-]As the trio passed though the town gates they were once again humming together in what seemed to them to be perfect harmony. They were not really paying much attention to whether or not anyone around them might be disturbed by the noise, or even if there was anyone of note around them. While Spirit was only really contributing to the high notes vocally, she was singing along about their adventure in both of the other's heads. It was kind of impressive, what she was coming up with, just shooting from the hip. That was until, of course, Cerbera and her pokemon companions entered the shadowy gloom of the forest. It was far eerier than any of the towns Berrie had experienced so far in Kalos. This did not deter the girl, however. She was determined to prove herself, and a little thing like a creepy forest could not be her limit...not when she had such dependable companions with her.[-

-]After a few more minutes worth of walking deeper into the forest, Cerbera motioned for Spirit to stop. She leaned against a nearby tree, fishing a water bottle out of her pack and taking a sip. "You know, it would be nice if there was an easier way to travel out here," she mentioned, pouring some of the water into the lid for Loofah to drink, "A bike, or maybe a scooter or somehting...All this hiking's going to wear holes in my shoes..." Berrie let her Froakie finish and then poured some water into her cupped hand to give it to Spirit. While the Espeon drank, she spied a Weedle dangling from a nearby tree on a silk thread. A grin spread across her face, because she knew that just exploring wasn't her only objective, she needed to train to be able to prove her independence. Well here was a prime sample for training. She set her water bottle down, grabbing Duster's pokeball and calling the Pidgey forth. She pointed out the Weedle and said, "You've totally got the drop on him, Duster, Go for it, Tackle!" The Pidgey cried out and took off, flapping full speed and ramming the Weedle, sending it flying deep into the brush, out cold. "Nice work, Duster!" she exclaimed, pouring some water into her hand for the bird when it flapped back over.[-

Loofah was still no trouble, as she was still using the girl's head as a chariot. Glancing up at the pokemon she said, "You know, Loofah...You're not going to be able to do that once you evolve. You'll be far to big." There was a series of croaks from the frog after that seemed to give Cerbera the feeling of "I'll enjoy it as much as I can now, then," or something similar. Berrie giggled a bit and reached up to scratch her Froakie's head. How about you, Spirit?" she asked, "Are you jealous that you don't ride in my arms anymore?"[- -] was the Espeon's only response, but for the next few steps, it edged closer, rubbing against the girl's legs as they walked.[-

-]It would seem that Cerbera's instincts had been right, because after a few minutes more worth of travel, all three working together to make their brand of light, cheery music, a Metapod came hopping out to the edge of the trail just ahead. "Pod?" it asked, apparently investigating the odd noises. To Cerbera, this was no strange face either. Like the Weedle she had encountered before, Metapod were very common back home too. She also knew that her Pidgey had been very lucky so far against these bug types, so she decided to not break up a good thing. Grabbing her pokeball she called out, "Duster, come on out!" The Pidgey emerged in midair, letting out a screech, ready for anything. "There's a Metapod there! You can take him, Duster! Hit him with a tackle!" Still flapping to stay in midair, the Pidgey called out in acknowledge ment then swooped down at the cocoon, full speed. The hit was hard, forcing the Metapod to slid back a few feet, but it dug in and remained standing. The wild pokemon then began to glow, reinforcing it's carapace to try and withstand the assault, but it was clearly in bad shape. "You've almost got it, Duster! Give it another one!" The Pidgey gave another cry and circled around, swooping down for another hit, a hard one. "Pooooood!" the wild pokemon cried out as it was sent flying back intot he brush. "Awesome work, Duster!" the girl exclaimed as the bird set down on her outstretched arm. Berrie stroked the bird's cheek with her other hand and added, "You're getting so strong! I'm so proud of you!"[-

-]Cerbera yawned loudly as they walked, covering her mouth, of course. It would have been rude not to cover it, even if she was alone...or at least that's what she'd been taught. Odd, really what stuck with a person out here in the middle of nowhere. The girl was clearly getting tired, and it showed. Her steps were getting sluggish, her feet dragging. Clearly it was getting tot he point where she needed to call it a night an lay down to rest, but before the girl could bring herself to admit such a thing, she stumbled over something and fell to the ground, Loofah hopping out of her arms to not get squished. The girl blinked into the descending darkness and looked back to see something skittering away from them across the forest floor. Suddenly feeling much more alert, Berrie pulled her pokedex out to get a better idea of what had, in her mind, tried to kill her. The screen showed it to be a Scatterbug, something she was far from familiar with. It looked small and weak though, so she grabbed one of her pokeballs from her belt and tossed it. Venom was in that ball, it turned out, and it slithered over to the girl, rubbing against her. "No, Venom," she said, pointing towards the offender, "There, get that thing...Bite it for hurting me!" The Seviper let out a hiss and began to chase after the bug, easily outpacing it and chomping down hard on the creature. The bug cried out as the fangs pierced it and went limp almost immediately. Venom dragged the creature back, dropping it at his mistress's feet. Using the light from the pokedex, Berrie got a better look at the thing and, seeing how hurt it was, hurried to trap it inside a pokeball.[-

She had to move fast, because even though she hadn't meant to do it, exactly, this pokemon was in terrible shape because of her. -]While the girl's pokemon were eating their breakfast, Cerbera fished around in her bag for something to eat herself. It dawned on her that she hadn't really planned for much in the way of her own food,having been more worried about having enough for her friends. If worst came to worst, though, she could always nibble on a few bites of pokemon food, she thought, wasn't it just mostly berried anyway? Berrie didn't need to worry about that, though, because she found something to munch on, and took her time enjoying it. When she'd finished, they girl decided to check over each of her pokemon one at a time and see how they were doing. Much to her delight, her Scatterbug seemed to be doing pretty well. She was hoping that would be the case, but considering it's condition last night...Berrie was worried. Apparently, these little pokemon were far sturdier than she gave credit for. The girl's Weedle was very happy and full of life, rubbing against the girl as she checked him over. Over the course of their meal, Duster and Quill had become fast friends, not willing to be separated, so she had to check them over together. It was kind of sweet, but a bit of a pain, really. Her Zigzagoon, she found, needed a good brushing because even in that short time, all manner of twigs and leaves got stuck in his fur. Cerbera's Seviper, on the other hand, was less than eager to be looked over when it was his turn. She had to chase him around for a few minutes before the snake would give in. However, a few minute's worth of stroking got Venom to calm down once she did catch him. When it was Loofah's turn, the little frog hopped eagerly into Berrie's lap and showed her affection for the girl by licking all over her face. Cerbera giggled of course, but still took the time to wipe her face off before making sure Froakie was good to go. Last, but certainly not least, was Spirit, and the two had a rather pleasant if meaningless conversation as Berrie brushed that beautiful green fur.[-

-]Cerbera was taking her time with brushing Espeon's fur, making sure to not miss any spots so that the beautiful shiny pokemon could truly look her best. However, while she wasn't watching, a wild Fletchling had caught sight of her sweet little Quill and landed nearby. It started chirping, singing to Quill and trying to get in between her and Duster. Well, that was not something that the Pidgey was just going to take lightly. It did it's best to block out the new Fletchling when it tried to wedge itself in, denying it's every attempt and protecting Quill. Berrie wasn't aware of any of this until the two pokemon started chirping loud challenges at ear other. Duster! Calm down!" she called out, but it seemed the two birds had already reached the breaking point. The wild Fletchling moved to strike at Duster, but the Pidgey was too fast. He tackled the Fletchling hard, knocking it back and out in one swift shot, then proceeded to do a little victory taunt. Berrie could barely believe her eyes at what had just happened. "No, that's...That's enough!" she cried out, grabbing her pokeballs and calling back everyone except Loofah and Spirit. "Geeeez! What am I going to do, Spirit? That was just mean! I don't want Duster to be THAT kind of pokemon...."[- -] the Espeon asked in return, nuzzling the girl's leg, [- -]Froakie hopped up onto Cerbera's shoulder and croaked merrily in agreement. "Well, I suppose, but still...Maybe I just need more experience as a trainer..."[-
