Despite their faults, gaia dice really know how to advance a plotline. You instantly pick out the tracks of the monk, recognizing his unique toeprints left in the mud. You also notice that he currently has a small stone in his foot and what appears to be an ingrown tonail. You follow the tracks to a nondescript building with two rather large armed guards.

I'm tempted to do something with that, but it's for Steven and I.

The inside of the building is dimly lit, with no windows. There are no fixtures such as tables or chairs except for a white chalk circle in the middle of the one room. In the middle of it the monk and goblin you're looking for are locked in combat.
As the door shuts you can almost hear the minotaur mutter something about you, but it could have been your imagination.

You know it's not advisable to make your actions dependent on others in a forum DnD campaign. The monk strikes first, hitting three times in a row. Then the goblin attacks, hitting once. The monk dodges his second attack because the goblin telegraphed his blow. After that, the goblin ducks and weaves to avoid another set of three attacks. Then the goblin goes in for two more attacks.
