Lawr hadn't lived this long by fighting anything.
So when the wall was destroyed by a huge and lethal looking thing, he got up and taking Jerry's advice, he got as far away from it as humanly possible, without summoning his weapon at all.

Ceres just stared at the creature for a moment.
She knew she should have walked out of the ******** room right after caelius did. The asshat had a freaking radar when s**t was about to hit the fan.
And see kiddies this is why a MOON should not be attacking. She tripped on something.

Just before she summoned her weapon, she noticed a trainee fleeing. "Did you just say 'NOPE'?" she said coolly at first as she reached for Quinn. "Did. You. Just. Say. Nope?" Alaska repeated in a hiss before roughly tugging on his shirt and pushing him toward the titan. "DON'T YOU ******** RUN AWAY, LOSER! DO YOUR JOB." Cue pissed sun hunter.

Suddenly the ship lurched forward. "What...?" As lights began to flicker, Wilson stood up from his seat and looked around quietly until. Well.
Monster.
"This mission was just too good to be true," he lamented while brandishing his weapon.
"You can do a lot with thirty seconds, you know," Wilson told Kat.

Then someone grabbed the back of his shirt, just as he was about to move away. He let out a rather loud squeak, turning around to see the tall....scary lady holding him back. "....Nope?" Clearly the best answer right? He totally started to squirm.

Jerry hesitated as the old woman caught up, swaying with the boat for a moment. "Never was a strong swimmer," He mumbled before pressing in for a clearer shot, "But I don't intend on this boat going down and making that a problem!"
He skid along the deck, leaning against whatever he could to steady himself with the sway before the sound blast thundered against the creature once again. Not a vacation. Breath and concentrate. Don't let the newbies get killed- although Glenda was certainly a natural. And a large gun, too!
The world swayed. Still a little drunk. But he could kill monsters in his sleep. And often did. They had this.

He swiped at a tentacle but missed, stumbling across the buckling deck and trying to catch sight of her.

Catching sight of Wash, Sasha jabbed at a tentacle that veered into her way.
"I'm here! I'm here. Are you okay?"
She felt a little shaken, a little frantic. No shield, no real weapon. She felt terrifyingly human.

Ryan was already on his feet by the time the tables began skidding noisily across the room. He figured something was going to happen, but Murphy's Law demanded it was when they were all seated down for dinner. Of course.
"Did you really expect they would invite us--all of us, onto a cruise all for hell of it?" He asked. In spite of what was going on, and the recent deaths of some of the passengers, the corner of his mouth twitched up into a lopsided smile.
As for Kat's question and to add to Wilson's words.
"Yeah, we can become chum, in thirty seconds." He added helpfully, before striking the creature with his claws.

Glenda huffed, resting a moment after tottering up to the tall Sun.
"I like yer stick," she offered, placing the cigar between her teeth before whipping out a few Batman band-aids she'd kept in the bottom of her purse.
Those sucker spines hurt.
"What was that 'e always said? I's in th' night. Heh heh. Well, son, there is always time t'learn to swim. You look like you might know a few strokes," she added, with a conspiratorial mid-kraken-attack elbowing.

"I would just give it gas and make it even madder." He said instantly back at Alaska, before realizing what he said and clamping his teeth shut. Woops. He still was edging away from the creature, once he got on his feet. But it was kinda like being stuck between two things he did not want to anger. The monster, or the crazylady.

She gave a soft "hee" that he was at least still playing along, cutting her salmon and chewing with a delighted hum. "I don't see why it has to," she argued. "There's already one dead today, so I hope karma--"
--decides to remind Stormy why it was never good to tempt her.
The boat lurched and she gave a small cry as she tried to latch onto the table, which was also tilting with her. The swoop in her stomach made her nauseous, but the roar of the creature set her nerves alight and put her mind towards battle; Thane hissed in her ear to get ready, which was terribly hard when the boat was pitching and she didn't really have sea worthy legs. And when the thing had spines and tentacles writhing about everywhere, skewering things, blood and screaming filling the air--
The greatsword was summoned and immediately stuck into the floor to keep her steady, her eyes wide. "What is that...?"
< < It needs to die. > >
It reminded her of a hydra, the way the tentacle had sprouted right back when someone had tried attacking one. So damage, but not so much so . . . Where was fire when you needed it?
Oh...right. Boat.
Stormy looked to Gale since he was her senior, keeping ahold of the handle of her weapon. She opened her mouth to ask him how she should work with him when a spine stabbed her leg; she bit back a scream and reduced it to a whimper and a bite on her tongue that made it feel like she almost cut it clean off. Keeping her weight off that leg for a moment, she reached down and forced herself to take the spine out, wincing as the poison began to take effect and make her shake. But she did her best to give Gale a steady look again, even as she started to sweat. "I'll watch your back," she said after a sucking in a breath, though how well she could manage that was anyone's guess.
Over her shoulder she yelled, "Ian! Dory! Watch yourselves and stick close if you can!"
