Anger filled Dizzy's eyes and she turned to look at Joi's bedroom door. Suddenly the thought of remaining quiet didn't exist. She stormed over to the door and pushed it open hard.
The force caused Joi to fall backwards and land hard on her butt. She looked terrified again seeing her mother angry. She just froze on her floor, waiting for it ...
"You're a CHILD Joi! You DON'T play with Adults doing Adult things!" She was firm, and angry, but not yelling. Not yet. She hoped to not get that far.
Joi just cowered on the floor. She wanted to lash out, but she knew that would be suicide.

Vale cringed and looked away for a moment, not wanting to witness this... It hurt him, deeply, that his wife was angry at their daughter, she did have a point though, Joi was NOT old enough to be doing such things in his opinion...
In fact... He was almost sure she never would be, she would always be his little girl, as would Lucia. He frowned, and moved over beside Dizzy, and put a hand on her shoulder, trying to calm her just a little bit...
Joi looked about ready to die of fright.
"Your mother is right Joi..."

Joi seen her dad and sprung to her feet, practically pouncing him to cling to him. He'd save her from her mother! "I'm sorry Daddy! We didn't do anything bad."
Dizzy glared at Joi and tried to calm her breathing. It was not good to deal with this being so angry and she knew it. "Joi, no boys. You need to stay away from that man. For now, you're grounded indefinately, and you will be babysitting anytime we tell you too. You will not do ANYTHING unless you have permission, got it, young lady?" Dizzy looked to Vale for a moment. "Add anything you want. I need to lay down." and with that she turned and left the room quickly.

Vale sighed and brushed Joi's hair. "Shhhh..." He murmured. "Okay Love... I'll be in in a minute..." He sighed and when Dizzy left he looked down at Joi. "Your mother is right, I'm not going to add anything... Just... Why don't you get some sleep okay Joi?" He kissed the top of her head.

Joi had started crying and looked up her father with tear stained cheeks. She didn't let go of him at all. "Did you ... did you kill him, Daddy?"
Dizzy went in quietly and just laid on the bed, draping her arm over her head to cover her eyes. She sighed heavily. "What did I do to deserve a teenager?"

Vale shook his head slowly. "No Joi, I'm not a cruel man, nor am I evil... I would not have killed him unless he had harmed you in some way, or taken your innocence..." He murmured and brushed Joi's hair softly. "Now go get some sleep..."

"He didn't Daddy." Joi sniffled a little and kept her eyes on his face, reading his expression. "But I love him, Daddy." She prepared for a bolt for that little admission.
She wasn't ready to get some sleep, not yet. She was too shaken. She needed her daddy's reassurances, altho, didn't think she'd get them.

Those were definatly the wrong choice of words. "You don't love him, it's just a childish infatuation, now get into bed... Now." Vale's voice brooked NO backtalk, and definatly held a tone that the conversation was over. He let her go, and stopped comforting her, and started to pull away.
Yes, defintaly not the words she should have used.

Joi's arms wrapped around herself as her dad pryed himself away. She started sobbing. If she was forced to make a decision, Jay or Daddy ... it would kill her inside and she felt that's what he was forcing her to do.
She lowered her head and turned, slowly heading to her bed without another word to her dad.

"I love you Joi... Try to sleep well..." He murmured, feeling a bit bad about what he was doing on the inside. He sighed and shut her door, then headed to his and Dizzy's room.
He wanted to Bolt himself into oblivion, but odds were he would only paralyze himslef from the neck down...

Joi crawled into bed, literally crying herself to sleep.
Dizzy was still awake when Vale came in. "How'd it go?" she whispered to him as she sat up. He looked like he was hit by a train! "Are you ok?"

"She's... crying in her room... and I feel like total s**t..." He sighed and sat down on his side of the bed, looking away from Dizzy.
"She told me she loved him... I told her that it was just a childish infatuation, and then I told her to go to bed... Then she started sobbing, and I left..." He shook a bit and then lay down on his back looking up at the roof.
"Where... Did I... Did we... go wrong with her? When did it become so hard to be a good parent... to be a good father?" He sighed and covered his eyes for a moment with his arm.
"Why is it, that finally, when something starts going right, it all has to come crashing down around my ears..." He huffed and shook his head. "You get pregnant, but you lose your memory... You get pregnant again, Joi pitches a fit... Joi's okay with the babies and she grows up into a teenager... and suddenly every BOY for miles is beating a path to our door to take our daughter's innocence... And now she's conviced she LOVES this creep..." He slowly pulled his arm from his eyes and looked at Dizzy.
"Am I really that bad of a father, of a husband? Of a man? What did I do, that is causing all of this to happen..."

Dizzy frowned, pouting her bottom lips slightly. It broke her heart, what Vale was saying. She crawled over to him, laying beside him and facing him. Well, sorta laying against him. She rested her chin on his chest as well as her left hand. "Vale, you're a great father, a great husband... a great man. Sometimes challenges are just thrown at us. Its the Guardian's way of helping us grow and learn. Joi's in an awkward phase right now. She's not a child, but she's not an adult, and I think she's going to be testing her limits." She sighed and kept her eyes on Vale, her fingers starting to slowly knead against the flesh of his chest. "You said the right thing. She's NOT in love with that creep. First crush, puppylove, infatuation... not real love. She'll learn that in time. We just gotta try and help her see it." She moved her hand up to his shoulder, squeezing gently and turned her head to rest her cheek against his chest. "That man needs to be told its wrong to go after young girls like that tho." she sighed. She wished for just 1 minute alone with him in a room with no doors...

Vale sighed and moved a hand to Dizzy's back as best as he was able, and softly ran a hand up and down it, working his fingers slowly around her wings. "If I ever, EVER, see him ANYWHERE near Joi again... I'm going to hurt him... I know I will... I don't know if I can control myself..." He sighed and closed his eyes. "I will not seek him out, but if I run into him again away from Joi... I will make it abundantly clear that what he's doing is wrong, morally wrong. He needs to find a grown woman of his own if he's looking for a partner, not a young girl like Joi..." Vale huffed softly and closed his eyes. "It's just hard... With Joi... so... sprung on him... And her so... emotional..." He huffed.
"Sometimes I wonder if we're doing the right thing being so strict with her, but I know that if we let up even an inch she will make a mistake that will ruin her life forever..."

Dizzy sighed but snuggled up close to him still. "You know, baby, I wouldn't stop you either. That man needs to be told. Needs the point driven in." She huffed as well. Just the thought of him touching Joi angered her so much. Dirty creep... "Maybe we can try keeping her around here more often... keeping an eye on her, you know ... till she matures a little more?"
