He chuckled a moment and put his right hand to his chin stroking his goatee some. "A matriarchal society interesting. unfortunately we humans take great stock in equality however wrong our sins of the past might be int hat department. he shrugged after a moment and laughed at her comment on him teaching. "Well truth be told nt that many people saw fit to look into politics and economic lessons, especially from a grizzled old pitbull as myself." he said chuckling a little bit more. Frowning a bit as he looked at the glow he sighed shaking his head. "No such luck for you I'm afraid, no flashy trickery only good shields and bullets for me, I was a field medic."

He nodded poking his eyepatch with his right hand "Yea, nice little souvineer from my last little adventure damn turbans and mountains. so much sand it was horrible got everywhere you know. and a couple nice scars on my chest as well." he said after a moment and then looks down at his nub of wrist. "That was my own doing, I was a prosthetic surgeon and researcher before I listed for the service." he said coughing a little bit.

He chuckling looking at her and smiling kindly "Ah I must apologize, I'm so used to my world that i do not realize that some don't know what i say, I was a healer of sorts, and made fake limbs to replace those lost." he said after a moment and coughed covering his mouth with his nub. "I must admit I still have functioning limbs and such but i need to repair them or mend them if you will every so often." he said after a moment coughing again. and then chuckled for a moment and poked her on the shoulder "I know how the body works and where the nerves are now your body on the other hand." he coughed for a moment to clear his throat "I'm not so sure what I could do if you were to come to me bleeding with quite the large gash in your belly wouldn't even know where to begin only shape is in common with humans and from there it would be a guessing game wouldn't want to puncture any vital organs or do some other kind of mischief now would I." he said and continued walking before stopping abruptly and shaking himself "That is by the way just a hypothetical scenario mind you, I've seen enough blood in my life and more then my fair share on my hands both from those I tried to save and those i had to kill." he said closing his eye shaking his head and continuing on glancing at the grounds of the gardens every now and again as his mind wandered.

He shrugged. "No I'm not upset yes it hurts the memories but, not so much anymore." he said coughing after a moment as he walked with her feeling her loneliness was over him in waves and thought for a moment of what he could say without harming her pride. "Now what might I ask is such a lovely bird such as yourself doing all by her lonesome on a night like this when you could be off having a drink or causing some other sort of mischief with friends or meeting people?" he asked kindly.

He chuckled a bit and looked down at her and shrugged "Young not so much but thank you for the handsome part." he nodded a bit more as he listened to her tale of her home and wondered for a moment. "My anxiety causes a burning sensation in my arms and upper thighs I needed some air and have always enjoyed the night considering." he said stretching his arm out a bit and letting his jacket and long sleeved tunic fall to reveal a small patch of white skin that wasn't covered in tattoos. "I'm so pale I glow in the dark almost, that is when I was younger I have a wee more ink to color my body now, and that was oh let's see almost thirty years ago." he said scratching his chin for a moment with his right hand. then shrugged after a moment "must be hard to live in a cut throat world like that if I might say so, I've been treated by dirt and surrounded by chaos since i joined the different armies I was a part of and still found comrades to be had."

He shook his head after a moment chuckling "Oh thats something I'm quickly finding out compared to the older races I'm nothing more then a child while I'm quickly going over the hill to humans." he said and made a somewhat comical face. He chuckled after a moment and then looked down at her "Well, ifin they sent you here, your no longer liable to their rules but the combined statutes of this school." he said with a smile. smiling some more he reached into his coat with his right hand and pulled out his revolver "Besides magic might be of the mind, and any wit can be outsmarted but nothing outsmarts bullet." he said simply.

He chuckled looking over her body for a moment and then sighed "You may call me Devlin after school hours but during school I'm Mr. Graham." he said chuckling then cowboy style holstered his pistol twirling it a couple times rather deftly in his fingers by the trigger guard and slamming it back into place on his right hip and hidden by his coat. "Well the wisdom of the bullet isn't of much use unless in danger then He is a right smart one, when he's fast and makes the mark, otherwise the bayonet is a fine chap indeed." he said chuckling a little bit at his military humor.
