Kalliope Post 6

Feeling his hand on her shoulders and pulling her toward him she did what any female that couldn't fight did. Kalli leaned into him. "What is it?" That was what she wanted to know. When posed with the options of go and hide or find a place to watch she thought about it. She was curious but she didn't want any harm to come to the baby. "Both?" The dancer responded.

With a slightly mischievous look, biting on her bottom lip and giving big eyes, Kalliope looked up at Ouen. "If it gets to be too rowdy I can leave." She figured he would want to get into the action so she didn't imply that he would leave with her.

Callum ll 4

With a little cheeky grin, Callum lifted his hand and toyed with his lip ring. There had been something so innately appealing about the piercing that he had decided to get one of his own; among many others, in much more secretive places. "Ming'we, you mean? She's doing well; better now than she's been in a while, I think."

He watched as her hand fluttered to the scar on her chest, and wondered what sort of history the two had together. Evidently not a good one...

Taking V'demhe's lead, Callum bumped into Sol with his hip and nodded out towards the crowd. "Maybe you should go look for her, hmm? I'm sure Masika would like to know where to find her mother-"

Callum was cut off by the prescence of something very...odd in the sky and the sudden turn in the crowd. Furrowing his brow, he looked up and squinted. "What...?"

Sol ll 4

He tried to avoid making eye contact with the child, though she seemed focused on him. It was weird. Who would want to adopt a fireling, knowing what their kind were capable of?

It wasn't something he could vocalize, not if he wanted to avoid a talk from his Papa, but still...

He wriggled his way out of his papa's grasp, thankful for once that his skin was so dark and hid the flush spreading out across his skin. "I'm sure she's fine," he groused. "If she's older than me she can find her mother on her own."

And then there was a commotion...one he couldn't focus on as clearly as Callum, but one he recognized as potentially dangerous. "We should leave."

Naqenni || 4

Fortunately, it seemed everyone else was otherwise in quick agreement with Nivalis as well—for their own reasons, so Naqenni saw fit to remain a pillar among them, armed, but without much to say. When Zayana, though, suggested that they need to agree upon a ‘meeting’ spot, Naqenni’s mouth opened. ‘Here,’ lingered at the tip of her tongue.

They were here, after all. It was simple. They could note the place, and meet at a recognizable time for all, like sundown—

But then, Nivalis was speaking, handing out her specific instructions for their given tasks and designating the plan for reunion and—it was more thorough than her own. Naqenni felt, for a prickle of an instant, irritation. She was the eldest, oughtn’t she have have some authority—? But as quick as the thought came, she tucked it aside. The plan was sound, and she couldn’t have asked for a more favorable set up from her own circumstances.

Kanika and Zayana were well suited to looking out for one another: young, but strong and learning fast, as well as accustomed to each other’s patterns. And she was the eldest, and very content with the task of keeping after the mystic herself while they fulfilled portions of their mission here.

So, aloud she said only:

“I will be able to see, and you-”

Her words paused, though, at a stir among the earthlings—more so than their typical gabber, and her antennae twitched, coiling sharply as she turned her head to look where the attention of the crowds seemed to have moved. The tendrils at her neck tapped before holding stiffly still.

Was that a cloud on fire?

V'demhe Post 5

She gave a nod of her head as Callum corrected her on the name and then said that she was doing alright. That was a good thing. Last she'd seen the hybrid she had gotten the scar on her chest. Dem glanced at Sol then as his movements to avoid eye contact with Valharii caught her attention. Since the girl displayed dominant features of the Obans she could understand. "Valharii was abandoned on the streets of Oba when I took her in. Because she's a hybrid she was treated poorly but since becoming my daughter she's grown up in a loving home. She doesn't bite." The Alkidike chuckled a bit before she saw Callum bump his son.

V'demhe was about to chime in when Sol seemed to speak for himself. Quite the grouchy one. Dem didn't envy Cal for this stage. At the same time that her current company's attention was drawn to the sky her antennae twitched almost violently. There was a commotion not too far off as well. It was enough to make her look into the sky then around at what was going on. It took her all of a few moments to make the decision to set Valharii on the ground. "You go find your Aunt and your sister and don't leave their side." Since the little girl had street smarts Dem didn't worry about her getting lost. Turning her head to look at Sol as he said they should leave she nodded her head. "You can go with Valharii to find Masika. She has magic so she can put up a barrier if it's needed." While she meant only for the teen to go she made sure to extend her glance to Callum as well, in case he was not wanting to stay around.

Sabra Knight

Taijana ll 3

"Have you?" She whispered. The young archer also didn't know why his little smile annoyed her so much, but it was starting to chaff her. Was he...was he trying to mock her? She supposed she deserved it, but he was from Yael too, so why didn't he see what they couldn't...

"They're just just Yael's beliefs, Kieran; they're mine." He was so close and so warm, but it...What if he was more in line with the mainlanders than she? What if he ended up shunning their home, shunning her, just because he didn't believe?

She looked at his hand and thought over the question. For a moment she simply stood, looking at that outstretched hand, before turning her glowing eyes up to look at his own and she had her answer.

Taijana took his hand and nodded. And then there was smoke in the sky...

Ujana ll 3

"Then you just haven't met the right ones. Name's Ujana; what do they call you, moon son?" She moved forward to meet him halfway, propping one hand on her hip when she stood.

"So long as it isn't from Matori I'm down. Last time I was at something like this I had some bad fish; leaves a scar on your mind." She motioned to the stalls, completely ignorant to what was happening in the sky above her. "Lead the way, moonshine."

Callum ll 5

"You'll have to forgive him." Callum wasn't about to go into the details of the boy's past in the middle of a market, though he did understand why Sol had such an aversion to the child. Still, she was just that; a child. A little girl who could do no more harm to them than a menk. He sighed and shook his head, mentally working out how best to kick that habit of Sol's before he became old enough for those thoughts to become permanent.

His hand went instinctively to the hilt of his sword. "Sol, go with Valharii; make sure she makes it to her family safe, and let Masika know that her mother isn't alone." He made eye contact with his son before looking at the alkidike; making his position known.

Whatever was coming he knew he could count on V'demhe in battle, and he would try his best to guard her back.

Sol ll 5

Abandoned in the streets of Oba...?
Well that...made him feel like a heel.

When the commotion started up, following the smoke in the sky, Sol followed his father's orders for once in his life. He held his hand out for the child to take, and lead her through the crowd; some of whom hadn't noticed what was going on and others that were beginning to show signs of curiosity and panic.

"Just point her out when you see her. Don't take off though; I don't want to lose you." That would just be his luck; open up a little to a half-Oban child only to lose her in a crowd right before something bad.

Carminer - Open For Interaction

With the evening moving in, the wine family saw more interaction thanks to the migration of the patrons to the food court in the center of the market. With the new patrons, they were running a little low on their batch, which was both a blessing and a concern. If they ran out they had some spare casks, but those were for later days. Their coin was full, but he knew his sister was upset with all the free samples.

Yet those samples tended to get them sales.

Now, Carminer sent his two brothers away to get some of their heavy wines for the evening, and his sister increased the prices and restricted free samples. Word of mouth would probably ensure that others would still find them.

Carminer continued to shout and sell his wine, a wide smile on his face.

Aeuri - Post 5

They continued to wander about, sticking close to the internal circle of the space where there was food. Yet, Aeuri made a point to stop at educational stalls, curious about foreign books and teachings. He wasn't much of a fighter but he loved the concept of expanding his knowledge one scroll at a time.

When there was a call for food vendors to gather and start making a large meal for the masses, Aeuri tugged his sister in that direction. he avoided some of the soldiers rushing about, thinking nothing of it considering his background. Instead, he turned and urged his sister along.

"Come on, let's get a good table to eat!"

Aylin || Post 3

User Image

Aylin was so pleased when the hybrid turned to her with a smile and laughed easily with the compliment to her curls. “Thanks, I love your hair too- between the colors and the braids you make quite the statement!” It was fun being able to chit-chat lightheartedly with another girl, about the food they were excited to try, clothing that was being sold around the market, places they’d traveled to or seen along their routes here, even discovering that both were trying to walk the path of a shaman … and before she knew it dusk was approaching.

She looked to Ziel over the bowl of stew she’d purchased for dinner, an interesting affair that blended some of the edible fungi she was familiar with from Jauhar with the rich broth and meat of Tale’s Aldabuk, at the clouds rolling over the horizon. “Do you see that? It’s not like any storm I’ve ever seen in Jauhar.” Her eyes darted around the crowd as it grew more agitated with the reactions of others seeing the approaching storm. Or was it smoke? Now that it was drawing closer Aylin's skin felt tight as her apprehension of smoke and fires grew from its familiar home of doubt and fear in the back of her mind to some horrible reality that looked to be coming their way.

Amari was really beginning to like this young woman, she had such a strong and vibrant desire to see the world and it make him a bit jealous. He wanted to ask her how she liked traveling through his home land as well Oba, though he didn't have any strong desires to go and visit Oba for obvious reasons.

His thoughts were interrupted by a clamouring of people, some were pointing to the sky and as he looked up he drew a hand up in surprise. Something was smoking in the sky, something large. People were getting alarmed and it seemed some of the traders were beggining to pack up in a rush in case things got messy.

"Oh..my.I wonder what that is.." He murmured watching as anyone with weapons..bows in particular began to gather.

Eirlys - Post 5

The couple had enjoyed a rather interesting trip around a few merchant stalls. Huyana had picked out a rather lovely corset for her to wear. The ice beast charmer was more than a little pleased. She saw the archers running past them. Her gold eyes trained on their expressions. "We need to find the kids...get back to the stall...calmly." she muttered as she slowly looked up.

"As calmly as we can...try to keep those around us calm. Come on..." she slowly pushed her husband back towards their stall. Glancing to a small beast merchant that was more than a little shady. "Devi...keep your eyes on him...if he abandons those beast let me know. While your at it...convince them they'll be safe with us." she had every plan on busting that guy at the end of this market.

Drexl - Post 5

The brothers had found...a few things. Questionable in Drexl's mind but he did pick up a few other things for Jerami to chose from. As they were walking he jumped watching the archers move past them. He glanced to his brother. Oh man...their Dad's were going to kill them. He tilted his head. "Alright. Lets go. Miqwe, stay close okay?"

The Tiny beast was looking at both like they were insane. Its instincts were kicking in and telling it to run the opposite way. Right. Now.

As Drexl came out ahead of his brother on a path he spotted the large beasts. Grabbing his brother he quickly ducked into a space between stalls. Miqwe easily fitting alongside them. "Lixes...this might be a bad idea...lets stay hidden for right now..."
