iOggy EViLgerbilz Actually Yamahas aren't bad at all. They manufacture this wonderful new series called the Xeno. I heard that the New York Philharmonic replaced all over their Bachs with these. I haven't played it, but it must be wonderful. They run around $2500. Wonderfully off-topic WARNING! Maximum sig width is 500 pixels. It's an awesome pic of Samus, but the mods are going to ask you to shrink it, hon. yes you can get in trouble if your sig goes over 500x500 from real Gaian mods. 3nodding

Hmm that reminds me. Our director wants us to buy Harmon mutes- but I don't want to buy one because we only need it for one measure of one song we're playing and after I graduate from highschool in two months i won't need a harmon mute as the colleges I'm going to won't have bands (though if they did I would play in them . . . I think one of them has like a concert band if I remember correctly).

If you really need to get one, I would recommend www.musiciansfriend.com. They have harmon mutes (nice aluminum ones) starting from $24.99. There were atleast $10 more expensive on EBay. But if you really don't want to buy one and your director insists, you could subsitute your hand, a plunger, or the flat end of a straight mute. mrgreen

I see no point. sweatdrop Though my director says if I buy one he'll turn around and sell it for me once the concert is over. Only one person in the section actually bought one and the rest of us just use our straight mutes. Even the director's son doesn't have one . . . stare

Our school lets us borrow the more common mutes (straight, cup and harmon) but all the ones we have are really beaten up.
You've reminded me that I have to take home one of the mutes and fix it.

Trumpets rule ^.^ Oh, about that mute thing. Im only in 8th so all the mutes they got is your standered metal strait mutes. But I know in our highschool they have tons of beaten ones. You gotta basically buy your own sweatdrop But our highschool band (Lemont High School) have won tons of marching band championships like the all state. Pretty cool heart

I have two trumpets. One is an old student horn and the other is a kinf silver flair. I nomally use the silver for performances and the other for just playing around. Or if a friend comes over and we can play from the Arbans book.

Just a strange thing I find with it; I have a harder time pitching G. sweatdrop I hve no idea why but it's slowly getting better now.
