The Black Phoenix felt something nudging at her wing. She lowered it slowly and found herself staring at the wide, pink eyes of the Negaverse agent that had once been Lt. Unobtaniumucles. He was a good little baby phoenix youma, it seemed, but she was too tired to point out that he should be battling on the field, not worrying about her. Youma were tools of the Negaverse. It was his job to be an extension of their weapons.
Instead, the Great Youma let out a defeated chirrup, her head lolling to one side, the wing going slack. There was fight left in her, just not much. The choice to show the senshi their darkness, even the choice to create the tiny youma that assaulted her now, had perhaps been unwise.
Rolling to her side, she stared up at the starry sky and tried to summon a deep strength from within.

He...didn't know what was at stake? The life of that beautiful youma was at stake. She was all that mattered. Her magnificence, her glory, her beauty, her strength and power. She commanded fear and respect with her mere presence, even with her clear exhaustion she was still worth dying for. What did it matter to him what had happened in the past? What mattered was now. The phoenix was here and she was alive. That was all that mattered. Nothing else. Not even his own life.
Gianfar made a move to strike at 'Laurelite' again, his fist stopping mere inches from her face. Did he have anything?
...What...what did he have to protect aside from the Black Phoenix? He backed away, his fist shaking and his gaze unfocused. Was there anything that mattered more than him? What? What would...
Yes! Yes, there was. His head lifted sharply and his eyes narrowed in 'Laurelite's direction. "I would die for her." He already lost his starseed. What else did he have to lose? The next step was death, but he might as well consider himself dead already. He was but an empty shell of the Gianfar he once was. What did his life matter in comparison with the Black Phoenix? Even her own baby was realizing she was unwell, the scene he was seeing in the distance tore at his heart.

In hindsight, that was a pretty stupid attack. While Merope had managed to side-step Sailor Hel's initial 'I-will-jump-and-stab-you-with-this-pointy-thing,' he failed to side-step far enough. As the punch connected, he could feel Sailor Hel's fall on top of him, trapping him and entangling the pair briefly before they broke apart.
Sailor Merope rolled to his feet and spat out the ashy dirt that made its way into his mouth, swiping his glove quickly across his lips. "A better way? Ha! Your cause is hopeless. Death is the only way forward," he began to run towards her, "It's far too late to make amends, Corrupted Senshi!"
And then the first flake of ash touched him. Then the second. Third. Fourth. He could feel his movements slowing down as she continued to run at him quickly, quickly jabbing him in the leg as she passed. The burning fire of pain that shot up his leg wasn't affected by the ash.
Teeth were bared in a slow snarl as his reflexes tried in vain to catch up with the roaring demands of pain that overwhelmed his senses, demanding his full attention. Sailor Merope moved slowly, trying to spin in place and follow where Hel had gone.

He didn't like this. He didn't like how the kept attacking. To frantic, to wide spread. Falling back towards the great beast, Castor had his good wing brush her side. "Sup?"
Castor moved to climb atop the Black Phoenix. "Gotta admit, Always wanted an epic mount. And you my fine friend, are one epic mount."
He was smirking. "From there I could rain down some rather lovely ice damage. After all, need the high ground. to get a good layout. Hope you don't mind." He gave her a weak smile as she seemed to grow weaker. "Hang on a little while longer."

Bright eyes looked down at the girl whom she'd unsuccessfully tried to prevent from attacking the fading Phoenix. "It's never been about what I've wanted. Not once in my entire life has it EVER been about me." And it was true. Perseus lived her entire life for others, whether it be on the civilian or senshi side. She was as selfless sometimes as motherfreakingTeresa. "What do you know about me, filth? You are not worth being ground underneath the heel of my boot."
The emptiness got to her, it made her words and demeanor cold and hard to the outside world. Not a single compassion was given that day, not to anyone, and certainly not to the enemy she saw before her. "You do not know me well enough to judge me." With a cold stare, she turned her back and walked away, moving closer to the great creature to try and defend it.

"Perhaps you should" Came the cool reply... utterly reasonable. "For the greater good... think about it..." The voice soothing but judging. "You aren't thinking about anyone else you hurt... so let me SHOW you." 'She' lashed out a kick, trying to take the taller man down at the knees.
Cut them down to size, show them they were not as big or as self important as they thought they were. Show them what it was to take so much away.. after all, what had he left but to fight for those who couldn't fight for themselves...
God... he should really check and make sure that Ilmenite was alright too...he could see Schee was but...

Zero Dream She grapped his ankle, as if that would somehow stop him. As if it would somehow make him spare her.
As if ! Poor disillusioned soul.
Thankfully for her, the darker Themis had something his normal self didn't have so much of - cockyness.
He laughed that evil laugh again, as he looked down at her. She was struggling already. Pitiful. Truly pitiful.
Ahahaaaa~
Suddenly, she twisted. It wasn't enough, though. It did hurt, but it wasn't enough. Themis welcomed the pain gladly, and didn't give into her hold. He struggled to keep his foot right where it was.
"Ready to die yet ?" He pondered out loud. "Or maybe I should keep you. You make a nice toy." For all her struggling, Bellatrix couldn't help but giggle at that. And in a sugary sweet all-too-innocent voice, Bellatrix just looked up at him and said; "Silly, Themis! Don't you know? You already own me, heart and soul." It was perhaps distracting and unnerving enough for her to bring up her knee and try hitting the back of his knee. The one on the ground. Sure, if he fell, he'd probably fall on her, but at least she wouldn't be getting stepped on. And hey, in those self defense classes she was taking, she was getting pretty good at grappling...

"Yes a better way! If we come to peaceful terms no one has to die, no more innocent blood, no more war." She flinched, death was the only way forward, something she had believed strongly in, one for the good of many right? Still it was all messed up. Why did she feel so guilty, so angry, she knew what he was saying made some sense.
Even as he passed her tugged down by a cloud of ash she made no move to strike him. Instead she stabbed the spike into the ground cutting off her Senshi power arms crossed over the hole in her chest.
"I don't want to kill you, so stop trying to fight me.... we need to stop this cycle, it's not right, it's... it's wrong?"

Alkaid had tensed when she saw the glow of Nemesis' hands flickering to life - she could go to her death bravely, but she could not squash all fear of it. She tried to force herself to relax, but then those hands were on her, and she couldn't help the strain in her muscles.
At first it was just warm, but that warmth quickly spread to a burning pain, and that soon to a stinging. The dreads beneath Nemesis' hand began to rot, filling the air with the smell of burnt hair, and long pieces began to tumble down her back to the ground. Her clothing disappeared even faster, and then both her scalp and back were exposed.
The next thing Alkaid knew was only pain. Searing, burning pain that filled her and blinded out all other senses. Her hands curled into fists as she tried to fight off the urge to scream and her nails dug so hard into her palms with that effort that they ripped clean through the thin fabric of her gloves, right into the flesh beneath.
It was too much.
She could feel her skin bubbling, blackening and peeling away to expose fresh, new layers. She could almost hear it, like a crackling fire in her ears, only this pain was more than just a flame in her back. Finally, she couldn't contain herself anymore, and as Nemesis burnt through layers of flesh on her back and scalp, the first scream ripped out of her throat of its own accord.
It filled the air, ringing out in the night amidst the battles that went on around them. She tried to fall forward, to support herself on her hands, but Nemesis' grip help her up. Instead, her body convulsed and caused her back to arch sharply. She writhed beneath Nemesis' torturous hands, but the only indication of any fight left in her was that scream.
That haunting scream of someone dying a slow, painful death.

Ilmenite looked like s**t: swollen-faced, his hands bloodied, his cheek bloodied, his clothing dirty and torn. But he also looked determined, calmly shouting at the creature as he flung more rocks upward in its direction.
It was hard to make out the words, but they sounded very much like biblical verse.

Bellatrix cast confusion.
It's.... super-effective.
"...What ?" There was utter disbelief in his expression. Why would he want something like her ? Why would he want to love her ?
It was more than long enough for her to hit, and he crashed down on her like a card castle. "You... !!!!"
Normally, this might have been a little kinky.

Why were they fighting over this? Scylla frowned, and changed tactics.
"I -won't- let you hurt it!" she snarled, and decided that if the other woman couldn't be trusted to be peaceful, she'd just stay trussed up, until she could be dealt with by the beast she'd wanted to slay.
And then she chased after Zanazzite.

Prince Castor might have thought he was aligned with the Black Phoenix, but she knew better. When he approached, she buffeted out one wing, swatting him away. No -- she couldn't quit. Just like the Negas themselves, the Great Youma had a job to do. She got to her feet, massive feathered tail flicking out behind her. Her wings spread wide, but flight was impossible. Instead, she glided down to the concrete battlefield below, landing harshly in the center of the field. Her life was slipping away, but the Great Youma had one last trick up her sleeve. The illusion of good-and-bad lifted. The senshi realized their mistake, the Negas too. They knew which side they were fighting for now and didn't question it. But there was something else. Across the field, several Negaverse agents were consumed suddenly by shadow, popping from human form into the raw power of a youma. A baby phoenix youma, to be precise. Glowing eyes in a rainbow of colors fixed on the Black Phoenix as she collapsed in the center of the field. The energy radiating off of her said one thing: Protect me. THE END OF THE BLACK PHOENIX THE BLACK PHOENIX HAS 37 HP REMAINING.
All players have returned to their original sides. Everyone rolls ONE 20-sided die. Senshi attack; Negas defend. In this round, a senshi may attack once every ten minutes OR immediately after one of their attacks has been blocked.
BUT ALL NEGAS MUST roll ONE 6-sided die. If you receive an ODD number, you will transform into a youma for the final round. If you receive an EVEN, you remain in your human form.
Youma!Negas roll TWO 20-sided die and add together those numbers to determine if they succeed in deflecting senshi attacks.

Asclepius jerked awake again, in the hollow empty space where she had taken refuge. However she had fallen asleep, she felt somewhat refreshed mentally, but her body still ached. She pushed herself up and stepped back out to survey the field of battle ... and found it much changed since she had been out there before.
A great dark bird filled the sky, and the Senshi of Medicine felt sympathy for it, trying to fly free over the wreckage of the building, but held down by various attackers.
And that feeling of rage reappeared in her. Even stronger than before, perhaps, as she held no doubts now over her feelings towards annihilating all those who stood against her. And who wanted to destroy the phoenix in all its beautiful darkness. Asclepius ran back towards the battle, backpack bobbing largely forgotten against her back for the moment, her eyes seeking only targets.
