Everything seemed to happen in slow motion, yet Keegan could do nothing to prevent himself from coming down had on the cold ground after having his legs swept out from under him by Mai. However, as she got to her feet to run he was already doing the same, stumbling a bit as his previous exhaustion seemingly vanished and a surge of adrenaline took it's place. "Not so fast!" he yelled, quickly giving chase. He caught up to her rather quickly and he lunged forward, tackling her at the waist. They both hit the grass with a thud, along with the telltale sound of a few more rips appearing in Keegan's already ruined clothes. "Give me that Pokeball!" he shouted, groping around for the proper pocket she'd stashed it in. "I know you've got it s-somewhere!"

It was definitely Marina's turn to look worried as once again her Golduck recovered from a solid hit. "Uh, c-counter with your Water Pulse," the blue-haired girl called, a bit uncertainly. Golduck climbed back out of the water yet again, his gem giving off a slight blue flash before he unleashed a burst of water at Tingle, who was also in the midst of recovering from the previous attack. The Water Pulse slammed into Tingle, knocking it back a bit, though it did recover quite quickly.

Thank goodness I always have Tingle to fall back on, Miharu thought with a slight sigh, but paused. Wait, did I just say I could rely on Tingle? Never thought that would happen! The small girl giggled to herself, and smiled at her Metang. It sure had come a long way in the past little while. "Shake it off and use Aerial Ace!" she called, wanting to end this. It was still a while before the ferry would arrive, and she wanted to get some training in with Sparkle and Petunia before it did.

The Metang zipped forward for a third time, water droplets glistening against it's shiny, steel body and it extended it's claws, and once again the Golduck was unable to defend from the strike. Now looking a lot weaker, the Duck Pokemon stood shakily on the spot, panting heavily. Marina was looking less and less confident as the match wore on, as she had no idea how to counter a strange Pokemon like Metang.

Jason had been asleep for quite some time, more than he should have been that was for sure. It was already past noon and he was still snoring loudly on the couch, with no signs of moving. Zeus hovered about staring blankly at Jason with his single eye, giving him a few more minuets to wake up on his own. But when it was clear that he would not stir, Zeus had no choice to hover a bit closer to Jason and let loose a little jolt of electricity, just strong enough to get his attention. "Gravy!" Jason shot right up, jumping up off the couch and landing on the floor. "Who, wha, when!?" He looked around trying to make sense of everything, his eyes falling on Zeus who was staring at him. "You! But...but why!?" Jason grabbed Zeus and shook him around a bit, suddenly stopping as he fell back asleep. Zeus shocked him again and Jason jumped up again, though not as hard as before. "What? Where...Oh right. Again Zeus!? It's only...12:30? Oh damn. Thanks buddy." Jason looked around, the house was empty. It appeared that the daycare couple had gone out to work raising the pokemon that they were given. Jason scratched his head yawning, deciding to take a quick shower before leaving. As he made for the exit, Zeus shot in front of him and impeded his progress. "Hey buddy, what's the problem?" Jason looked around the room, noticing that he had forgotten the container with his egg, face palming as he ran back to get it. Holding the container in his arms he grinned as he made for the exit again, Zeus letting him through this time. "Thanks Zeus, don't know what I'd do without you." Zeus just stared at him and nodded slightly, following Jason out the door. "Alright! Research time! Come on Zeus, let's find us some more pokemon to observe ok?" The headed back towards Mauville, not really sure where they would go from there.

Riza heard Eris grunt as she tackled Kakuna, but there was no other sound from the Cyndaquil even after Jaeshan had issued his command, so she could only hope that it had missed. The smoke was already starting to clear up, as Eris was young and still relatively unable to generate a lot of smoke, but it was a start, at least. 'Nothing we can really do but keep tackling Kakuna,' Riza thought with a nod. "Okay Eris, tackle again!" she called.

The Cyndaquil nodded a bit apprehensively, having seen the flurry of poisoned needles miss her, and she didn't really want to get that close to Kakuna anymore, but she wanted to impress Riza so she dashed forward again and jumped at the cocoon Pokemon, rolling herself into a ball in the process to try and score a stronger hit on the immobile Kakuna.

It didn't take Katie long to lose her way within the large city, and she could feel Genki squeeze her a little tighter as they rode deeper and deeper into the heart of Hearthome. There were many people all around them, and various Pokemon too, but Katie got the idea that most of these people weren't trainers. A lot of the Pokemon looked well pampered and spoiled, some sporting some expensive and even eccentric looking outfits. Katie could hear Genki snickering behind them as they saw a rather irate looking Kadabra that had apparently been forced into a pricey yet overly gaudy dress. Katie slowed down as they came to a set of traffic lights and she set her feet on the ground, looking around in disdain. "I have no idea where we're supposed to be going," she said. Genki chattered in agreement as he watched a bus zip by, and there on the other side of the street, he spotted a uniformed police officer out on patrol with an orange and black-striped canine Pokemon, and he tapped Katie on the shoulder and pointed. "Oh, good idea, Genki, we can ask her for directions to the pokecenter!"

The duo waited for the light to change and made their way along the crosswalk. "Hey, Officer!" Katie called as they neared the policewoman. "I need assistance!"

The officer and her Pokemon turned and looked at Katie and her Monferno, though the Pokemon immediately got into a defensive position and growled sharply at the strangers. "Heel, Growlithe," the officer said sharply, and just like that, the puppy Pokemon sat down at her side, though he continued to watch the two with suspicious eyes. "Of course, what can I help you with?" she asked, looking at Katie curiously.

"I need directions to the pokecenter," the orange haired girl answered matter-of-factly, her ruby eyes staring up at the officer almost blankly. "It is important that I get there as soon as possible." Genki was watching the Growlithe with keen interest, and he stuck his tongue out at the canine, causing it to growl again.

"Sure, of course," the officer nodded, a bit off put by Katie's blunt reply. "Follow this street until you come across a cathedral. If you head north at that intersection, it should bring you to the pokecenter in no time at all," she explained before casting a sharp look at her Growlithe.

Katie looked in the direction the officer was pointing, and nodded. "Thank you very much," she said, wasting no time in pedaling off in the indicated direction, Genki making faces at the Growlithe until he couldn't see it anymore.

Mai had no idea how many steps she'd managed to take before she felt herself being hauled down, and all she could think was that she should have stayed in her room instead of venturing outside. The next thing she knew, Keegan was grabbing frantically for the sphere that held the captive Raichu, and she gasped as she felt him groping places that definitely were not the Pokeball. "Get off!" she shouted, swinging her arms wildly as she tried to fight him off. "Take your filthy hands off me, you degenerate swine!" Struggle as she might, however, the redhead definitely stronger than she was and had the upperhand, and as much as it both disgusted and excited her to admit it, she was completely at his mercy.
=-=-=-=-=

Jaeshan noticed that the smoke was starting to clear as well, and he could just make out Kakuna's shape in the haze that remained, though as he looked on he saw the ball-shaped Cyndaquil slam into the Bug-type once more, this time with a lot more force. Kakuna lost his balance and teetered for a few seconds before toppling over. If the Kakuna could have made a face, it would have been one of utter annoyance - he certainly couldn't wait to be out of this god-forsaken cocoon!

"Use String Shot to get yourself back up again," Jaeshan called, a little amused by his Pokemon's predicament. He remembered just how patient Butterfree had been while she was in her Metapod stage, and he wondered just how well Kakuna would cope while awaiting evolution. Kakuna released thin strand of string, arching it up towards the nearest tree branch he could see. Once the line was secured he pulled himself up before releasing another wide spray of the sticky silk. With any luck he'd be able to entangle the swift little Cyndaquil.

Robin perked up when her pokemon gave her good replies. Giggling happily she looked down at herself and rocked happily in her new boots wiggling her toes in them. "Heh, well if you guys like it and I like it then there isn't really a problem." Turning towards Charlie she gave him a wide smile and was about to say something when something yellow dashed by and before they knew it the cash register that was on Charlie's little table was missing. Blinking in surprise Robin stared at the missing register before turning to look in the direction that the yellow blur had gone. "What the?" She muttered as she caught a glimpse of whatever it was rounding the corner. "Gah Luffy give chase to whatever that is!" Robin ordered just in time.

Jumping to attention Luffy grinned and dashed off after the yellow blur. This was gunna be fun. Chasing was always a fun thing to do and he was going to get that yellow thing that was for sure. Grabbing a bar with one tail he launched himself around the corner flying fast towards the very fast blur. It was really fast! It was pulling ahead of him and that was definitely not supposed to happen! That didn't mean that he couldn't go faster either though! Taking a deep breath he focused his energy into his body and felt his blood start to pump a little harder as he activated his Agility. Body glowing he ran even faster his speed now matching that of the yellow blur. Still matching the speed did not let him catch up to the thing.

Back with Robin she was trying her best to help a distraught Charlie who was crying. "Now now Charlie! Luffy will catch that thing!" Robin promised her voice full of hope.

"Oh thank you Robin. I need the money in there. I need to pay for the rent on this stand today and if I don't get it back soon I won't be able to keep my shop up!" Charlie wailed.

"What! Someone would close down your store? Oh that's totally not cool!" She growled. "Ok Charlie hold on I am going to go help Luffy. I promise you I will be back with your register in time!" She promise pumping her fist into the air and taking off after Luffy and the yellow thing. "Brook!" She called out to the Skiploom that was floating at her side easily. "I need you to get up higher and lead me to Luffy. I don't know where he is and I need your eye in the sky to find him." She ordered running down the ally way. Brook just nodded and took off into the sky.

"Stop that!" Keegan shouted, deflecting some of Mai's wild swings with his own arm. He'd just recovered from all his previous cuts and bruises and he didn't need any more, especially at the hands of one of Team Rocket's flunkies. One of her strikes did manage to get through, catching him hard in the side of the head, but he shook it off, grabbing hold of both her arms and pinning them to the ground over her head. He was definitely in control now, but he knew that if he tried to make another grab for Shocker's Pokeball, there was a good probability that he'd get hit again, and Mai would get free as a result. He glared down at the woman, trying with every ounce of his will power to hate and despise yer, and though a part of him honestly and truly did, another, more primitive part of him was incredibly and irresistibly attracted to her. Before he could even begin to realize what he was doing, he'd let go of her wrists and leaned in to kiss her, fully expecting to get a knuckle sandwich in reply.
=====
"Okay Tingle, let's wrap this up!" Miharu shouted. By this point she was almost overflowing with confidence, and Tingle seemed to mirror it's trainer's enthusiasm. She hadn't felt this good about herself since before she'd taken on Falkner, back when she only had Tingle (as a Beldum) and a still-young Lily, and had defeated a dozen or so greenhorn trainers in her first week away from home. This is a great feeling, the small girl thought. I'm not gonna let it go now!

Marina, meanwhile, had stood up and was looking across the water at Miharu, a look of disdain on her face. She sighed and pushed her bangs out of her eyes. "Hold up," she called, raising her hands. "I think we both know how this is gonna end, so I think we should call it quits," she said, her tone returning to the normal, chipper one she'd had before the battle started. She held up a Pokeball and recalled her tired Golduck.

"Oh, well, all right," Miharu nodded, scratching the back of her head. She'd effectively won the match, so she figured she could be happy with that. "I understand, your Golduck did look pretty worn out. Thanks, Tingle, you were great," she said, before calling the Metang back into it's Pokeball, then turned to Marina again. "Your Golduck is pretty strong," she said, picking up her backpack. "You've trained it well, but I believe that in doing so, you've neglected your Seel and Seadra. With more training, the two of them could be just as tough as your Golduck."

"You are right about that," Marina nodded, as the two had already begun to head towards the Pokemon Center, "but I wanted my Golduck to evolve from Psyduck, so I ended up working with it more than the others. Oh, and I'm sorry for being so rude during our battle. I tend to get a little carried away."

Miharu nodded, able to understand. She'd worked a lot with Tingle and Lily before hand, as well as her other Pokemon, and Starrie had started to be neglected as well. "It's okay," Miharu nodded. "Battles can get pretty intense sometimes." The two continued to chat as they made their way to the Pokemon Center, and Miharu was glad to see that Marina was in fact nicer than she'd initially gave her credit for.

Before Mai knew it she'd been pinned to the ground in a rather uncomfortable manner, though she couldn't help but chuckle at Keegan's new-found predicament. Her icy blue eyes locked with his, and her heart seemed to beat a little faster against her ribcage as he released her wrists. "What do you think you're-" had been her quick retort, but before she could finish he'd kissed her, and for some unknown, mysterious reason, all she found herself able to do was close her eyes and kiss him back. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him closer, lacing her fingers together as she lost herself in the moment. The sudden realization of what she was doing suddenly hit her like a Dynamic Punch and she shoved him off her, scooting back and scrambling to her feet. "No, no, no, no, no," she said, waggling a finger at him as though he alone were at fault for their actions. "No, you see, this can't happen this way. And if it's gonna happen at all, then I'm gonna need more wine. Lots more wine." She turned and began to walk away, stopping to look back at Keegan. "So... are you coming, Red?" she asked in a playful tone, drumming her fingertips on the railing of her balcony for a few seconds before she hopped over it and slipped back into her room.

Running through the streets wasn't exactly Robin's idea of a super fun time. That and the fact that even though she was in better shape now then she had been in a while she was still started to get a bit out of breath. Maybe she should start working out more? Or at least get a little better at cardio. Panting as she ran through the streets she ignored the look that her brightly colored outfit was getting her. Looking up she followed Brook and his aerial directions.

With Luffy the Ambipom was actually catching up a little, while they were going the same speed Luffy was much more agile and turned the corners with a lot more ease. If they reached a straightaway the yellow spikey thing would probably get ahead of him. Still in the town and going through alleys ways it didn't stand a chance on having more agility then the six limed speedy monkey. Few things probably had a greater dexterity then the Ambipom and he used it to the best of his ability.

Eventually the small yellow blur dashed through a small Meowth door that was through a sort of grubby door. Not even thinking about it Luffy dashed through as well not slowing down in the slightest. Maybe he should though because the sudden change from the concrete to tile floors had him slipping around before hitting a wall with a crash. Blinking a few times he looked around after his abrupt stop.

The room wasn't very interesting in fact it wasn't really even a room, it was more like he was in the end of a hallway. "Eh?" Picking himself up he did what his curiosity compelled him to do, go down the hallway.

Needless to say, Keegan was quite surprised when he didn't get his lights punched out by Mai, but he decided it wise to just keep quiet and go along with it. Apparently it wouldn't last too long, though, and he blinked and looked up at Mai in surprise as she pushed him off her, then proceeded to walk away. Well, that was interesting, in the very least, he thought as he got to his feet, not yet fully realizing what the Rocket's true intentions were. He'd almost started to walk away as well when he heard her call out to him, and he was unable to suppress a smirk as he started to jog after her. Hell yes, he thought, clumsily making his way over the railing (though he did manage to avoid falling on his face) and across the threshold into the Rocket Admin's hotel room.

***

When Keegan awoke the next morning, it took a few groggy moments of staring at the ceiling for him to piece together his memories of the previous evening, and the realization of it all caused him to sit bolt upright in bed, a cold chill creeping through him. He scanned the room quickly, not at all surprised to find that Mai had already vacated the room, leaving virtually no trace that she'd even been there, and he sighed, flopping onto his back. A quick glance at the clock showed that it was still quite early, and though he hadn't slept a lot last night, he was much more refreshed and energized than he thought he should be. He rolled out of bed and got himself dressed, deciding to shower once he got back to the Pokemon Center, and it was with that thought that the gravity of the situation hit him. He was supposed to go back there last night, as he'd given Kasiya the key to his room, and now he could only imagine how worried and upset she probably felt by now. I'll think of something to tell her, he thought as he sat down on the bed to put on his shoes, hearing a bit of a strange crinkling sound from underneath him. After a moment of searching he discovered a somewhat wrinkled note with a check attached to it via paperclip, and he chuckled as he read it:

Room is paid for until noon, so enjoy it for the morning if you want. The check is for your tux, so shut up about it already. And if you so much as breathe a single word about us to anyone, I will find you and have you maimed beyond recognition.

xo
~M

"Heh, yeah, like anyone would believe me even if," he muttered, stuffing the note and check into his wallet, though he was a little surprised by the check itself. It was made out to the exact store he'd rented his tux from and for close to the right amount, as well. He was also shocked to find all his Pokeballs in tact and right where they should be, and he finished tying up his shoes before grabbing the key to the room (which closely resembled a credit card of sorts) and heading out to face what he figured would be a long, long day.

Jason was out and about, looking around curiously for anything that would catch his interest. There wasn't much in Mauville he hadn't already seen. Jason sighed, what ever was he to do? He continued on through the city coming to the eastern most part where he could go no further. The ocean cut up into this part of the Hoenn and separated him from the rest of Rout 118. Even though he could see the shore on the other side of the water, the water was deep there and the current to strong to get across unless on a pokemon. So he sat there on the beach thinking of what he could do. Just then he got an idea. Jason fumbled around in his bag and pulled out his good rod, it was perfect! He set it up with a nice little wurmple lure and tossed it into the water. He grinned as he let it bob there in place as he yawned, closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep with the rod firmly in his hands. Zeus couldn't help but to look at Jason thinking that the only reason he decided to fish was so that he could have an excuse to sleep. Still, he just watched his trainer sleep, keeping his eye on the bobber and ready to wake Jason once he got a bite.

Spearow was waiting by while Crenu was getting something ready. It didn't know what it was but Crenu told him to just wait while he went to find another rock. Before long Crenu returned with a nice stone that was roughly the same size as the one he had been working on before, though it had a unique flat side to it. He watched Crenu curiously, it must have been pretty heavy yet he showed no signs of having trouble other than a bit of sweat on his forehead. Crenu dropped the rock with a thud, pulling a black marker out of his pocket and bending down, drawing five small circles fairly spread apart on the flat surface of the rock. "Those are your targets. Spearow, I want you to use Fury Attack on this rock, but I want you to only hit these five circles. Any strikes outside of the circles will be unacceptable. Begin." Spearow nodded, flying at the rock and fluttering in place in front of it as he struck it with a barrage of strikes from his beak. When he stopped, the small scratches from his beak littered the surface of the rock, he wasn't even close. He hit the circles a few times, but the rest of the scratches were all over. Crenu shook his head, noting the locations of the scratches so that he could track Spearow's progress. "No good, again."

Ken watched as Snorunt fired off another Powder Snow, she was doing a little better but not much. There was more snow this time but again it was mostly just cold air. And even then, the snow kinda just few out and scattered, not at all the nice winter blanket of snow effect he was looking for. "Well at least your Icy Wind will be good. Alright Sweetie, I think that's enough of that. You're getting there though, so don't worry. Let me see your Double Team now, I'm sure it's very good. Crenu said you were working on making the copies move around independently. So show me a scatter!" Snorunt nodded, this was something she could do. She had already been doing this one on her own, she was weak and running away was her specialty, so she often used her Double Team to do just that. Snorunt closed her eyes and in seconds there were about five copies that all ran away in different directions, but since there was no foe this time she remained where she was, a few seconds later the copies vanished. "Bravo! Ok, now keep them in a line and run around in a circle. You'll be able to make a pretty appeal with a basic tactic like that." Snorunt nodded, a little more nervous than before. This wasn't her strong point. Snorunt used Double Team again and made three copies, running aroudn in a circle with them. Everything went well at first, but her focus broke and the copies all scattered again before vanishing. She looked down at the ground sulking in her failure. "Oh no honey don't be sad! That was very good, you're getting the hang of it alright. Shhh, it's fine. Let's try again ok?"

By now the smoke had almost cleared out completely, just in time for Riza to see Kakuna's clever use of String Shot to pull itself back up again. "Watch out for all that string!" she called, not at all liking the idea of having to pry all that sticky gunk from Eris if she were to get caught up in it, but she was also glad that Jaeshan hadn't used poison sting again.

"Quil!" Eris cried, rolling out of the way of an oncoming jet of silk that came at her and hopping over a second one. 'Hey, this could be a great way to work on Eris' speed and evasion,' Riza thought, already picturing the Cyndaquil artfully dodging her opponent's attacks, causing them to lose massive amounts of points in the process. "Yes!" the girl laughed, punching the air. "Hey Jae, do you think you could keep going with string shot? It's great practice for Eris' dodging ability, don't you think?"

It took very little time for Katie and Genki to arrive at the pokecenter once they knew which way to go, and after dismounting her bike and locking it to the rack she put Genki back into his poke ball and headed inside the center, already unzipping her backpack as she approached the front desk, which appeared to be empty. There were a few trainers in the waiting area, and Katie saw the queue of poke balls lined up for treatment. 'It must be really busy, being the only pokecenter of such a big city,' she thought, glad her Pokemon weren't in dire need of treatment. She pulled the brown paper bag out of her backpack and set it on the counter.

A boy, maybe a few years older than her with curly red hair and a freckled nose approached the counter, and Katie turned to him. "Where's the nurse in charge of this center?" she practically demanded, causing the boy to startle a little.

"I uh, think she's in the treatment room?" he answered, though it sounded more like a question than an answer, and without saying anything Katie went around the desk and headed for the door. "H-hey, you can't go in there!" the boy said, looking as though he wished he hadn't said anything.

"Oh yes I can, because I'm on Official pokecenter business," she told him sternly before pushing open the door and peeking inside. She could see the nurse busily going from stretcher to stretcher, taking care of each the sick or injured Pokemon. Most of them appeared to be sleeping. "Uh, excuse me, but I've come from Oreburgh City with some medicine?" Katie asked quietly, stepping into view. She didn't want to disturb the resting Pokemon.

"Oh, you're here already, thank goodness," the nurse replied, walking over to her and accepting the bag that Katie held out to her. "That was quite fast, I wasn't expecting you so soon," she said, opening the bag and taking out the vial that was inside.

"I borrowed a bike from the pokecenter in Oreburgh," Katie explained. "It wasn't that long of a ride, really. Which Pokemon needs the medicine?" she asked, unable to contain her curiosity.

"Would you like to see it?" the nurse said, answering Katie's question with another question. "I will most likely need your help administering it."

"Of course," Katie replied, setting her bag down on a stool and following after the nurse, quite interested in which Pokemon she'd helped out.

While Luffy was going down the hallway Robin was chasing after Brook. What had probably taken Luffy two minutes was taking Robin much longer. It so didn't help that she didn't really like running. Stopping unable to run when she was so out of breath she just leaned against the wall trying her best to get her breath back. Panting she felt a light weight land on her head. "Huh?" She said looking up at Brook who was looking down at her. "Did you find where Luffy went?" She muttered picking herself up from her place on the wall. She was still kind of tired but she desperately wanted to help Charlie and she needed to find Luffy. "All right lets go." With that Brook got back up into the air but much closer to the ground now and started to lead the way back to the ally way that Luffy and gone down.

Robin followed Brook at a bit of a slower pace, but it turned out that they didn't have to go much farther as when they turned the corner there was a door in the wall with a Meowth door on the bottom of it. Frowning somewhat Robin walked over to the door glancing at Brook to make sure that this was the right place. The Skiploom had a serious look on his face and nodded his body before going to land on Robin's shoulder.

Well if this was the place then Robin was going to be sure that she got Charlies money back and reunited with Luffy. Nodding to herself at her own decision Robin turned the knob on the door and pushed it open. Well it certainly wasn't a dramatic room she walked into. In fact it was just a hallway, how boring.

"This is boring." Robin muttered as she stepped inside and started walking down the hallway. There was a light at the end of the hall and Robin wanted to know what was there. Walking up to the light her new shoes clicking somewhat on the tile floors she made her way to the door and pushed it open.

Time past as Jason just sat there dead asleep, he was like a rock. Yet his grip on the fishing rod like a vice, he was such a professional at sleeping that he could do just about anything! Zeus floated around, not able to really tell how many hours had past with no movement from the bobber, Jason was sure a lousy fisherman. But finally it happened, the bobber sand and the line got pulled. Zeus quickly spun aroudn in place, letting lose another jolt of electricity to wake Jason up. Jason lazily opened his eyes, like the little jolt wasn't a big deal to him and watched his line being pulled fast. "Oh damn! Thanks Zeus, I'll take it from here." He grabbed the reel and held it fast, stopping the pokemon in it's tracks. He let it go again to give the pokemon some pull before slowly reeling it in little by little. The ripples along the broken surface grew closer, then further, then closer and closer. "Zeus, help me out here! Thundershock!" Zeus obeyed, sending a jolt of electricity into the water zapping the pokemon. But unfortunately it also traveled up the wet line and into Jason's fishing rod, shocking him as well. Jason dropped the rod, but quickly reached out to grab it and yanked hard, the pokemon coming along with it. Jason tumbled back as the surface broke and the pokemon came flying out and onto land. "Ouch...what the heck was that?" He said looking at the kinda big blue pokemon staring at him a bit angrily. Jason immediately pulled out his Pokedex and opened it up.

"Wailmer, the Ball Whale Pokemon. On sunny days it lands on beaches to bounce like a ball and play. It spouts water from its nose."

"Eh? A Wailmer..so cool! Ok Mr. Wailmer, hold still for me please. I just want to get a quick sketch!" He said pulling out his little pad from before. He turned to the next page after his Roselia notes and started to sketch the Wailmer, it was easy since it was mostly a ball shape. He only had a rough sketch down though when Zeus suddenly flew into him and pushed him out of the way, just as the Wailmer was about to crash into him. "Hey woah! Alright perfect, I'll take notes on you battle style. Zeus, Metal Sound!" Zeus jumped right into it, the screws on his body and the magnets spinning around wildly and making an unpleasant scratching noise right at the Wailmer.

The next morning, Mai was the first to awaken, and she didn't hesitate for even a minute before she started gathering up all her stuff and packing it into her bag after she'd had a quick shower. In all honesty, she didn't regret her actions, but even so, the last thing she wanted was to be here when he woke up, and she figured she could avoid a lot of awkwardness by leaving beforehand. She left the key to the room on the night table and slung her bag over her shoulder as she opened the door, but at the last minute she changed her mind and quickly wrote out a check as well as a quick note that she tossed on the bed, figuring even he wasn't lame-brained enough to miss it, and she left the room, not looking back even once as she closed the door behind her. She found a small cafe that was already open and she went inside, ordering herself a strong cup of coffee as well as a poppy seed bagel with lite cream cheese, and she sat down to enjoy them, keeping a careful eye on the time.

Eris is pretty quick and light on her feet, Jaeshan thought as he watched the Cyndaquil carefully avoid the strands of silk Kakuna had fired her way, and he nodded at Riza's question. "Yeah, sure, that sounds okay with me. What about you, Kakuna, you up for it?" Kakuna only blinked in reply, though he was a little glad that the little furball was going to stop using him as a punching bag for the time being. Hard shell or not, that last Tackle had left him feeling a little tender. "Okay, good, now use String Shot again! Try to make them as random as possible," Jaeshan called. Not only would it be good for Eris, but it'd be good for Kakuna as well.

Kakuna reared back and spat out several lengths of sticky string, this time keeping them relatively short in order to fire them off in short bursts. He wasn't sure how long he'd be able to keep it up, but he wasn't about to let the Cyndaquil show him up.

"Okay Eris, you know what to do!" Riza said with a nod. "Try not to let any of that string hit you, and try to make your dodges as cool looking as possible!" She was getting more and more excited as she thought about all of the Cyndaquil's contest potential. Eris would be great in the appeals round due to both her agility and her cuteness, while she knew her more experienced Pokemon, like Akima and Yula would be better to use in the contest battles, namely because they had more moves at their disposal. Riza still wasn't sure where her Corphish fit in with her team, but she liked the crab's attitude either way.

Eris, meanwhile, had no clue what her trainer was going on about. Looking cool? What did that even mean? All she knew was that she didn't want that icky stuff getting on her so she was going to do her very best to avoid it. The first one was coming in fast and she ducked, feeling the rush of air pass by overhead as it just missed her. She jumped back up to try and avoid the second one, but she misjudged the angle and it caught her foot, throwing her off balance and sending her to the ground. She did managed to avoid the others, but she'd hurt herself a little when she landed, and now she tried to pull the sticky string from her foot, feeling bad that she hadn't been able to dodge it.

"Here we are," the nurse said as she and Katie reached the far end of the treatment room, and the nurse pulled back the curtain to reveal her patient. "This little guy's been waiting a while for that medicine," she said, preparing a syringe.

Katie stared at the Pokemon with disbelieving eyes, and did her best to keep her completely disgusted expressions to herself. The Pokemon she was looking at was a yellow in colour, a little chubby and sported a pair of long, black tipped ears, and a lightning bolt shaped tail. She'd rode all this way, been attacked by all these bats and nearly broken her egg just to help a stupid Pikachu? She huffed a little and folded her arms, causing the electric rat to stir. "Pika?" it asked, looking up at the girl.

"This Pikachu had an enzyme deficiency that makes producing and storing electricity quite difficult, and we didn't have any here," the nurse explained. "I called all around but the only place that had any in stock was the center in Oreburgh. I'll need you to hold him, as he won't like this a bit," she warned, nodding to the girl.

Katie now turned her awed gaze to the nurse. Wait, she wanted her to hold onto an electric-type Pokemon while she poked it with a needle? It somehow seemed like a really bad idea. "But what if it shocks me?" Katie asked quickly, averting her eyes from the electric rodent.

The nurse chuckled a little. "No, it shouldn't be able to generate much more than a little static electricity. Like I said, until it gets a few doses of this enzyme, it can't perform electric attacks. Please hold him for me, he's really very gentle."

Katie eyed the mouse warily again and sighed. All right, if she had to. She apprehensively reached out and touched the Pikachu's back, nearly jumping back when it turned to look at her again. Katie bit her lip and gently scooped him up into her arms. He saw the nurse preparing the needle and buried his face into her chest, trembling all over, and Katie started to feel bad for the little guy. "It's okay, it'll be all over soon," Katie promised suddenly, snuggling him close before nodding at the nurse, who leaned in and swiftly delivered the injection to the mouse's right thigh. It squeaked and clung tightly to Katie, but the slight pain only lasted a second and soon the shaking had stopped. "There, all done," Katie said as she set the mouse back on his cot. "I'm sure you'll be up and zapping things in no time now." The Pikachu looked up at her gratefully, and Katie smiled. Okay, compared to her mother's spoiled Pikachu, this one wasn't so bad.
