Help the dragons...
Kain followed Bethan watching his feet a tight collar around neck. She still didn't trust him but a collar of all things....next would be a muzzle. Oh well, if it stopped her carring around the knife it would be ok as a tempory arrangement. He sighed yet again in which earned him a large tug. "ugh....Bethan are we there yet...."
Bethan turned around and stopped. Kain waited for the air to settle before even trying to move.
"Have, you seen something?" he asked nerviously. "They sell sushi?
Kain sniffed the air unable to see thanks to the blindfold he was forced to wear. At least that was for protection. The scent of raw fish was certainly amongest the faintest of the scents, people are always around making it harder.
"...Yes"
"Come one" Bethan said with a laugh. She was happy....that was a scary thought - unless she was finally getting used to him...well that would be enough for now. Little things require too much thought these days. He followed her passing a happier pair.

Kain looked up after being refered to and opened his mouth to speak. Bethan just stopped shocking the boy considerably.

"Wa-"
"Closed for lunch?"
"Erm...Bethan, we are being watched"
"Heh, well lets hope its not another theif like you!"
"But-"
"No buts, get moving or talk"
"Fine then..."

Kain turned back and tried to move forward, another mistake. What was the likely hood she was going to move for him. He pulled slight causing her to let go of more of the leash. He breathed slightly easier and waved towards the girls hoping for a reply. He wasn't the bravest when people played his own game...especially like this.

Kain laughed loosening the collar slightly. "Yes, although some here refuse to believe it" he said with a side look towards his guardian. "So your a Herald too.....angelic as ever" he commented watching the dark colours of his wings reflect themselves into the young girls eyes. Bethan kicked a stone in Kains direction. "Making friends already....your getting just like her. Keep acting like that and i might actually like you, don't get your hopes up - im waiting for my sushi" Bethan called over to him her tone unreadable.

Kain took a few steps back feeling a little uncomfortable. No-one had ever paid this much attension to him before. "Well, there are quite a few around and about, you just need to look i suppose, especially now everyones enjoying the sunshine" he said uneasly trying to get the attension off himself slightly. Maybe he could focus her on...herself? "So, Fiona....im Kain Nigel by the way" he added quickly realizing he had completly forgotten."Erm, whats it like at home?" Silly question but its the only thing he could think of. Bad timing too, Bethan had pretty much given up and came over to join them, throwing the leash over Kains shoulder. This was going to get interesting.

He felt a lot easier now but the convasation was getting confusing. Kain decieded only to answer to her last question as it would be easier, at least until he could figre out what was going on. "No, never had a pet in my life....at least not that i can remember, although i like watching the birds on the window sill" he replied as honestly as he knew. "Do you have a favourite?" he added to keep the convasation going.

Bethan watched the two not notcing the others presence. She was starting to wonder if Kain really was a herald. Especially the way he was acting. The smell of sushi was a lot closer though, maybe she could leave him here, that would save alot of trouble. No, no she promised to take care of him. Her rodent tails flicked back and forth as she considered it.

Kain pulled at the blindfold, this convasation was running faster than a tap. "Well, i've never managed to see one properly since its never been dark enough for me, but i like to listen to their song when im alone....so it was have to be a nightingale, pure music...." he sighed realizing how long it had been since he heard one or even seen anything worthwhile. He brought his hand away from the blindfold after tucking it back in place. It was worn enough to see through but the light was starting to hurt. Kain Nigel decided to he would soon need to fix it, maybe going back to the shrine. He brought his thoughts back to young one. "So Cassie is your guardian i take it or is she a family friend?"

The hybrid mind was made up on word 'guardian' it was the first time she had thought of it although but to be honest with herself it was true. No matter how much they fought, agrued she was going to take care of him because no-one else would. Plus there was always that strange mumbling in the boys sleep that made her worry. Kain seemed to jump as she stood beside him. She stroked his wings slightly trying to calm him down. "This...this is Bethan, she looks after me" She nodded and replied "You looks like your having fun but...." she gritted her teeth because trying to speak again. "wouldn't you prefer to move this chat into a cafe or something....standing in the middle of the street like this isn't...." she let the sentense hang. It was making her feel comfortable. Her only problem now was that if they decided to group together and have a sit down....well she would have to start treating Kain as an equal - a male as an equal.

Kain started to be a little more alert as the other two were talking now. "Cute laugh, but i think we are going now....maybe we can get something to eat together, Bethan and I havn't eaten yet, well as far I know" he said holding out a hand. It was a subconscious habit, something he had wished for when he left home and one of his better memories.

"I didn't even think of sunblock, suprising neither have complained, although i doubt Kain will" she answered keeping her eyes on the two before finally turning to Cassie. "So yes, i think thats suitable, depending on the questions of course. I trust your okay with leaving them together then." she stated picking up the end of the leash to give it a little tug and then watching Kain lead as always. He knew the streets better than herself, also she didn't want him too far out of her sight. Bethan smiled glad that didn't have to sit with a lower ranking - male although slightly upset that Fiona had to go. She was curious about heralds.
"Do you know a good place?"
