Hello, everyone. I hope this morning (afternoon, evening) finds you well. Usually quotenouncements like these are made only when there's some arc-related news to convey, but this time I wanted to get everyones attention to ask you all to weigh in on something. I realize some among you are on an extended rp hiatus at this time and/or are busy with irl stuff, but this is still something that pertains to all of us I think, and so I think everyone should be included. Achikah and I have been discussing something. This rp, though still young, has grown rather large, and we fear that might be turning off some who might otherwise be interested in joining, so in the interest of getting some fresh blood in the rp we're considering starting a new thread. We'd like to get everyones opinion before we prepare to do something like this, though, so that's what we're asking now. What do you think of the idea? Do you think it might help or no?

For reference, we'd be carrying over everything. This wouldn't be a revamp or AU, it'd just be a new thread. The only thing that we'd nix are 'dead' characters, or canons people have used and left (Hawkeye/Loki/Ironfist, etc.) so that any other interested party wouldn't feel awkward fitting into someone else's shoes.
This would also be an ideal time since the next arc is open, meaning there's no overarching plot, it's all character development. It'd be a growing tool for us but a fresh, neutral starting point for others.
Personally, I'm still on the fence about the whole idea, but I can't think of any other recruitment ploys we haven't tried.. Also, 1000+ rp thread is kinda hard to give up. So shiny. emotion_drool

So if you nix dead characters, what happens to Peter Parker and J Jonah Jameson Jr? Because if someone would play those two, that is possibly going to mess-up May Parker/Spider-Woman - unless there happens to be a good story behind them (like they're from another verse or something to that effect). Otherwise, at this point, I have no issues at the moment.

I don't have any objections to this idea. I think it will be good to help recruit new persons and if it fails we just continue on and get to 1000 posts again because we are that amazing wink

I was about to do a character post, on spring break so I might actually get to do some fair amount of rping. I think it's a great idea. Clean things up and mAke it more accessible.

No, Stray and I specifically talked about the JJ/Spiderman/Woman lineage you've created and decided instances like these will be left up to the authors in charge of said characters. So you and Tay would have free reign to keep your backgrounds with JJ and Keiros, or re-imagine them as you see fit. If redone, it'd have to be looked over much like a new profile would before a go ahead was issued, but other than that, it's completely up to you. Also, if a Spiderman profile is ever submitted by an interested party, we'd explain the situation and have them speak with you before any accepting or tweaking went down.

I can easily rename my profile page for Alejandra so it says "The New Ghostrider" instead of "Human Counterpart" to make it so the story behind my character doesn't change too much. I'm all for starting a new thread so long as I can find the link to it and subscribe to the new thread so I can keep up with the rp.
Also, the only reason I'm not participating in the current battle is because I don't think Alejandra and the character she's talking to are near enough to know what's going on, and the other guy hasn't responded in nearly a month now.

Than I'll just be keeping the current characters I have (Scott and May) and for the moment I have no issue at the moment. As an author, and having developed the Spider story this far, I can agree that if somebody does want to play Spider-Man, I would encourage them to contact me to flesh out the details. Still haven't figured out what to do with Kreios and only have a partial idea. But if it doesn't work for what to come, then he goes bye-bye. Will also wait to see what's what before trying to go ahead with either Scorn and/or Hobgoblin.

Sorry for the delays, all. Working on the new thread//transition in the background. This arc should be finished by this coming weekend (if not a few days into next week) as will the new thread. The next arc is an interlude, meaning no overarching theme or battle, just personal character development. If there are any questions or concerns, Stray and I log on at least once a day so feel free to PM or post here. heart
