//Let me remind you that I'm not about to control every citizen under the sun, if someone else talks to a citizen the next person has the right to HEAR that citizen respond and can make up the answer.

The all seemed to assume that he wore intensely bright colours which would have been grossly inappropriate in his eyes. Therefore it was no surprise that each and every person they caught sight of was either a minstrel or overly eccentric to the point that they were just too extreme to relate in any way to the 'gambling dandy'.

In fact, their actions within the city streets were so suspicious that many simply stared at them as they enquired about 'dandys', 'orphanages' and god knows what else. They really were not getting any where very far and to anyone who was watching from the sidelines it would be either painful or amusing to watch.

"You are not very good at this, are you?" The familiar voice mused from the corner of the street as the dandy rested his shoulder against the wall, one hand clasped around his cane while the other held a glowing paper lantern. He hadn't changed much, maintaining the same dress sense of before in the sense that he wore what appeared to be something resembling a gentleman's suit of black as well as his top hat and shoulder-coat...really not the colourful garb people had assumed him to be wearing, now was it?

"One would think that those of you with charisma would have been aware of more suitable ways to find out information."

Odilen stifled a yawn as she trailed behind Shyam, letting the man do the asking. The wet run through the storm and the ill-slept night were piling atop each other to make her feel as though her head were slowly filling up with hot cotton wool. Blech.

She looked blankly around her as she plodded on after Shyam, feet moving on autopilot. Wall, crumpled can in the gutter, dirty feather. House with Christmas decorations still on, valentine box with candies spilling out of it and ants covering it (hm, that must have been a dramatic spat), lantern, hot dog stand...

Lantern?

((If it's okay for Odilen to find him, let me know Epee. If not, it can be an unrelated lantern.))

[[I hope you don't mind me dropping in. ^^; <--*doesn't want to be left behind*]]

Mirror slid off a bit to the side, hiding in the shade of the nearby buildings for his sight to penetrate the people of the town. So far no luck. He saw Odelin and Shyam up ahead of him and he rolled his eyes for no good reason.

We're going to be so obvious about our search that it won't be obivous. Mirror lamented to himself. Tired, the Al Sylian let himself drop in front of Odelin and Shyam and politely announced, "We have about four minutes left to search, m'lady. Have you any luck?"

The boy floated there for a minute or two, staring at her, but to his surprise, her attention was focused somewhere else...Even after his sudden appearance! He slipped a quirked brow to Shyam over the bard's shoulder but he didn't pay attention either. Musing, Mirror stared at them, befuddled, for a bit longer before he followed their gazes and his golden eyes focused on a paper lantern.

Lantern? Isn't that what they were searching for? A lantern or an orphanage? Great fireflies, Odelin has found a lantern!

"Well, would you look at that," Mirror whistled, his arms crossing over his chest. Now, would it be the right lantern or the false one? The Al Sylian hoped for the former. Time was ticking by and each moment passed brought a little more worry into Mirror's heart for Saevam...And a little more ache to his mind.

"Vincent?"

Quinn looked over her shoulder and mentally calculated the time it would take them to get back to the clock tower. Sighing, she turned Therin so he was headed North-Westerly, back in the direction they had come, and motioned Junkan to do the same.

The poor fellow really wasn't looking well. "Come on, Junkan. Let's head back. You can rest at the clock tower and if you still arent feeling well, I can let you in to my house..."

((I know Epine, but I think we all were floundering in here... Thank you!))

Shyam laughed openly, knowing the truth behind his words, but having his own take on the situation as well. "That is true, sir, but when the one we are searching for is so elusive, we couldn't help but be so obvious in the hopes of luring you to us.... And, it seems to have worked, thankfully!

"It's good to see you again Vincent, and you're looking well. It seems that these good people have been searching high and low for you. If you would be so good as to hear them out, please."

Shyam turned to the other companions around him. 'Since it's almost time to meet back at the clock tower, I should run back and bring the others here... unless you have a better place in mind where we could talk?" The young rogue paused before taking off, waiting for instructions.

After flying about for a bit, he decided that he should go back down. Flying about randomly wasn't overly wise, but he never had to search for someone quite in this sort of way. Normally, he had a lot more space to search and there was more of a deeper connection that finding a random stranger.. so to speak. Glancing downwards, he noticed that Shyam, Odilen and now Mirror seemed to be down in one place. Curious, he carefully settled down before them, managing to catch what Vincent said.

Not very good at this? Though he hadn't wanted it to, it rather irked his nerves, which were rather frayed to begin with. Considering that they had nearly no idea what to search for except a vauge recollection and searching in a town with faint little clues was rather annoying. Especially since they had been doing their best to search as best as they could. Flipping his hair over his shoulder so it was out of his face, he only calmly looked at Vincent and didn't reply as he had wanted to.

But since Shyam was speaking, he left it at that. He had to remember that this one knew the location Saevam... and that finding her was more important. But a thought travelled through his head and he shook it mentally to disband it. He could understand why Koni was anti-social...

"Well, I'll go find the others then." Shyam dashed off into the crowded streets, quickly losing himself in the crowds of people, weaving his way back to the clock tower so he could find Quinny and the Half-Ogre.

He didn't know why, but Vincent made him feel very concious about himself and his lack of abilities in the face of this man. Shyam decided not to let it bug him and to use that to push him harder to work to get better.

In no time at all, he found himself back at the Clock Tower, just a little before the requisite time. The rogue began scanning the bodies of people, trying to pick out the woman and the Ogre.

With his mind growing a bit tired, Mirror let himself fall to the ground with a slight tap of his feet against the stone pavement. He looked up...Up? Since when was he looking up to people...Oh yeah. He was on the ground now. The Al Sylian let a weird sound that was strangled between a giggle and a sigh slip fom his lips. Sometimes he got so caught up with being so high in the sky that it went to his head. Quickly shaking it from his mind, Mirror quirked a smile to Vincent and nodded his head with Shyam's statement before the rogue bolted back through the crowd for the remainder of the troop.

Vincent was, indeed, a diamond in the rough. And they should of thought of that earlier based on the slivers of knowlege they had of him. Whatever it was, they found him now and they had to get to the point. Mirror cleared his throat and piped up, "Perhaps we could go into this lunch shop for safer atmosphere. We have been searching for a while and I'm sure that most of us are hungry. We can talk over luncheon. I guess, I'll go reserve the table."

With a bow of his head and flutter of his wings, Mirror waltzed into a nearby food shop which they had conviniently stopped in front of. Stepping up to the counter and making himself float up a foot or two to make himself eye-level with the greeter, Mirror said, "Table for..." He paused for a moment to calculate the number of people, "Seven please."

"It will be a moment, Sir. Perhaps a bit more than ten minutes."

"Thank you very much." Mirror smiled and flounced back to the group. "I have a table getting ready, it should be done by the time the others get back."

Shyam watched the time passing, wondering if Quinny and the Junkan were okay.

Therin plodded ahead, feeling his rider's dismay at failing the task they had set out on. She veritably drooped across his back, face burried in the back of his mane, arms dangling. Therin glanced back over his shoulder to make sure the brute was following and continued on, comming slowly but surely to rest infront of the clock tower. He "wuffed" a little to get Quinn's attention and she nuzzled into him, muttering thanks into his fur.

Laying down slowly, so as not to dump her off, Therin lifted his nose to the wind, trying to sniff out the ones they had met here.

Seeing Quinny and Junkan returning, Shyam ran up to meet them.

"Hey, I'm so glad you guys returned. We found Vincent... er, or rather, he found us. But the others are with him, and Mirror was setting up a table at a restaurant for us all to eat and rest out while you all talked with him.

"If you two aren't too tired, c'mon, let's go back and find the others."

Shyam pointed back the way he had come, motioning for the others to join him.

Dutifully, Therin rose and made to follow the lively gentleman. He was going to get little response out of Quinn for the time being, though the Aziraphale could feel her ears perk a bit when he said they had found him.

Vincent's brow quirked higher than before and he calmly shook his head at the response he received when his identity was revealed and the initial shock had been eleviated. It seemed that they might have been seeking him urgently but it was apparently not important enough to cut the chitchat short and get to the point - apparently they deemed it of such a lack of importance that they would rather have lunch!

"Contrary to belief I do have a tight schedule and business to attend to." Vincent replied silkily as he tightened a gloved hand around the gently glowing lantern in his hand and pursed his lips, "I have no time for meals now if you would rather eat then tell me what is of evident importance to you then you may seek me out later - "

"Otherwise spit it out for heaven's sake!" He finished in an exasperated tone, readjusting his top hat in the process, cane still in hand as he fixed his steady gaze upon Odilen who had been the first to sight him.

Shyam turned around to make sure that he hadn't lost the others following him, and sure enough, Junkan was missing. Quinn also seemed to be dragging her feet, for some reason.

"C'mon. If we don't hurry, Vincent might be gone. Sorry, if I'm badgering you, but we don't want to miss this chance since we finally found him." Shyam didn't mean to sound annoying, but he couldn't understand his acquaintance's meloncholy, especially since she' been so hyper about this whole affair earlier. He took a breath, and did his best to calm himself down.

Odilen blinked at him - all the sudden hubbub noise had blended into a sort of overwhelming hum to her tired mind, but Vincent's words broke through even though she had to think about them for a bit longer than usual. "Um. We're looking for..." Who was it? "Saevem? She's missing, and we were worried... and we thought you might know where she was." Ugh, this whole thing had been a chain of finding people in order to find more people... what a grind. "The others know more than I do. Sorry, we waited most of the night for Lady Ali'ance in the Casino, trying to find you... forgive my foggy thoughts."
