had been blessed with. He was happy to see his trust for them grow over time, until he could easily place all confidence for his life (and his heart and soul, in Kaya's case) in their hands. So much had changed since he had first started out, a bit timidly, Cye in tow. Unsure as to whether he'd really amount to anything as a decent trainer away from home.
But he also was amazed at how much had remained the same after all this time.
But Brayden's thoughts were interrupted as he was swept, literally, from his feet. He looked up at Kaya, flushing faintly at being caught unawares, but not complaining in the least. He was a bit at odds for a minute, unsure of what to say. Seems he's been running into that a lot recently.
He settled for a smile, watching as Kaya made his way up the stairs. He was admiring his prince's skills with the matter, and enjoying the ride for now. He allowed himself to relax, settling into Kaya's arms, his back tingling slightly, but it wasn't an unpleasant sensation.
"Just please no Spinarak or Zubat hanging out in the curtains and closets this time," he joked lightly, resting an arm on Kaya's shoulder as he was carried, "I'd rather we be alone for a while at least."
Sai had watched the two go, resisting the urge to trail after Brayden. It had become habit, after all. But that would be rude, he realized. And the last thing he wanted was to be rude to his new friend.
The Vaporeon considered the Zorua's proposal for a moment, also glancing towards the window. It really was a nice day out. And the rest of Brayden's team was already outside enjoying the outdoors. So why wouldn't he do the same?
"Alright," he decided after a bit of consideration. It seemed like it would be safe outside, after all.
"Tag sounds like fun," Sai nodded with a timid smile.

Truth be told, Kaya had been devastated that he'd lost his sight, though the simple fact that he could see Brayden's silhouette, if nothing more, had been comfort enough to live with it.
As the man carried his lover, he thought back to those first days, when his vision had been in much the same state as it was now. He'd first met Brayden and Chloe with his eyes out of commission and yet, as he thought, he realized that perhaps he might not have become so close to them if he hadn't depended on them then. It was a scary thought to realize that if his eyes had worked, he and Bray might not be where they were today.
The male caressed his lover's back, as he carried him into the bedroom and laid him on the bed, noticing that the kids had decorated the room with deep crimson satin. The smooth, almost liquid feel of the material was quite a refreshing feeling when compared to what sleeping arrangements the group had been used to lately, he was sure.
"I agree. No creepy crawlies for a while. I'd like us to get a good rest and get to the resort before we try to wear ourselves out again." he agreed, knowing full well that his lover would catch onto his insinuation. He'd rather keep the point vague just in case young ears happened to be listening from nearby.
{Yaaaaay!} Zorua cheered as it ran in a circle around Sai before rushing to said window and hopping out. He'd say more when the Vaporeon caught up. All of Kaya's Pokemon were outside, save for the few that were more inclined to be inside. Aoi seemed to have taken quite a liking to the study. Naofa and Mian had claimed an empty bedroom. They weren't apt to sleeping on the ground since meeting Kaya.
As Sai came out, he'd likely be quite startled to hear a crackling of electricity as Tintreach came hurtling overhead, throwing a Thunder Punch at a dive bombing Starly. "Beeeee!" with the current still coursing through it's small body, the weak avian fled quickly, retreating to the nearby treeline to recover before attempting anything so foolhardy again.
{[I figured with the release of the imminent 5th Gen, I'd get a Pokemon in the RP to make it official knowledge. Kaya and Brayden having an unofficial 'pet' kind of works out as a way to do so since a lot of new members pass through Floaroma at some point.}}

Brayden hummed faintly in appreciation to Kaya's caress, eyes narrowing slightly as the nerves on his back traced Kaya's touch with a lingering sensation. He simply focused on that for a while, letting his mind rest. Which was oh so easy to do at the moment. He felt the satin underneath him as Kaya laid him down, looking up to the prince as he spoke.
"You're right," he agreed with a smile, "We'll have lots to do, but for now, I can already feel the fatigue seeping in," he admitted. And damn, this bed was comfy. Brayden blinked, trying to keep from dozing off, as he deposited the small stack of books onto the nightstand. He could rifle through them later on. Right now he was more interested in getting some rest. He hadn't really realized how tired he was until he was situated on the bed. And now, poor Bray was having a hard time not dwelling on how ready for a rest he was. So Brayden pat the sheets next to him in invitation.
"I don't think I can keep an eye out for critters, but I think the kids would have done an excellent job in getting this place habitable. So hopefully the Pokemon that had claimed this house before we got it have found a better place to take up their stake of claim," he smiled.
But Sai was tailing one of these Pokemon as he spoke, following the Zorua out the window. He blinked, eyes adjusting in a moment to the sunlight outside, but in that time, he looked up, seeing an electrical bolt shooting over his head, Tintreach effectively zapping the Starly.
Sai hadn't had much experience with electrical types, but he knew that electricity and his kind was a bad mix. Shivering slightly, the Vaporeon dove from the windowsill, hightailing it a few paces away.
((Yeah, I've been reading a bit on what's been hinted at with the new gen. I'm kind of excited to see them come out so soon. It'll be interesting.))

"So can I." Kaya agreed as he pulled off his shirt, crawling over his lover to rest beside him on the mattress. He could feel the soft material moulding itself around him, easing him into a comfort he hadn't felt in ages. He watched Bray set his books aside and gently laid an arm over his chest when he laid back down.
"I'm afraid my own eyes will be a bit preoccupied with watching you until the sandman catches me off guard" The ex-prince smiled happily as he looked over his lover's image. The very vision of love and affection wrapped up in one raven haired male. He couldn't help but wonder just how he could have gotten so lucky as to have his affections returned by such an amazing guy. "I'm sure you're right. The kids would've warded off anything creepy that wandered in at some point." he agreed at last.
Zorua hopped around in the bushes for a few minutes, collecting some of Kaya's Pokemon. together before heading back toward Sai. {Do you have any friends you'd like to invite to play?} it asked, curious. These Pokemon weren't really friends, more like acquaintances. It'd run into most of them while wandering around and watching the young humans clean up.

Brayden couldn't help the smile by now, and he was starting to wonder whether it was stuck to his face. But his eyes reflected the happiness he felt, brushing a strand of Kaya's hair behind an ear.
"I'd like to return the favor. I'd like nothing more than to watch you for a while. But I don't think I can keep awake for too much longer. Seems the sandman has already found me," the water trainer admitted, settling down into the sheets, more than content. Even now his eyes seemed heavier, as Brayden yawned.
Bray draped an arm loosely around Kaya, nestling a bit closer to his prince, hoping he wasn't seeming too forward. But he simply felt like doing this now. Over the course of recent events, he had several close calls, and even lost Kaya to death itself. It was more than enough to wrack his nerves around a bit.
So now, the simple action of physical touch was enough to remind him that Kaya was still there. He was with Brayden now, and that wasn't going to change anytime soon, if Bray had anything to say about it.
So Brayden downright cuddled, which Ariadne would have given him loads of flack for, had she been here (thankfully the Gardevoir was simply keeping track of Bray's emotions, in case an emergency rose, but was paying little attention to Brayden's thoughts at the time being), and the sleepy water trainer laid a light kiss to Kaya's bare shoulder. Brayden fought a bit longer against the tide wanting to wash him into slumber, but he was losing the fight swiftly. The bed was too comfortable, the company too desirable, and Brayden too tired to keep up the struggle for much longer.
Sai considered the Zorua's question for a moment, nodding, "I... I can see if any of master's Pokemon would like to play with us?" he offered.
After glancing around the garden a bit, the Vaporeon set out, Caliga first on his to-find list. The Umbreon seemed nice enough, even though she was a bit quiet. She had always looked out for him too. So Sai took off through the bushes, setting off to find some of Brayden's team.
It wasn't Cali who he came across first, but Gin'iro. The silver fox was laying out in the sun, tails twitching lazily as he relaxed. Sai had always been a bit intimidated by Gin, realizing that the Ninetales was much more experienced than he was. So Sai passed the Ninetales by, still looking for Caliga.
He was passing through the underbrush, when suddenly he came face to face with an unfamiliar Pokemon. The Shinx meowled, unhappy about Sai's presence, and started to advance, clearly meaning to challenge the Vaporeon.
Sai backed away furiously, tripping over himself a few times. But a blast of fire suddenly flew over his shoulder, striking the Shinx, and sending the electric cat scurrying off into the bushes, not wanting to face off against the silver Ninetales that had suddenly appeared.
Gin yawned, stretching, giving a shake to dislodge any grass that may have clung to his fur, "You know you could have beaten him, right?" he asked Sai, the timid Vaporeon looking up at the Ninetales, not really having an answer for him.
"So what are you doing?" Gin'iro asked, and Sai froze up again. The Ninetales sighed, "It seemed you were looking for someone..."
After a bit of coaxing, Gin'iro gathered the gist of things from Sai, and surprisingly agreed to help, both in finding Caliga, as well as joining the game of tag. He needed the exercise, was his excuse, but in all reality, he simply enjoyed to play, despite his imposing (and a bit stuck up) nature.
So Gin'iro, Sai, and Caliga (who had been found by the pond Luc and Mac were currently in) soon enough came back to where the Zorua waited along with some of Kaya's team.

"That's alright love, let it take you." Kaya nodded to Brayden, assuring the male that he could sleep now. "I'm not going anywhere without you by my side anymore." he added, reading his green-eyed lover's thoughts without a psychic anything. He could see the worry and comfort in the male's body. Every time Bray moved, it was filled with a yearning to keep him close. And he obliged, nestling into the male's touch as he curled his arms protectively around the younger man.
~Somewhere in this world, there'll be a time and place when we can be together always, like this and more. We'll have eternity to be together and never worry about losing one another to anything. It's in the cards. I can feel it.~ The prince's thoughts swirled about him like ethereal smoke for a few moments, slowly dispersing into nothing as sleep finally gripped him and calmed the storm.
Nothing in the world had ever made Kaya feel so content as the last few thought that had run through his mind. ~Our child will know what adventure is like, and he'll grow up happy in a loving home with us when we're done with our own adventures.~
Zorua tried not to snicker at Sai's reaction to Tintreach. {Don't worry, he's here to play!} it assured the Vaporeon when he returned. As for which Pokemon had come to play? Rem, Tolkis and Tin stood proud behind the Zorua. They'd all run into it outside, avoiding it mostly out of respect. when it had come to them and asked if they'd like to play, they'd all happily agreed. Tolkis had even promised not to fly too high to reach.
{Ready!?} Zorua asked the group. Kaya's lot all nodded and cheered happily in assurance.

Brayden heard Kaya's words, nodding sleepily as he finally gave into the sleep that was hovering over him. The prince's promise was enough to cause his heart to leap happily in his chest. The water trainer settled contentedly into Kaya's embrace, returning it in kind, as his breath started evening out. Brayden dozed off, his thoughts finally settling around the comforting fact that things were finally okay, for a while at least. The world was right for now, despite the worries that he still had, and the looming thought of Lance's plotting and Notaro's scheming, for a little while at least, Brayden could relax.
Sai flushed faintly, nodding slightly. He was still a little skittish, but he didn't want to voice any objections. After all, Tin seemed nice enough.
So when the Zorua asked for everyone's approval to start the game, Sai nodded, Gin'iro grinned, shouting out an eager, "Of course!" and Caliga voiced her own, "I'm prepared. How do we determine who is 'it' first?"

With that, it pranced around the group of Pokemon for a moment before cheering. {Go! Go! Don't let me catch you!} it encouraged, wanting the others to really try hard to not get caught.

Sai froze up for a second, until he saw Caliga and Gin'iro scatter. The Ninetales and Umbreon darted through the underbrush, trying to lose the Zorua. Sai, once he got his nerves about him, chased after them momentarily, until he realized that the two were going opposite directions, and it probably wouldn't be a good idea to tag along with them. More Pokemon together would make it easier to tag, so Sai headed in another direction, passing by the pond where Luc and Mac were.
Caliga was darting between bushes, hoping to use the undercover of the foliage to help her run. Gin'iro, on the other hand, was running right out in the open. Confident, he dashed, tales waving merrily behind him as he watched for the fellow fox-like Pokemon.
Sai tried to stick more along a strategy that Caliga was doing, not having the confidence that Gin had that he'd be able to outrun any pursuers. He momentarily thought to head to the water, as was instinct, but again realized that wouldn't be fair for the game. So he wove between the trees, hoping to outrun the Zorua.

Tolkis blasted off from the group, remembering her promise to not fly too high, and keeping her speed just shy of too fast. She knew she could easily outrun any of these Pokemon with her speed but that wouldn't be fair, or fun. She opted for a ground level circle, skirting the edges of the pond where Luc and Mac were splashing about and following the river that ran the grounds' far edge.
Rem, on the other hand, decided to employ a different method. Using Psychic like a mental slingshot, he propelled himself from one tree to the next at a lazy rate, knowing he could easily escape should he decide he wasn't ready to be "it" yet.
Tin, the only one stuck to footspeed, decided to hobble off into the trees and play "hide-and-seek". He tucked himself into the hollow of a tree and waited to see if Zorua would catch him. Only time would tell for now.
Speaking of Zorua, it chased off after Caliga first. The black vulpine-like Pokemon seemed like she'd be the most fun to chase anyway. It'd seen Umbreon before so it hoped she didn't bend the light around her and disappear on it. That would be unfair, right?

Caliga noticed that the fellow dark type was tailing her, in hopes of tagging her. The Umbreon smiled, settling in to enjoy the game. She darted and wove between the trees, hoping that she was agile enough to avoid the Zorua. However, she had the feeling that the small foxlike Pokemon had a much better understanding of the land around the house than she did.
So the Umbreon darted, careful not to do anything that might be considered cheating. She kept her psychic powers, as well as her control of shadows, out of the game. For now at least. The Umbreon relied on some fancy footwork, although she did slow up a bit once she got to a thicker patch of trees. Running face first into a trunk wouldn't be pleasant, after all.

Zorua did indeed have a better idea of the grounds, however, it's small size made it rely on that knowledge. Dashing between trees with realtive ease just didn't quite cut it when it came to catching up to the larger Dark type. So it resorted to using the land to it's advantage. With a quick turn, it darted off to one side, rushing through the trees as if they weren't there at all.
{I'm gonna get you!} it cried happily, its voice echoing through the forested area. With another quick turn, it darted out around a bend in the path Caliga seemed to be following, with the intent of jumping in front of her so she couldn't escape being tagged.
Tolkis and Rem both watched from nearby, wondering where this turn of events would lead.

Caliga suddenly found the Zorua in front of her, blinking slightly in surprise. The agile Umbreon still had a hard time banking to the left, skidding to slow her momentum, before turning back the way she had come. The maneuver had lost her time, she realized, heading back in the direction she had originally ran from. The dark type smiled faintly however, despite the troubled position in the game she had found herself in. She was enjoying the chase, it seemed. She really hadn't allowed herself to goof off like this in a long while. It was long overdue.
Gin and Sai were still running, although they had let up a bit once they had seen that Caliga was the target of the Zorua's chase.

Zorua followed Caliga for a few paces after she'd turned around, knowing that this would be the opportune moment to use the lawn to it's advantage. All of the others had slowed, or even halted, their escapes to watch and see if the Umbreon would be tagged "it" or not.
And so it ducked into the hedgerow running along one side of the river and ran with it. Following it's length until it reached a good spot, it jumped out with paws extended as it flew towards Gin at full pounce.

Gin'iro hadn't been expecting the Zorua to change targets, let alone him being the sudden shift in the chase. So when the small fox had burst through the underbrush, pouncing out at the Ninetales, Gin didn't have enough time to swap directions. He ended up crashing, very ungracefully, not that he'd admit it aloud, into the Zorua, sending both him and the small vulpine tumbling through the grasses, a tangle of tails and paws.
Sai winced, seeing the collision. But he noticed that despite the crash, Gin was still offering his customary foxy grin. So apparently at least one out of the two was still enjoying himself. Despite being caught off guard, Gin'iro was quite enjoying this game. Although, it looked like he was "it" now.
