Lisa felt Dan's fingers brush against her palm as he handed her his finished note. She took a moment first to look at his writing. She smiled looking at it, and then she began to focus on his words.
I have never let a guy into my head... at least, not until I met you.
She wrote carefully, making sure every letter was perfect.
You allow me to feel so differently than I've ever felt before Dan.
That has to stand for something.
I enjoy the contact we have with each other. I enjoy having you close.
It makes me feel like I'm on clouds, like I am protected. Like...
She paused in her writing, sitting back as she thought. She left her paper open so that if he wanted he could look at it and read what she already had written.
I could do anything, or say anything, and you'd always care.
I would love to hold your hand.
Smiling she finished the note and passed it over back to him, and at that time she also let her hand rest on the small space between them, where it would wait for his hand to join hers.

It seemed Lisa was right about Mindy. She was watching them rather focused but she didn't act against them as they passed notes back and forth from one to the other. Dan looked at the notepad and smiled. In these few words she has just admitted that she trusted him as much as he trusted her. He was thrilled for without trust no relationship would survive he figured.
Dan did not right anything this time. He knew a touch could convey more then any written word can begin to muster as he reached down and touched her hand and closed his around it gently as he squeezed. He pulled her hand up like in the pizza place and kissed her knuckles defiantly against Mindy's wishes. It was the best thug he could think next to a kiss upon her cheek or even her lips. He so looked forward to a time when he might experience those full lovely lips upon his. He heard it was an amazing experience in time.

Mindy nibbled on her lip. She wanted to bark at them and make them stop, but she really had no power over them. That was Jay's job. Part of her did not like Dan for the fact that he met her here. She didn't know what was on his mind, what his motives were. She didn't know him, and therefor she believed she couldn't trust him. She continued to watch them, hoping that she could make them feel a little uncomfortable. But then she decided to try a different approach. She sat up quickly, making her stomach heave for a second, she lay back at the head of the bed. "Would you like to come sit with me Dan. I would love to get to know you." She said patting the bed beside her.
Lisa looked over at Dan and sighed. She smiled though, trying to put her irritations behind her. "You don't have to." She mouthed to him. "But if you'd like, then you may." Lisa wanted to run off at this time, she wanted to go and hide, with Dan, somewhere else. She squeezed his hand gently in hers, and after he kissed it tenderly she pulled his hand back to her and placed it against her cheek. She looked into his eyes and smiled at him.

Dan smiled at Lisa still and nodded. We have the next few days to get to be together. There shouldn't be any harm in answering any questions she might have. " Dan said as he squeezed Lisa's hand gently again. It was a reassuring feeling he enjoyed. "Why don't you come with me as we talk. You never know. You might learn something new about me."

Lisa smiled at Dan and gently shook his hand. She nodded. "Alright Dan." Lisa said and she began to move to the edge of the bed. "Maybe we should sit here Mindy, and you can sit there. I just don't know how many of us can be on one bed, besides, hopefully Jay will be out and feeling better soon. I think she wants to talk about things, and about the future." Lisa said leaning close to Dan and waited for him to join her.
"Ya, I guess that would be find." Mindy said in this new, kinder tone. She reached up and tapped the bottom of her glasses with her palm and cleared her throat. She looked at Dan and smiled at him, almost a little too charmingly. "So Dan, what do you do back at home? I don't necessarily mean a profession, but how do you spend your day?" She asked and folded her hands in her lap.

Dan scratched the side of his head thoughtfully. I don't do much of anything at this point. See I am out of the military and I haven't got a new job. While I was at home I came into a bad spell of lack of self confidence and I met Lisa online. She was a friend who was very good at cheering me up and gave me the courage to reach out and try new things. Other then that I go to church every weekend when I am able to go. When I am not online I have been watching anime thanks to the popularity of it these past few years as well." Dan said confidently as he moved closer to Lisa to give Mindy space and ultimately be as close to her as possible. "Is there anything else you want to know?"

Mindy nodded as Dan spoke. She made note to tell Jay that her younger sister's boyfriend was a bum. This was all due to her perception of the young man. "Very nice." She said, creating a mask to her inner thoughts. "What kind of animes do you watch? What about when you were in school, did you have any hobbies then? What about your girlfriends? Please, tell me all the juicy details." She said leaning forward and resting her chin in her hands. She had taken on a gossiping tone which, she noticed, made Lisa blush brightly.

Dan blushed too. He had a girlfriend in high school but it didn't work out between them in the end. Of course he didn't expect such a personal question to be slipped into a group of questions like that but he wanted to be as honest as he could.
"Well I like some of the mainstream stuff like Bleach but I also like some of the stuff I see on the internet like I recently saw Shakugan no Shana. I guess generally I like action anime's but romance things don't bother me. When I was in school I played D&D with my friends and read. I also watched TV and played videogames." Dan said addressing the basics. Now he gulped and let the truth be told. I had one girlfriend in the past. I met her in 11th grade and things didn't work out between us so we broke up later on. I am afraid I don't have any juicy details for you though. I am sorry to disappoint you."

Jay leaned back agsint the bathroom wall after loosing her dinner to the toilet and sighed. She let her head rest aginst the wall and muttered, "Didn't think it was supposed to be like this after dinner, guess Im gonna have to adjust my diet even more." Sighing again deeply testing her stomach she slowly stood up and walked to the small sink. Taking the time to wash her face and then grab one of the plastic wrapped cups to get some water she looked in teh mirror and muttered, "Damn, I look rough.... but I'm not stayin in here the rest of the night."
She washed her face angain and refilled the plastic cup with water and set it on the sick while she dried her face and cleaned up. Grabbing the water cup she took a deep but slightly shaky breath and walked back into the room. Catching the site on Lisa's bed and Mindy giving a questionair to Dan she could not help but laugh a bit and was not able to stop herself as she said, "Well that many entertainment activities, it's a wonder you had time to sleep." Taking a swallow of her water she went and sat donw on teh floor between teh two bed and took another deep breath, "sorry about the bathroom, looks like i'm going to have ot avoid the peppers for a few months." Without missing a second she looked at Mindy adn smiled, letting her friend see the wink she gave her, "Please continue, don't let me stop you, I'll listen and you guys can predend I'm back in the bathroom." She leaned back a bit and moved her arms behind her and stretched her legs out, knowing her best friend would grill the two just as good as she could and MIndy would probally be a little more polite about it than she would at this moment, especailly after loosing her dinner.

Mindy leaned forward eagerly. He hadn't mentioned any anime that she found to be perverted, which was good, or contain...very many suggestive women. The high school story went along well too. She sat back a little and hummed to herself. "Yes, very interesting." She said softly. Her eyes still searched him, trying to find something new. He seemed fairly innocent with such a blush, or was that because he was hiding something?
Mindy looked up at her friend as she entered the room again. She smiled empathetically at her. She wanted to ask Jay how she was feeling and help sooth the feeling over. She didn't look so well. It would be best if she gave it some time and relaxed. She wouldn't bring up the thought before the other two though. She turned back to Dan and opened her mouth to ask some more questions when she was once again interrupted.
"A few months sis?" Lisa asked looking over at her sister with a look of confusion and concern. "What's up?" She asked taking Dan's arm into hers and laying her head against his shoulder. He was her teddy bear now.
Mindy hurriedly jumped in at this point, "So are you the type of guy who gets along with people Dan?" She asked turning the attention, she hoped, back to him. "What do you think of Jay here? Be truthful alright kid." She said with a pleasant smile, but something in her voice hinted business.

Dan's focus was drawn away from Mindy for a moment as Jay came back and at the gentle embrace of Lisa upon his arm. Soon enough she continued her questions with something about Jay. He wanted to hear Jay's Response to Lisa's question since it was a strange thing to say.
"Well...she genuinely cares for Lisa which I appreciate and she is a bit on the intimidating side but I appreciate that she is because Lisa's safety is important to me too." Dan said confidently to Mindy as he looked right at her. "Other then that I look forward to learning more about her and everyone in Lisa's life as I live and work with all of you."

Mindy smiled at Dan as he spoke. She could tell he had a good heart. He seemed to have a certain charm, it was a wonder he had found little Lisa of all people to be attracted to. "And I am sure we all are excited about getting to more about you and your family. Some things you can't learn from questions, but you must learn from seeing how a person is when they're out in the open." She said looking between the two sitting on the bed. "You can tell many things from a person's voice, almost more than the spoken word." Mindy said and smiled down at Jay. "Are you a sociable young fellow Dan?" Mindy asked. "Do you get along well with people, even when you know they're wrong and you're right? When you have a problem, are you able to talk about it?" Mindy asked, this time with her eyes falling on Lisa who seemed to try and hide against his shoulder. "Communication is the key to relationships, it is the secrete to loyalty. Are you good with communication?" She asked looking once again at Dan.

(sorry so long RL was a busy beaver for me the past couple days )
Jay only nodded her head to tell her friend she would be ok when mindy looked at her. Relaxing as she watched and listend to everything going on she sighed at her sisters question. She did not want to interrupt Mindy’s questioning of Dan so she told her sister, “I’ll explain after Mindy’s satisfied and feels better about thigns.” Listening to more of the question and answer she hoped that Mindy would continue more since Dan was not intimidated by her and might just open up more to Mindy verses herself. But she could not help but mutter about him finding her even a little intimidating, “you think I’m intimidating wait till you meet Rock.” But even still she could not help a quiet laugh because he was right about one thing, her wanting her sister safe. But even she knew that Lisa had to learn things on her own, but she also wanted to make certain as Lisa grew up that she would always be there for her.
As she listened she smiled as Mindy’s questions seemed to grow more blunt by the minute, something she knew was questions that would have to be answered since he was someone new to the family and they were questions she was certain that her sister would have to answer for Dan’s family too. Only fair since they were wanting to become a couple and bring together two families that did not know each other, or that the kids were even interested in the other.

Lisa frowned lightly. She respected her sister's answer, but did not like it. She understood though, this was Dan's turn to answer questions. She reached down and took his hand in hers, hoping to give him strength. This last question, she felt, was an accusation towards her, the girl who ran away from home to frolic in down town Tukwila with a complete stranger. But she knew he wasn't as much of a stranger as they thought. She already knew the answer to these questions, most of them. Looking up at Dan she wondered what of these questions could he answer of her? "Rocky is a scary, pink, fluffy bunny." She retorted to her sister's remark. "He may be scary at first, but once you get to know him you find the mouse behind the lion, not to say he is a mouse, but first impressions with him are often wrong. Well they're wrong if you're going to become his friend, which I'm sure you will Dan." She said and began soothing Dan's hand with her thumb.
"When are we going to be talking about business Jay, isn't that what you wanted to talk about tonight. There will be many nights still for questions. So what's up Jay, why aren't you feeling well this evening?" She asked with a frown.

Dan did not responded immediately as he thought about the question. It seemed to be a little weighted and jsut blurting out an answer might have seemed brash. Lisa's hand offered him great comfort as he focused on Mindy a moment later. "I would like to think if I believed in something strongly and I can back it up then I would discus why I believe why I think why I do. however no person is perfect and even the smartest people in the world can not be right all the time. However I am also a little on the shy at times with people I meet on my own. I hope to have more confidence in my own social skills in the future though."
