Elanin would have died if she had been aproched by the professor to do the spell, but she let out a sigh of releif when the two late commers were chosen. Though come to think of it, she guessed it was fair. They had showed up late, so he was probably being nice to them this once.

Mat looked over when two students came in late, smiling slightly. It was a little bit funny ... watching how flustered they were ... and the reactions of everyone else. Turning his attention back toward Elias, Mat frowned when the two latecomers got chosen. He wasn't really sure if that was punishment or reward. Weird ...
Then he caught Grave's look though, and blinked. He looked down ... saw the inkpot and quill ... then grinned, nodding quickly. Even if they didn't get to do the spell in class, if Grave wrote everything down maybe they could try it on each other later or something.

Thobias walked down the hallway quietly, the way he took his steps more then anything else made him whisper down the corridor. His boots hit balls of his feet first, and then followed by his heel. He eyed the names on the doors of each room, and passed many before he found the one that rang a bell. He stopped in front of the classroom door that he should have been to goodness knew how long ago.
The boy debated going back to his room, where he could curl up with a good book until class was over. However, something told him that playing hookie was worse then being late, so he was rather stuck with it. Thobius' blue eyes darted up and down the hallway to be sure no one was watching him, and when he was sure he was alone, his hand reached up and checked the sturdiness of his hairstyle. The lavender locks were twisted up into an upside down ponytail and clipped into place, small tendrils fell forward around his face.
Well, this was it. With a little bit of a grimace he pushed the door open gently and slipped into the room as silently as he could. The door clicked slightly but otherwise his entrance into the classroom was inconspicuous. Thobius held his school supplies in front of him, and to all outward appearances he wasn't horribly embarrassed that he was late, just a little irritated by it. He scanned the room for an empty seat, hoping to get into it before he drew to much attention and disrupted the class.

Nadyrr looked up hearing the door it seemed that there was yet another late student. He froze a moment as he looked at the new arrival, the arrival was a male - an absolutely lovely male. Some of the others in the class were also lovely but he had time to get use to them the new arrival had caught him off guard. Part of him shrinked back and told him to keep quiet and pretend like he wasn't watching the boy another part of him kept his eyes roaming over.
A spell that is what Elias was going to teach them, he had to focus...hopefully with it being demonstrated that would help him remember. As he mulled over this a moment he caught a brief movement of Elias and his stomache fluttered. Digging his nails into the palm of his hand he made his panic drift down and then returned his gaze to the one at the door. His head spinning a little he gulped and before he knew what he was doing he made a small gesture to the boy at the door and patted an empty seat next to him.
He didn't want to draw too much attention to the late boy, the others seemed very flustered by not being there on time and some of the other students had looked angry. He figured if the new arrival got to the seat quickly enough and didn't make any big noises he should be fine. Nadyrr didn't look back to see if the boy had come to the offered chair instead he stared ahead at the professor and tried to control the queasiness inside.

Thobius' eyes travelled over the room once quickly before he caught sight of Nadyrr. He inched away from the door and then walked over to the offered seat and sank into it gratefully. He placed his notebook in front of him, and began to prepare his ink to take notes about whatever it was they were going to be doing. Elias was in the center of the room, and he was smiling, but right now Thobius wasn't sure that was such a good thing.
His blue eyes shifted over to Nadyrr slowly as he quickly finished setting up to take notes. It had been awfully nice to point out the seat, yet now his neighbor was staring straight ahead. Almost pointedly ignoring him, and somehow it bothered Thobius a little, but right now he had to concentrate on the class. He would mull over the implications of Nadyrr's behavior at a later time.

Nadyrr sat for a time just looking at Elias, then with whatever amount of courage he had in him he took his quill and wrote quickly on a loose piece of parchment. Nadyrr then tilted the parchment enough so the newcomer could see in simple block letters it said, "He's going to show us a spell."
Nadyrr only kept the parchment up for a brief moment before laying back on his desk and going back to looking ahead and trying not to pass out. After he had assured himself he had better control over his actions he took a moment to take a look a the new boy out of the corner of his eye. He considered talking to the lavender haired boy after class but the very thought made his insides turn horribly cold. No he didn't think he would be up for talking to any of his classmates anytime soon.

Antigone dropped her quill in surprise when she was approached by the professer. "R-really?" she stuttered out, though more out of excitment than nerves. She would get to try a spell! Sending a quick, apologetic grin over at Aysel and Ubel, the latter seeming particularly upset, she stood up and smoothed down her skirts, gold eyes bright with excitement. Apparently it paid to come into class late... Though she supposed the teacher simply wated to prove a point, and have the two students fail, and then use them as an example for why being prompt was important. She's show him. A slow smile curved her lips upwards, and she mumbled a greeting to Elias before waiting for the other late comer to join them.

Ubel sat and watched, but was quickly distracted by the entrace of another. His eyes widened slightly when he saw Thobius, lips parting and cheeks actually flushing just a bit when he realized that his brain was momentarily stunned by how attractive the other was. And he wasn't even Melancholy! Quickly, he looked back to the teacher and the two students who were being given the spell opprotunity, determined to remain focused on class and class alone.

Oddly enough, the appearance of someone even later than she was eased Belwen's embarassment...just a little. However, the tiny amount of relief was short lived when the professor had approached about her casting a spell.
Swallowing hard, she turned a bit to head back to the center of the room, as she had already started moving towards an empty seat. She was now all kinds of nervous as well as just embarassed. She had never cast any spells! Yes, she was very eager and interested in learning how to, but ... this seemed different. She fought a little, to try and avoid displaying outwardly how she was feeling inside.
With a deep breath, another hard swallow, she straightened herself out a little bit, showing a bit more confidence in herself as she stood and waited for instruction. Her nervousness and embarassment slowly disappearing as its replaced by excitement. She was going to cast magic!
She stood waiting, hoping, praying, that she'd understand the instructions well enough to not harm herself... or Professor Elias.

Thobius entered, and Grave glanced up and sat motionless for a second, admiring the boy's lovely tresses, and rather feminine grace. As the boy made his way to Nadyrr's side, Grave could not help but muse a small mirth-filled smiled at the contrast of that pair. But! More important things lay at hand. Grave watched carefully as the two females stood together in the center of the room, with Professor Elias standing before them. Grave dipped his quill into the ink. Elias spoke up in a fluid voice, "Now, Biquintile requires for you to draw a circle on the floor. So, take this stylus..." Elias handed Antigone and Belwen both what looked like a long metal cane with an upside-down pyramid cap on the end of it. "Now seperate the circle into 12 segments, marking the Zodiac. Place the two planets whose strength you want to call upon and set them apart by two and a half signs of the Zodiac. Select any two planets you choose. Depending one which planets you invoke, different information will be revealed."
As Elias gave the instructions, Grave began to draw his circle on the naked desktop with his quill, scratching the surface and sectioning off the twelve houses of the Zodiac. Now, which planets would Grave choose? He glanced at Ubel. Well, Pluto for Ubel... He glanced at Mathiaz. Mars, clearly, for Mathiaz. He scratched in the planetary symbols. There...Now what? Grave looked up to the Professor.

Dariyn let out a quiet sigh of near-envy. Perhaps there were some quirks to arriving late, after all... it certainly did get you attention...and they got to cast the spell.
The blue-haired boy was intensely fascinated by magic of all sorts...not that he'd actually like to use it in actual battle...maybe...perhaps...uh...on second thought perhaps he should just hole up in a library someplace, but then, he'd never really advance and learn what he wanted.
There were downsides to everything.
Alert crimson eyes scanned the newcomers...that lavender-haired fellow was going to attract a -lot- of attention...Dariyn could tell, and wished again that Morrow was with him, as it was damnedly lonely, despite the amount of people.
Mimicking Grave, the slight boy started to draw his own circle...but to chose a planet? He didn't even know enough, really...he'd leave that choice for later...

As soon as instructions were given, Ubel immediately began to draw in his book, eyes actually never leaving Elian - he had a talent for drawing with only occasionally glances to what his quill was doing. A moment later, he realized he was being looked at, blinking slowly and turning his head to look at Grave, before smiling warmly. Then his attention was right back on his drawing, as he wrote down all of the symbols for the planets for himself, annotating and taking random notes, to make sure he could remember everything.

Antigone had to grin. She was deeply interested in the Zodiac, and this was just all too perfect. She still wondered if Elias meant to make an example out of her and the other girl... She certainly hoped she could do this right. Having no real inate talent for drawing other than the basics, she did very simple symbols for the Zodiac, and quickly inscribed Mars and the Sun as her two planets. As if she would choose anything else. Finishing up, she turned bright gold eyes back to the hypnotic teacher.

Aysel glanced around, anxiously perching on the edge of her seat, and noted that just about everybody was drawing their own circle. If everybody was trying the spell, why shouldn't she? Opening her spellbook to the third page, she drew her own circle and sectioned it as Professor Elias had instructed, and then chose her two planets..Saturn and pluto, she decided with a small smile. As soon as she was done, she whipped her head back around, sending her curls bouncing a bit, and focused entirely on the Professor and the two girls standing with him.

Thobius was thrilled that he had managed to slip in without to much of a fuss. The last thing he wanted was to disrupt the learning experiences of the other students. His blue eyes moved over to the note Nadyrr flashed him and he read it quickly.
A spell mmm? He ran his hand over the flattened paper and started jotting down the basics of what the teacher said. He might need to know it later. Off to the side of his notes he, like the other students in the class, drew the symbol that was explained. It wasn't so much to practice casting, as for later purposes, after all he was here to learn. A legend of all the zodiac symbols and the symbols of the plantes graced his notes as the quill sqribbled rather furiously across the page. The planets he used were Neptune and Pluto, though why he felt those were good he wasn't entirely sure.
When he felt content with his entry he allowed his eyes to wander a little, sizing up the other students in the room. One ear cocked to Elias, in case he should continue his instructions.
