Talya was startled when the game master handed her another rubber ball. "Go on, have another go," they said. They gestured at the sparse number of people at their booth. "There aren't many people here, anyway." There was a wistful smile on their face.
Talya returned the smile with what she hoped was a warm, comforting one. "I think your game is fun," she said loyally. "It's less dangerous, and it's easier. No one squishes us when we come up here, and we don't have to fight with seniors." The grown-up's eyes lit up and they stepped aside. Talya threw the ball, knocking down all of the blocks. The grown-up clapped and offered them a selection of stuffed animals. The only pink ones left were a violently magenta rat and a bug. Um...that pink on the rat was, uh..too extreme. She picked the bug and gave the grown-up another smile. "Thank you," she said.
It seemed everyone wanted Sherald's attention now--this time it was a blue and white cat, purring and rubbing against her shins. Score! Another cat! And this one looked like Arta Deeta from her favorite movie...
Verity caught her roommate's eye as she dropped off the books. Oh joy. Another cat. Just what they needed...Shera had a thing for cats. The Chimera had the good grace to look guilty about it, but Verity rolled her eyes nonetheless and made a sign of exasperation. Then she grinned and winked. Eh. Nothing she could do about it, really...maybe she could get Shera to do that "fixing" thing that people did to animals on this one...
Anchriesel hadn't even considered what the next stand was. Winning didn't matter. Getting to know a new...friend was what mattered. And this seemed like a good place to do it.
Batholith ran the obstacle course in a decent enough amount of time--enough to earn him another book. But he wanted to run again--he wanted to be exhausted before the end of the night. Normally he just used wisps for that, but, uh... Anyway. He prepped himself up to run again, stretching his legs.
Guereda brought Evelyn along to the next place--a fishing game, with magnetic poles. A pink Litch girl was already there, frowning slightly at the water and casting her magnet throughout the opaque water. Reda picked up a pole and dipped it into the water. They were pleased to catch a fish on their first go. The Litch looked up at them and...didn't scowl, but there was an obvious absence of scowl in that face. Reda shrugged it off and passed the metal fish up to the vendor, who offered them a book in exchange.
Evelyn cast in her pole, careful not to touch the magnet of hte Litch girl's. She squeaked as something stuck to the end and she pulled it out. This fish earned her a stuffed animal, kept in a plastic box where the suds couldn't get on them. She picked a purple cat and asked the vendor for another go. He smiled and nodded. "Sure thing, young one."
Callessa grinned when she saw who was calling their names. "Come on," she said. She grabbed Eidil's hand and pulled her along to the mystery boxes. Shera, their friend and teacher, was leaning back in her chair with a blue and white cat on her lap.
"Have a go," the Chimera said.
"Don't mind if I do," Cal murmured. She stuck her hand in the box and felt around. "It's a spool of yarn," she said. "Scratchy yarn. Craft yarn?"
The Chimera grinned. "Not bad! Very good, in fact." She pointed at a stack of small cardboard carriers. "I think that earns you a pet, Cal."
Cal squealed in delight, hugged her teacher across the table, and scurried over to the boxes. She peered in the holes until she found what she was looking for--a fluffbug. Oh, Nine and saints all bless the Fey for breeding fluffbugs! "Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!"
Eidil giggled. Oh, Cal. She tried so hard to be serious, and yet...she loved seeing Cal like this. Eidil stuck her hand in another box and felt around. "This feels like...a...merengue cookie. I'm guessing with some sort of preservation spell to prevent it from collapsing?"
"Right again. You pick a pet, too, Eidil."
Eidil let out an almost identical squeal and waded through the boxes. She picked one with a Nezubat inside. "May we go again, Mys Grey?"
Lillian blushed. "Yeah," she said. "That was pretty embarrassing." They said thank-you to the vendor and moved off to the next place.
Quilo found himself playing a card-matching game against another freshling. He did pretty well (in his opinion), and picked a beautiful rose. Yes. This would be perfect to show Ella how he felt about her....how much he cared about her...
Zalir picked up a ball and cautiously threw it at the bottles. Zey needn't have been so worried--zey knocked some of them down, which was a complete triumph in Zalir's opinion. The prize was yet another book--not that Zalir minded...Zey slipped zeir prize into zeir bag and stepped aside so Chries could have a turn. "Um, thank you," zey stammered to the vendor.
Ustule was jealous. The Demons had shown up and just easily won stuff. No fair. She sighed silently and went back to her fishing. It seemed her lack of scowl was rewarded, because seconds later, she had caught a fish at last! She picked a stuffed bat from the plushie box. Finally, she was getting somewhere. Once Jezebeth had grabbed up some brownies for them to snack on she found a little table for them to sit down at. It was decorated with all sort of small paper hearts covering it and a white table cloth. This Holiday was jsut as much about friendship as it was for more intimate relationships, but it might be hard to tell that from so many of the decorations.
She didn't get a chance to say anything, she didn't even know what to say anyway, before Eno asked her if they could spend time alone together later. They always spent a lot of time together just the two of them. But, Eno was asking for permission. That definitely meant something right? Right? Her mind ran through what all could be happening, but there was really just the one obvious answer. He liked her! And she was pretty sure she liked him back. Should she just say it now? Or, since Eno had asked, would it be better to wait for later?
"I don't have any plans other then to spend time with you today! So um, yeah." She didn't sound so totally crazy did she? Next thing she knew he was handing her a really cute purple bracelet as well. Ah, the little hearts were totally adorable. She slipped it around her wrist right away with a dorky smile on her face. "Thanks Eno!"

"Games are fine." she said with a nod. Many of them did look like fun so it might be worthwhile to see if they could win anything. Then again, Dante looked like he was already doing well considering he'd won her a plush. She hugged the jackalope to her side, but had to let it go as Dante deposited Jam in her lap. "Oh!" she squeaked a bit and adjusted her arms so she had room for everything she was trying to hold. She wished she'd brought her backpack but of course had figured she was just in for a day of people watching.

She watched Dante run off and approach the strange boy from earlier and talk to him. Movement caught the corner of her eye and she looked over to see a ball toss game. Maybe she should try to win something for Dante...
She moved over and carefully arranged Jam and her plushie and flung the ball. Sadly it bounced off the side of the basket and Ivy huffed a bit. Oh well, would just have to try something else.
She turned as Dante came back and when instructed closed her eyes and felt him slide something behind her ear. She opened them when he said she could and then reached up and pulled the flower forward and her eyes widened slightly at the lavender colored rose. She blushed again and glanced over at the blushing Demon. She figured he didn't know what the coloration of the flower meant and just thought a flower was a flower, so she'd let it slide, for now.
Yes, red roses. I think most Nightmares knew what those flowers meant at least. If they didn't, well that probably meant they spent the majority of their time living under a rock somewhere and never pursuing any romantic interest at all. he watched Cherubi's reaction carefully, worried that he had sounded terribly cheesy and not romantic at all. He was mostly worried she'd just take it as something jokingly said to her as a friend but when she stepped up to kiss his cheek his eyes went wide with surprise.
For a moment he was frozen, his hand rose to touch the spot where her lips had touched his skin. A kiss! A KISS! That sort of 'I like you' kiss. He was sure he wasn't reading into that wrong, nope no way! And she called him sweet! So not creepy at all! He was glad that had gone so well for him honestly, he was terribly worried it would somehow backfire. He didn't know how it would, but he had been convinced it would! With that big hurdle out of the way he took a deep breathe and managed to unfreeze himself. Surely he was only frozen for a moment, but it had felt much longer. His tag began to wag again.
"A game sounds like fun, I think I saw that earlier as well!" He had been wandering around a bit while he waited for Cherubi to arrive. He wanted to know what all the festival had to offer before the start of their 'date'. It was okay to call it a date now right? He took Cherubi's free hand and walked with her through the crowd to find the booth he was looking for. The best thing about his current get up was that he looked different enough form his usual self to avoid the gawking stare of his fans. He was just another boy in the crowd hanging out with his...well. Guess they were still friends right now. He'd have to try to make something more official by the end of the evening. Hopefully...!
The first game he spotted was a bean toss one. He liked to think he had fairly good aim and he only needed to score with three of them in order to win a prize. "I've got this one in the bag. Get it...bag?" Why he had to make such a terrible pun was beyond him, but at least it earned him a chuckle from the Demon running the game. To top it all off, he totally missed his first shot. His face couldn't have been more red by that point, but he wasn't about to let that get to him! He scored the next four easily, or at least he tried to make it look easy.
Of the various prizes he spotted the purple heart-locket and just knew it was something he had to give to Cherubi. He picked it up and held it dangling in front of her. "Have I ever told you how much purple suits you? This is for you, the girl I'm really hoping will accept this small gift and do me the honor of being...my girlfriend." There. He said it. It was sink or swim now, sink or swim! Suddenly he was quite happy to recall his swimming lessons...
Eilwen hadn't even noticed the common caused by one of Fakir's fans. She had been too absorbed in the various rings and other trinkets one display. She was just thinking about what should might find for some of her other friends when the pink ring caught her attention as something that would really suit her Fallen friend.
When he appear back in front of her she was quite ready to present the ring to him, it did look like something he'd wear. She'd didn't know any of her other friends to wear quite as many accessories as him! It seemed perfect really. "Of course, pink looks really good on you and I think the hearts say a lot for your personality." Always full of honest compliments she was indeed quite happy with the way it looked on him. Her wings fluttered a bit behind her as she spoke with him. Well, that was one friends gift down!
"That is unless something else caught your attention?" She didn't mind waiting for him to have a proper look at the selection that they had. As she spoke she felt something collide with the back of her head. When she looked down she saw the little flitterrat plushie by her feet where it had landed. She reached down to pick it up and then looked around for who might have thrown it. She couldn't quite figure out what had happened, but she had a feeling she might been on someone's bad side. Well, at least the plushie was cute.
Gadriel watched Nimue play and cheered them on. Even when they didn't win he had nothing less than a proud smile on his face. Just seeing the wallflower Imp enjoying himself with the game was enough for him. They were so cute the whole time they were playing as well! They way they had to stretch to throw the ball was so adorable.
Gadriel was quick to take Nimue's hand when they tugged at his sleeve, how cuuuuuuute, and he followed his glance toward one of the sweet stands. Well, he expected it to be a bit more crowded around them Still, sweets did sound like a good idea. "It's okay! I'll gab us some. How about we sit over there?" There were table set up and decorated not too far from the particular sweet stand in question and so he lead Nimue over to them and set his own won plushie down on the table. "I'll be back in a flash." This way he could go find them some sweets and Nimue wouldn't have to worry about getting stuck in a line surrounded by a bunch of strangers. And since the sweets stand and tables weren't too far away they could easily keep an eye on each other. Gadriel was wary of a certain Demon lurking about.
It seemed his worries were for nothing however and he returned after a while with some chocolate brownies to share with Nimue. He unwrapped the package and handed one to Nimue along with a napkin. "So, what's your favorite kind of sweet? Is it chocolate?" They had been the one to mention the chocolate first after all and this was giving Gadriel some ideas for gifts later on down the road. Cause there would be a later right?
"T-Trixie," she mumbled before the nixie accepted the book from the fey. She did give him a smile in thanks before she glanced down at the book. And promptly froze when she saw the cover was a bare-chest Daydream holding flowers. She stared at the title, long and hard, while her cheeks promptly started turning a darker shade of pink.
"F-Feybio? N-not Fey Bio?" she squeaked, looking up at the tall winged daydream helplessly. "I th-thought this was a-about fey history." She suddenly didn't want to be holding the book so close to herself. But at the same time she didn't want to offend Caramel for having gone through the trouble of getting it for her.
Freddy just smiled when Nef took the bracelet. His plan was a success! He watched with interest as she circled him a little, thinking it was kind of cute how puffy she could make herself look when startled, though her fur seemed to be slicking back a little. He couldn't help wiggling his tendrils a little as Nef examined him.
"I can make them move too! I can also go completely see-through myself if I really concentrate," he couldn't help but brag. He still didn't have complete control over his ability to fade; when he got extremely excited about something he had a habit of flickering in and out of sight. But he was getting better!
Nef suddenly got a focused look on her face and bee-lined towards a table containing some treats. He followed, noticing a plushie on the table next to it that looked a lot like Uniform. He nabbed the plushie and turned to show it to Nef. "This looks just like one of my nezubats," he exclaimed with a laugh.
Freddy looked at the bag Nef held in her hand. "Those are brownies. They're super tasty, and I would love one!" He took the offered treat, digging in his pocket. "I won some jawbreakers earlier, if you want to try them. They're a hard candy, you just suck on them instead of chewing. They last a super long time, but they're also good!"

Hexen's expression wasn't lost on Bayde and he grinned from ear to ear as the demon looked away -- at least, until she opened her hands and presented the ring. He looked at it for a moment before taking it between his claws to examine closely. Hearts. Cute. He gave another amused smirk as he put it on his middle finger.
"I didn't get anything for you," said the imp, adding a little lilt of sadness despite his ever present, lopsided grin. "Guess I'll have to find you something later."

The baphomet looked amused at the thought of plushies being launched out of cannons. Hell, if that had been how he got the plushie he'd offered, he might have actually kept it. However, his look of amusement shifted into bemusement when Ganymede didn't really shake his hand. It was just a touch, which Shard responded with a firm grip and several hearty pumps of the arm before letting go.
He ate one or two more of the chocolates before thinking to offer some, "I like food. All kinds. Ain't really picky about that. Plushies ain't really my thing, heck, I only came to the fest 'cuz I heard there'd be new students."
When yet another plush made its way into Ganymede's arms, Shard gave a snort of laughter. "You ain't a collector, you're damn magnet for them!"
"I'm honestly a little overwhelmed with how many things have been happening here in Below." He did mention the drastic difference in the way the denizens of Below celebrated Solstice versus the dryads from Above. But he didn't sound too anxious about it. "But if we take things slowly, I'm sure I'll manage."
At the book Topaz showed, he couldn't help but laugh. "Very. Though I'm curious if the flowers he's holding are from Above or Below."
When the stall owner urged Narra to try his luck, he was unfortunately too amused with the book's cover to follow the motions. The shell he picked revealed empty but he didn't seem too bothered by his loss.
"What say you read me a few passages to see if I should try again later to get a copy?" he teasingly suggested to the baphomet.
As Leilah continued to wander around the next thing she came cross was a table giving away different pieces of jewelry! So many cute pieces, surely one of these really cute lockets would make a good gift? Or maybe she could just keep one for herself? She debated for a really long time, in fact she was probably in the way, but it was worth it to pick out one that she liked. She picked one with a faded yellow face, it was pretty cute. Now she needed to think of what photo to put in it! If only she had a boyfriend, alas her love life wasn't exactly a blooming one. Probably because she was too absorbed in watching other couples than finding a partner for herself. Maybe one that that would change though!

As Gaeleath continued to wander the grounds and play more and more games he found there there was a variety of fluffbyg plushies around. How could he settle for just one of them? Clearly he needed them all to add to his collection. So first things first, win all the fluffbug plushies! Then after he was done with that he could seriously look for gifts for his parents and potentially some for any friends he might be making in the future. At the moment he was still really new at the Academy, but surely he'd make friends before long. He had a few close friends back home, but his very mixed heritage often stood out to other kids. While he wasn't exactly picked on, he wasn't exactly popular either. But he was hoping that wouldn't slow him down in Below!

For the time being Piper slipped the locket that she intended to give to her mother over her own head and while she was at it she picked up a rather cute charm bracelet for herself. It was red and totally rad! Who didn't love the color red? That was the best part about Hunter's Jubilee, the color was everywhere, on everything and everyone!
As she turned to move away she locked eyes with a Fallen who surprisingly began to speak to her. She tilted her head and looked down at the foot that was being held toward her. Ack! She had heard of them in one of her classes. When they had discussed the sudden appearance of Bakeneko and Naga, there had also been a new species of familiars discovered. She was told they were relatively safe at least.
"Ah, I think the teacher called them Coatl? Don't let them scare you! I think they're actually pretty smart and like to be pet?" She bent her knees and tentatively held her hand out toward the strange familiar. She was hoping they would let her pet them, but was definitely being careful about it.
Topaz grinned, recognizing the teasing, but flipped the book open anyway. "Alright, if you insist," she teased back, then looked down at the page she'd flipped to. Her eyebrows when up after just the first few words, and a slight blush hit her cheeks. "Or maybe not. There are a bunch of freshlings running around, and some of them have astonishing hearing. I'll just lend it to you." She closed the book and tucked it away in her back, then jumped with a huge, "Eep!!"
Apparently at some point, completely unbeknownst to Topaz, a coatl had crawled into her bag, going after the candies she had stashed away. It had seen a hand and instantly wrapped around it, hoping for pets, and was pulled out of the bag when Topaz pulled her arm away. She looked at Narra with huge eyes, still a bit surprised, then back down to the coatl wrapped around her arm. "Okay, I wasn't not expecting that!"

“Vanna you aren’t supposed to buy things for yourself. I know you have friends. You can gift items to your friends or maybe even Eilwen. She wouldn’t mind something although really its bad form to keep your real life sibling from meeting your school sibling." Mai pouted when she noticed that Vanna wore the ring himself. Still considering it had hearts she did have to give him points for wearing it. It was seriously not her brother’s style which is why she had finally relented and changed the subject.
Looking through the pile of things herself she bought one of the pink rocks. It was tourmaline and actually Vanna’s birthstone. Maybe could add it to one of the projects she was working on and gift it to him. Of course when she moved to leave the booth she didn’t catch Vanna’s warning in time and literally ran into some one causing her to fall back to the ground.
“Well I already did something for the family and there is no way in hell I’m giving Gin a gift, no matter how much you say that we’re friends. We’re really not I swear” Vanna hit Mai on the back of the head when she rolled her eyes at his comment. Seriously the two Chimera were mortal enemies, even if they often got for drinks every once in a while. “Besides I haven’t seen anything I want to get for Eilwen yet. It’s not like you where I can just find adorable plushies” Seeing as his sister was now ignoring him he look through the booth again this time quickly picking out a thing of candy. He might as well have munchies if Mai was going to drag him around. It was then he noticed the small catastrophe that was about to occur. “Mai… wait stop. You’re going to…” he trailed off as he was obviously too late to catch his sister from backing into the chimera behind her. Putting his candy in his bag and hoping that Arella didn’t try to eat it he quickly walked over to the two. “We’re sorry about that. I should have spoken up sooner. Are you okay?” Vanna asked to the newcomer as he was helping his sister up to her feet.

His mom really wouldn’t mind especially if he said he needed another box to share with friends, because other than Seraph and his cousins or his siblings he didn’t really know anyone. However he didn’t want to bother Jaden more than he had so he let the comment drop, well that and the plushie incident happened. Seeing as Chani was still trying to get to the plushie to murder it he stuffed it in his pocket rubbing the back of his head. “Yeah I’m okay plushies don’t hurt too- ahhh Jaden watch….out” he trailed off as his warning came too late and another plushie hit Jaden in the shoulder. “I should have probably warned you that they like to throw things at festivals but I didn’t think they would do it this year.” He looked down at the ground. This was probably Jaden’s first festival and Leto had screwed up and let him get beaned in the shoulder of all things. Of course he didn’t get too far as suddenly a plastic arrow hit in the back of the head…. That one hurt a bit more than the plushie and sent chani into protective hissing mode. Ah…. He was never going to be able to calm her down at this rate.
