King landed on his back after the sit-out spinebuster, laying down and panting for air. His back was in so much pain. He wondered briefly if his spine had just lost all feeling and that was the only reason he could move on? Cause he couldn't feel the pain anymore? Then as he adjusted the worst pain he'd ever been through shot all through his back, and decided that wasn't the graceful case. 2.0 rolled onto his chest and struggled, crawling across the mat... he had to capitalize.
King collapsed, laying his arm over Matt's chest.

The fans looked to be on the verge of starting a joyous riot as King crawled over for the pin. He'd managed to put the giant down, and now all he had to do was pin him.
One!
The past few weeks of events ran through Matt's mind as he laid on the mat, seething in pain. He didn't think he had the strength to carry on, despite how desperately he wanted this.
Two!
Breaking his best friend at the Royal Rumble. Chasing him down and forcing a contract on him. Destroying his home, threatening the well-being of his heirs. Throwing him through the titantron. All of it, wasted. Everything he had worked for...
Thr-
... would not be in vain. Matt pushed his arm up to break the pin, just in time to avoid his lost. Even after he kicked out, he kept it held up for the world to see. It wasn't over. Not until one of them was broken.

King didn't have the ability to freak out and be upset like his opponent had. The Man That Time Forgot just silently lamented that his ex-friend insisted on letting this go any further than it already had. This was end-game. They both knew it. One more slip and it was over for one of them. Maybe even the both of them. King groaned as he rolled away from The God of Punks, slowly crawling to the far corner and using the ropes to pull up to his feet, sucking in breaths like they were a delicious treat.

Shanahan remained down on the mat moments after King crawled away from him. He felt no remorse for letting this continue. He knew that it would come to an end; that end would be when his hand was held high.
With groans of agony leaking from his lips, The God of Punks crawled to the opposite side of the ring at a rather pathetic pace. When he finally reached the ropes, it was like his best friend was helping him up; one by one, he used the ropes to pull him out to his vertical base. From here on, he knew not even adrenaline could carry him. It would have to be his sheer willpower... if he messed up, there was no retaliation.

King grabbed the top rope, bringing him to his feet, looking over his shoulder at Matt...
And saw his position.
King freaked out a little, looking at his own corner, before suddenly flipping around in the corner and crouching down, his fingers outstretched at his opponent. As soon as Matt turned, 2.0 would bolt out of the corner, aiming to hit the Downgrader!

The God of Punks slowly turned about to look for Kelly King... only to spot the man charging at him; worst of all, it looked like there was no stopping the man. Booting the man in the head wasn't an option at this point, he was already too close; so, Matt attempted to side-step the Downgrader and leave King nothing but turnbuckles to hit!

King dove forward, as was his custom, but found but air to intercept him. Oh, and the middle turnbuckle. 2.0 landed face first on the corner, whiplashing onto his feet and stumbling backwards...

Matt's eyes lingered on the stumbling man with cold intentions; he had him now. Shanahan stepped forward and attempted to grab King from behind, pulling his head backwards and underneath his arm. If successful, he'd aim to lift the man up off of his feet in an inverted suplex position, then just hold him in the air for a few moments.
Matt kept King there to allow the blood to rush to his head, but more importantly, to show off just how powerful he was even in this state. After a few moment, he'd drop the man behind him and fall, aiming to land The Conversion!

King was grabbed in reverse suplex position, and as his opponent flipped him up into the air, King kicked his legs forward to instead complete the flip and land on his feet behind Shanahan. King dropped down and went to scoop Matt between the legs into a school-boy, but if he managed, it would just be a ruse to try and lock in the No Leaf Clover again.

For the third time, The Conversion would fail to follow through. Matt's back hit the mat as he was suddenly pulled backwards for the schoolboy; he was ready to kick out, but not for the No Leaf Clover. It wasn't until King was crossing his legs that Shanahan attempted to lean forward as far as he could and grip King's throat with his right hand, hoping to halt the hold and choke the life out of 2.0!

King was busy trying to fold Matt's legs into that dreaded knee-breaking hold that he enjoyed when sausage sized fingers wrapped around his throat, causing King to stick his tongue out and gasp for air. 2.0 dropped Matt's legs and grasped hard at his wrist, trying to pull him off.

Try as he might, very few managed to fight the intense grip of The God of Punks. And The One True King would not be one of them. With his legs uncrossed, he planted his feet and rose up to his full height to the best of his ability, his tight grasp still on King's throat.
He stared into 2.0's eyes for just a brief moment, giving him the silent message that the rest of the world could only interpret. He had King, and it was time for the checkmate. Matt would attempt to hoist his ex-best friend high up into the air by just his throat, before falling to a knee and dropping the man on it for the Hell's Throat!

When his opponent got back to his feet, King had very few options, knowing that he was going to be in Hell's TROUBLE if he was hit with Hell's Throat again. So before Matt got his man up in the air, King lifted both his arms up in the air in an axe-handle, and tried to bring it down with all his strength on Shanahan's arm to break it off! If successful, he'd throw that arm aside to try and connect with the Wrath of the Ring King again!

Matt let out a terrifying roar as his arm was hit with the axe-handle, causing his fingers to slip away from 2.0's throat. His arm was tossed over King's shoulder as the man attempted to follow through with either the 2.0ver or the Wrath of The Ring King; he had no clue which it would be. He just knew he had to fight back. Out of desperation, he attempted to ram his elbow into the back of King's head until the man let go of it.
If he managed to get out of the deadly positioning, Matt would aim to grab King's head and pull it in between his legs, preparing him to go Around The Corner! Without showboating this time, Matt would aiming to lift the man up and over his back into the Gory Bomb position, before planting him with the deadly move!

2.0 was lifted up by his neck and damn if that wasn't a painful enough thing in and of itself. He struggled though. He thought of trying to counter it the same way he had previously, but had a sneaking suspicion that it wouldn't work a second time. Instead, 2.0 moved his head into Matt's hand and literally went to bite him to make him let go!
