"The good news is I got the list and didn't get shot." He said, holding up a flash drive. "Got the student directory here, we can cross-reference it with the list we got and go from there."

"Whadya think I was sitting in that room for the past hour or so doing?" Olivia snorted. She grabbed the Zippo out of her pocket, glaring at it as if all of this was it's fault.
Finally working up the motivation to get up, Adam walked forward, letting Zipper lead him to the others, "S-so does that m-mean Mr Crane doesn't have it?"

Rook shook his head. "We took the list when we snatched you from him. The List never left the school," Rook looked to Olivia, shrugging his shoulders, "Hell if I know. I've never really been a trainer, so I have no clue what's going on with your powers," Then, finally, turning his attention to Jeffery, "Well, that's good. The sooner we can go over that, the sooner me and my group can go out and start talking to these folks."

The young woman in the Chinese dress cocked her head to the side before her face lite up. "Oh! You can't talk." Tyson smiled politely and nodded a yes. "Well then, I'll just let you write down your order and-" She turned away towards the counter and made a move to get an order pad but stopped by a firm grip at her wrist. She looked back to see the young mute's hand holding her arm. In his other hand, held between two finger was the envelope, the strange emblem purposely angled in the light so it would show clearly.
The expression Tyson now wore matched his curious mood. What is this? Who are you? What is this place? Three question asked with one expression.

"That would be the idea." Jeffery commented, tossing Rook the drive.

The expression Tyson now wore matched his curious mood. What is this? Who are you? What is this place? Three question asked with one expression. The waitress openly paled at the sight of the letter. She didn't pull her wrist from the boy's hand but remained where she was trying to cover her own reaction with a look of confusion. "We don't take checks." She said, the tone of her voice slightly off as she tried to hide the undertone of fear.

Tyson was shocked at the reaction he got and slowly let the waitress's wrist. He looked confused, lost by the woman's display. Whatever he had stumbled into, this was serious. "What is this about?" he asked in his toneless whisper. "Who was the man who was carrying this?" The boy stopped, mouth agape as he reconsidered asking the next question he so desperately wanted to asked. He withdrew into his seat, then looked again to the woman. If his voice wasn't controlled by his powers, it would be noticeably shaky as he asked, "Why was he killed?"

((Nessesitan ayuda, por favor!! If I post sometin out of place, let me know 'k?))
Maya tossed her dreads impatiently. Dumb lists. I guess it's nessessary, but it's pretty dangerous to be hunting up some super powered kids. Whatever. She listened a little closer to the flash drive. It was spouting something about unfinished business. "H-hey guys...Can I see that flash drive for a second?" Maya gently picked up the flash drive and held it up to her ear. She nodded occasionally, then returned it to Rook. "It says there was relevant data that you had passed up on the server. I don't really know what or anything, now it's off on a tangent about some user that always stored his lame love stories on it or something. I'm guessing that we can't go back and get this other crap, right?" She shook her head and crossed her arms.
((P.S. I'm writing a book and wanted to know if anyone wanted to read some of it. This is the best place I could think of to get source materials and ideas. I'm not comfortable writing a book on my own, even though I have 16 chapters already.))

((The lappy and the flash drive were both new, bought on the way to the school and only handled by Crane and a couple other Keepers. Not much else to go with, although I can prolly fudge up some things that the drive overheard.))
Rook looked to Jeffery, "Think you're up to coming with us? You apparently know how to defend yourself. Having another fighter in case things go down will be handy."

((Thats what I was afraid of. Umm...Well I guess I'll just forge ahead and make some more blunders!...Oh, wait, no I'm not.))
"More fighting? I suppose. If I get to beat on a few Keepers, what the hell. I'm in." She pulls an assortment of PVC pipe and wood chunks out of her coat and assembles them into a crossbow, which she props on her shoulder and grins devilishly. "They won't know what hit 'em!"

"We're hoping that we won't have to end up fighting them, and we can just pick these kids up and come back to base, mission acomplished."

She paused, a moment, trying to regain her composure. "Did he give it to you?"

Roxanna came out of the bathroom wearing a bath robe, her hair wet and dangling down her back. "My hands are getting wrinkly. I truly wish my power had a way for dealing with that." She glanced at Rook and Maya, "Jarred has met up with Katherine and Sam." Her eyes turned to Jeffery, "I'm sure Rook and Maya could use your help. Unless there is something more pressing you have to get to."

Tyson released the woman's arm and sat back in the booth. He swallowed hard before answering, "He washed up on the shore. He was shot in the chest, I think. The letter was sticking out of his pocket and..." He took a short, almost unnoticeable pause. He couldn't say he just took the letter and pushed the body back out to sea. "I grabbed the letter before the sea took the body again."
Tyson put the letter on the table and stared at it. "I read the letter. I figured it was all mob type stuff. I mean, seriously, I'm just a street bum. but the way everything is worded. The blues, a psychic.... I don't know what this all means, but I'm very sure that this has to do with the strange things people are starting to be able to do." He didn't want to straight up say he had powers, granted, he still felt like he was in the middle of some weird gang movie, but that was honestly what this was about. besides, it wasn't like anyone but her would be able to hear his toneless whispering voice. It didn't carry far.
"I'm not sure who the letter was for, but this feels big. And, somehow, I just know that this has something to do with how I'm able to speak. I wasn't kidding before. I'm really mute."
