The group fell into a comfortable silence, with occasional chatter here and there. Ground fell away under bike tires and pokemon hooves, paws, and wings. The rolling hills of the Pilkiras Plains stretched for as far as the eye could see in any direction, Katarina having long since disappeared behind them. As they crested another hill, Shina spotted a dark smudge ahead. Trees. There must be a stream or river ahead. The water source would be helpful. They would make camp there. "Okay everyone, we've made good time today! There are some trees just visible ahead. We will make camp for the night there!" Shina called to the group. With a stopping point in sight, a second wind hit the caravan, and they all picked up their pace, the line of trees growing closer.
((Bit of a timeskip here people, but not a huge one. We are still on the first day, but we have covered a great deal of ground. It's late in the day, approaching evening. The area ahead is a broad, shallow stream that never gets deeper than about three feet, and is fairly broad and slow moving. There is a wide, shallow area where we will ford the stream in the morning, where the water is no more than knee-deep. The trees are thickest around the banks of the stream, and to the north on the Katarina side of the stream, there is an area of about fifty acres where the ground is a little lower and the trees grow fairly thick in a small forest. Just to the south of the ford on the Katarina side of the stream is a nice large clearing, which shows signs that it has been used as a campsite by travelers before, including a stone-lined firepit.))

"I smell ashes...and trees. And water. What is this place?" Shikari had never been camping before. Her home island was so small that day excursions had always been sufficient.

Flint had, by now, concluded that the girl riding with Shina could not see. He looked over at her from his Tauros " were near a large clearing that looks like its used commonly for camping it's flat so its good for pitching tents and its somewhat sheltered by the trees so wind wont be a problem. It got a fire-pit already built, so all we'll have to do is gather some wood and get one of the fire pokemon to light a fire for us. There are lots of tall trees and stream nearby, from here the stream looks fairly shallow, we should be able to cross it tomorrow with no trouble." He smiled to himself, it had been a while since he had spent the night outside, it would be fun, provided nothing disastrous happened.
--------
Nearby, but still out of view of the caravan, Cha'Time and Kwatoko walked at a steady pace towards the river. The past few days had been crazy, and he wanted to get as much space between him and Katarina as possible.

Mrs. Pearls simply smiled. The Shina-girl was certainly right about one thing -- Deneb Algenubi really wasn't friendly. Would likely clap off a few fingers before the poor girl could feel a feather. Considering he was flying from midday to the early evening, he was quite hungry. With the clatter of trees against the dawning away horizon, the Pidgeot cawed low. Finally, rest and a meal. Without extra word, the Pidgeot flapped ahead of the two and made a wide arc to land. He was quite impatient and as Cetus clambered off, he gave her a last glare of affirmation he was heading out for a meal and took to the air. Cetus turned without another word. He'd be back in an hour or so anyway.
Dropping to the grass beneath and spreading her legs as she sat rather un-lady like, she leaned back and sighed lowly. It was rough sitting on a Pokemon she couldn't sit a saddle on. Well, no. She could fit a saddle on him, he just refuses it. Whenever the other members of the group reached, she smiled again and than sighed. "What a long day . . . " she said. "I've missed traveling around traditionally via Pokemon. It has its charm!" At least she wasn't lying this time -- she's always preferred Pokemon to mechanical transport. "So, shall we start on a meal?"
She picked at her pocket and took out a Pokeball, pressed the center, and released a grumpy looking Pokemon from it. It sparkled at its entrance and of course, the glitter did not go well with the senior Pokemon's appearance. It was a Marowak. "I heard these are quite . . . delicious." she said seriously (licking her lips a bit), but played it off with a teasing tone. "Haha, just kidding~ (A bit.) This is Thanih al Naamat, a shiny I was lucky to catch! Pretty, isn't he?"
Thanih huffed and wobbled under his bone club walking cane. Where were they, who were these people, and why was Cetus trying to cook him again?

Heal had stayed outside the caravan for a while, following the group at the distance while listening to the chatter, for the most part, he had done this because of Arthmael. Whenever the young healer tried to get closer, the large shiny ninetails got in his way and slowed him down back to a safe distance. He could understand why his pokemon wanted to do this for a while, just try to gauge just what was the mix here and if it was a good idea to to join them. That was fine....for an hour. Maybe two, but they had been tailing them for what felt like six hours now and the caravan had decide to make camp in one of the few clusters of trees around the Pilkiras Plains.
Heal had enough and masterly dodge his own pokemon to join the settling group, just in time to hear Mrs. Pearls comment on eating her Marowak. "Hmm, Marowak meat is good, but yours seems to be a little on expire side..." He grinned before finding a spot to sit down. "So you are all traveling together, that's nice."
Arthmael gave a huff as he walked after his trainer, making his displeasure known before sitting down next to him, curling eight tails about himself, and one around Heal's leg, as if to keep him from going any where out of his sight.

Shikari chuckled and slid off Rasha, but misjudged the height and slipped when she hit the ground. "Ouuuuch." She tried to stand. Another ouch, as anyone who has ridden a horse for the first time can attest. She gave up and simply sat where she was. "So...if we're not gonna eat...whatever a Marowak is...then what DO we eat?"

Shina dismounted as well, landing with quite a bit more grace and ease. She had been traveling with Rasha for a while now, and while it was nice to use her own two legs, she was used to spending all day in a saddle. "Oh, sorry Shikari. Try to walk around a bit, don't let your muscles get too stiff. Tomorrow we might want to have you spend some of the time sitting sidesaddle to give your legs a rest. Don't worry, you will get used to riding pretty quickly," Shina told her new friend.
"As for dinner, our main food options will be soups, stews, coal-baked foods, and other campfire foods, along with things that can be eaten raw. For tonight, I think we will have soup. I think I see some cattail shoots that should be good to add, and I wouldn't be surprised to find some watercress if we look out a ways downstream. Some of us will collect firewood, while others who know what to look for will collect wild plants that are edible. Then we prepare the plants, throw it all in a pot with water, add food from our own stores if needed, and cook it all over the fire for a while. We might even catch a few fish to add to the soup if we are lucky. If not, I have dried meat we can add," Shina explained.

"Oooh! That sounds terrific! Shall I grab a pole? I can fish by feel." Shikari grinned. At least there was SOMETHING she could do right. "And don't worry about me around water. I'm a good swimmer." She selected a pole and somewhat stiffly headed over to the water. "Fishy, fishy, fish..." she singsonged.

Rush trotted into the campsite behind the others, he was pleased with the progress they had made that day and was ready for a break. Flint hopped off the bulls back then stretched for a few moments. He was rather sore after all that riding, a Tauros did not offer a very smooth ride. Overharing Shina he raised his hand slightly " ill go get the firewood, if anyone wants to go with me" he offered, wanting to be productive.
Maya stretched and yawned. looking around she realized they had stopped for the night. She shook herself lightly then jumped from Rush's back to Flint's shoulder and settled herself there.

Yaneci hadn't heard of the caravan, what with wandering from home to try and charm a pokemon into joining her. Sure she could have had the pick of any pokemon bred by her family, but Yane wanted to do this on her own. Unfortunately that meant finding a way to catch a pokemon without the help of another pokemon. Not that Yane is with out her own tricks, her rucksack holding an assortment of treats and toys pokemon like. Of course getting close enough to a wild pokemon to offer said treats can be a challenge. Add to that the fact that Yane wants a very specific pokemon as her first and this leaves the girl still alone. Though, not for long based on the sounds Yane is now hearing.
Grabbing up her rucksack, Yane slings it onto her shoulders then picks up a basket of fruits and the few pieces of firewood she'd collected. "There's safety in numbers.. right?" She asks herself as she heads off to find the voices. It doesn't take long, Yane's chosen spot was less then a half hour's walk from where the caravan stopped. Not sure what to do now, Yane just stands at the edges for several minutes, watching everyone.
With a sigh she pushes herself forward, every bit of her body language telling plainly that she'd rather leave. Too many strangers. Not a single person she knows. But the simple truth was Yane was lost. Again. And no way to get anywhere with out help. So she'd just have to knuckle up and ask if she can join them. Or get directions. She thinks, seeing the lack of vehicles. They must all ride their pokemon. For the first time since leaving Yane regrets refusing to borrow her brother's Ponyta.
Pushing that thought aside, Yane walks up to a random woman. "Excuse me, miss? Could I.. uhh.. join you all?" Yane takes a quick glance at the woman, but quickly looks away. Noting people getting ready to make camp, and probably a fire and meal as well, Yane gives a sheepish smile. "I'm not the best cook, but I have some fruits I picked. And fire wood. I can gather more too.. and.. and plants for eating.. I think." Yane isn't an expert on what plants are edible or not, but there are a few she knows of. Weather or not they grow here is another story. She hadn't seen many so far she recognized, at least not past berries and other fruits.
((OOC: Yane is talking to the first woman who decides to answer her. I am bad at picking. And if I don't reply in a reasonable time feel free to skip my turn, rl likes to chew on me and make me forget things.))

The ground rumbled under the hooves of a powerful Tauros as he thundered over the ground, putting a quick amount of distance behind him. Stradling his back and leaning over his powerful muscles was his trainer, her hands burried deep into the long fur that made up his mane to stear him. Ahead, she could see what could only be a very large group of people and pokemon.
Perfect.
Eyes narrowing, she dug her knees a bit into her pokemon's side to urge him faster. Within minutes, she was within view of the camp, and a couple seconds later she'd thundered up to a red-headed boy, stopping just short of trampling him. The monsterous quadroped snorted and stamped his feet a few times while his rider looked down with cold eyes, clearly aprasing the trainer she'd nearly flattened. Without another word, she turned on her mount and pulled out a well worn map from the bags that were tied to her pokemon's rump.
"Can you tell me where I am." Yeah... she'd been lost for the last two days. She hated to admit it, but she was rather relieved to see some humans.

Flint had not been paying any attention to his surroundings. He heard the hoof-beats of the Tauros and had turned around just in time to see the Tauros nearly run him down, he jumped back and gave a less than manly yelp of fright. Eyes wide he took a moment to try to compose himself, it wasn't that he was scared, he was just startled. The Tauros did not intimidate him, he was too used to Rush, however the girl on its back was far more intimidating. Something about her did not give him the feeling she wanted to be friends. " u-uhm were just about a days ride from Katarina, which is in that direction" he stuttered, pointing the way the caravan had came, hoping he would not have to be more detailed than that.

"Hm?" Shina turned her attention to this new girl. "Oh, hello. I'm the caravan leader, Shina Kiremono. We are accepting anyone who wants to join, so you are welcome to come along," Shina said warmly.
"We are exploring Zatao, taking a meandering route from Katarina, where we left from this morning, to Motterossa, then up to Inhinx. I have bikes available for borrowing, if you don't have a mount, as well," Shina offered.

Mrs. Pearls cocked her head about, eying both of the sudden new members to join the so-called "caravan." Two girls. Great. She grabbed at her shiny Marowak's tail and he knocked her hand away with his bone club, obviously annoyed. "What?" she asked with a sly smile, drawing her hand away as he glared at her. "You're just a big grumpy head, hehe~"
At that moment, Deneb Algenubi returned from his hunt and swooped low, landing with a dusty thump to the campsite. He waddled up to Cetus and dropped the remains of his hunt next to her, which she grimaced at. "Why do you always do that?" she asked with an inclined brow, inching away from the curved tail of, well, something.
His Pidgeot just clattered his beak and settled elsewhere. Hey, it was a custom, okay? Why couldn't she understand that?

The corner of the woman's mouth twitched as her teeth clenched; there was a city just a day's ride away from here. Glancing down at her Tauros' back, she noticed that the pokemon was breathing heavily and his fur was a bit wet with sweat.
"Ares...." She muttered softly before swinging a leg over to one side and sliding off of him. Tenderly, her hand slid over the heavy breathing pokemon; they'd been moving hard and fast for most of the day, it was time for a rest for the big lug.
Glancing around the area, she noted the large number of people and pokemon about. "Is there any particular reason for this large assembly...." Her sharp red eyes rested on Flint again, just daring the boy to tell her something untrue.
