Aunae had been taken aback by the applauds given to her, she had become quite use to oddities. However this place seemed filled with them.
A party? Well, at least its more to the Goddess to then to us. I don't know how I feel with all the attention..., and she smiled a bit. Though it might work in my favor.
She walked around and chatted for a bit. Many of the other spell casters coming to meet her acquaintance and size her up. She played her part of a strange drow, a shy drow whose only interest was to learn.
By the time she was leaving, she was sure she had settled the all the ambitious ones worries. While having successfully spotted possible opponents to her raise. Walking towards the Grand Entrance all she could was think how easy her raise would be and then quickly let her mind go blank as she crossed the bridge.

Shurxena wasn't sure if she liked the males eyes. No in fact, she strongly disliked they're attention on her. Despite her time out of her clan's sheltering blind, she was still highly uncomfortable...or rather irritated by they frankness in some. She rather enjoyed her walks down the streets though, there men knew where to keep they're eyes.
"Usstan inbal doer ulu ragar natha ussgyot wund dos Qu'ellar. Usstan tlun natha lodtyna, d'elezz Usstan inbal kampi'unin ulu tlu natha jallil's dortho." She said her back firm and her eyes focused. No male would, no matter the rank would make her avert her eyes.

"Dos inbal doer wun bwael draeval, Us'jalil. L'Ilharess uriu fridj retired dal biu event ji zhah available. Nindolen ph'dubo draevalen whol udossa," as he said this, the gate opened on its own to allow the drowess' entry.

The guard captain then gestured the path to the female, trying to appear as humble as he could for her without letting his guard down in sake for the House, "Nindol i'dol, Us'jalil. Usstan z'klaen nau'thal dos ulu l'Quivved Qu'ellar ulu tlu interviewed a l'Ilharess."

Shurxena smiled behind her mouth mask as she followed behind the guard. The movement of muscles didn't effect her eyes. As she followed behind him, she noted the guards on the mounts and archers perched high in the rock. At least this male knows his place. Hopefully, he remembers that for later, she thought as she gave a stiff nodded of understand.
As they started down the path, her eyes flickered around. Trying to take in all that surrounded them. Hard times...Strange how prosperity under the Goddess's watch appears hard. Well he is a male so it is very possible that he is wrong, she thought eyeing they're surrounding.

The guards captain's words would seem to be a little invalid. With how the Goddess has moved up the House freely without dirtying their own hands in the slaughter of Aleanduis. Also with the calming atmosphere the House's Courtyard provided. A herd of Rothe gently galloped away from the path from the oncoming drow. A goblin shepherd with a cane twice as big as he was ran after the herd trying to keep them in order. But the herd felt his movement and only galloped away at full speed with the goblin chasing after them. Cursing in goblin as he did so.

As they walked, the black mist slowly began to clear away to reveal the true beauty of the Courtyard. Thousands of acres of nothing but fungi and natural rock formations. Herds of deep rothe, cave swines, and farmer/shepherd slaves were scattered everywhere across the property. But though the view was beautiful, the stalagmites that overlook the path had pane glass windows that glowed with faerie fire and portrayed ghostly figures. Just below the windows were small slits where the real archers shoot their darts from. To the careful eye, one could see the point of the shining dart, dripping of toxin, as a soft click sounds within the dead air to indicate the archers had unlocked the safety and were now ready to shoot at any given moment. How aware the guards captain was, he did not seem to give them any heed as they continue their way up the path to a little slope. Atop the slope was a building that looked to be something a little more then a hut.

Visible archers could be seen on top of the hut in the rafters as their hands went for their hand crossbows to appear more as a security precaution then an actual threat.

"Wu'suul ghil, Jabbress," the guards captain spoke as he suddenly swung open the doors to view the Guest House. In the center was a square created by dark blue and black laced couches. A long table in the back was filled with fresh surface dishes. On the other wall was an indent with runes carved over the archway. Four braziers were placed at the four corners glowing with a dim blue faerie fire.

"Dos xal s'tharl, v'dre, lu'l'amith fol d'l'cahallin. L'Ilharess zhal'la tlu xuil dos ulnin," the guard captain then disappeared through the swinging doors to leave the drowess alone in the room.

Shurxena looked at the door for a bit and then made a quick scan of the room. She walked along the tables side, brushing her gloved hand over it.
Some of the food on the table she had never seen before. Though most were common to her, she picked up the platter filled of grilled deep rothe and then put it down. Better not chance it, she thought and then stared at the couch.
She quickly ran her eyes and then gently probed the cushions before sitting on the edge. Once she had settled, she appeared slight relaxed, yet nervous allowing her eyes go over the room once more.

Before Vic'tyrr went back to his duties, he then snagged a slave that had been walking close by the hut and told him to send word to the Matron that a visitor was here.

The slave nodded his head vigorously and took off to the Underbelly of the house as quick as he could.

~~~~~~
Lariexith was standing next to one of the large enchanted windows in her throne room that overlooked Ulorbbath. She watched with envy as Hun'afin troops overtook Aleanduis. Although Lari was happy that she gets a free ride up the ranking scale. She couldn't help but feel useless to the situation. She was a battle mage. All throughout her life she lived in the heat of war. It was her comfort zone. But as days drifted by with no action, the Matron couldn't help but feel restless even a little bit antsy.
But boredom was not all the Matron was worried about. Aleanduis had been her only ally in the city. And now she felt she was not in good terms with Hun'afin after she tried to steal the show at the Matron's Meeting in Rylinndar. After Aleanduis is completely destroyed, Tor'afin and Hun'afin will become even more feirce rivals. The Gods seem to be taking a lot of pride on Hun'afin.
Lari grit her teeth and slammed her fist into the window. The window did not shatter. Just cracked and mended itself magically.
Lari couldn't help but feel envious. For so long she wanted Lolth's lime light. To roar out her name in a battle cry as her House demolished another House. And the great Spider Mistress's glory would shine upon them. But that dream, that image was taken from Lari. And now all she can do is watch as another House fulfills her dream.
Breathing heavily, her nostrils flaring, she stepped back from the window. Her body shook from utter rage. A smile of insanity crossed her lips as she pulled her head back and let out a roaring cackle, "Let Hun'afin enjoy their moment of fame! For it shall be short lived! I believe in you Lolth, my Goddess! You can be so deceiving to those who have deceived you. I have paid you homage for as long as I have been old enough to approach Priesthood. I know you have something better in store for me. I will be patient, my Goddess. My faith will never be doubted to you. I just pray that you will give my House strength..."
Just then there was a knock at the door.
The Matron then swept around, her eyes bubbling in rage at being interrupted with her private moment with her Goddess, "WHAT THE HECK DO YOU WANT!"
The spiders scrambled from the ceiling, down the posts, and opened the door to allow the male slave entry.
"M-M-Matron Lariexith? A-a-a-a-a visitor is h-h-h-here for you! Sh-sh-she's l-l-l-looking for w-w-w-work!"
The Matron starred at the slave for another minute taking in the information. After many minutes, a smile appeared on her lips, The Goddess has heard me.. She sends strength to our House!
The slave stood there still as if waiting for another order. The corner of his mouth twitched as he saw the Matron smile. A sight he had never even heard of before from the other slaves!
"Get back to work!" the Matron roared at him. As quickly as the smile had appeared, it had vanished. The slave then scrambled out of the throne room as the spiders closed the door after him.
The Matron then turned about and walked over to one of the indents in the Throne Room and activated it. Transporting her to the Guest House where Shruxena waited.
"Hello, my darling. My name is Matron Lariexith. Lari for short. How may I be of assistance to you?" the Matron appeared very air headed and bright. But something about her presence would appear off to strangers. While others would think it would be an act, some would assume that the Matron isn't really all there in the head.
Shurxena relaxed and then bowed respectfully towards the Matron. "I am deeply honored that you have come to see me. You who are blessed by the Goddess, to see me...I am, as I said, honored."
As Shurxena straighten, she took in the Matron attire and attempted to read her attitude. The female is clearly blessed...either that or I'm losing my touch, the thought didn't sit well with her, but her face didn't show it.
"Matron Lariexith, I have come to your House in the hopes of finding a..position among your House. Though...as lowly as I am, I'm unsure where I fit in a House so blessed by our Goddess."
Shurxena's mind buzzed as she attempt to figure a way to slowly breach the topic of her desire position. To rush for the spot might agitate this lady, but to wait near the bottom of the pile would be more vexing then survive that self-inflated House. She recalled her last encounter with her former protectors. I must remind myself, that so long as I am "loyal". The Goddess will find give me what I want.
The Matron wondered just how many times the drowess could say 'blessed.' At this thought, Lari confided a chuckle. Although the girl did not portray any strange movements, the way she spoke was what caught Lari's attention. The strange pauses after certain words.
So she thinks she can butter me up and then appear humble? What an original tactic. The Matron thought with a sly grin.
Even though Lari could sense something off by the drowess, she knew that she had to maintain her bubbly brightness to escape conflict.
After analyzing her for many minutes, Lari then broke off into her cute little grin and bating eyelashes, "Well, my dear. I suppose knowing your skills and hobbies could help me find you a position here. Unless of course... you already have one in mind," the Matron let slip a change in attitude just slightly to sort of give the drowess a hint that she was catching up to the girl's little act.
"If subtlety garners blunt suspicion, than it is not subtlety. It is stupidity." the words of Shurxena's teacher and Elder snaked through her as the Matron finished speaking.
Then, I will simply have to change my approach, she countered while out loud she said, "I was trained by the Order, a group of 'special' weavers. I am not sure if those of Ulorbbath were aware of our existence. However, the Goddess has brought forth her weaving talent, destroying my old home so that might seek a newer better one. I believe she has guided me here so that I might lend my talents to your honorable House."
Shurxena eyes were cast downward, since her training had instilled in her a certain amount of grudge respect for those who were probably older then herself. Though for all the respect I showed my teacher. She was so suspicious that it took three days to kill her, she thought letting out a silent huff of air.
The Matron's child-like expression slightly dimmed as she listened to the girl speak of her talents and studies. She recalled hearing of the Weavers many years ago. Surprisingly enough, she had learned about them from her Mother. One of the few faint memories she had of the old drow hag before condemning her to her death.
She thought about the prayer she had given Lolth a moment ago and wondered if this girl was the answer to her prayers. Having her in the House could potentially give her favor without trying. It would definitely be interesting to see the girl give her sacrifice during her Devotion Ceremony to Tor'afin. She had heard of the black ceremonies and had always been interested in seeing one.
Her magic could prove useful as well. Weavers magic was a lot different then Mage's magic. It would certainly be a nice touch to the Arcane part of the House. Something that Lari particularly admired and favored. Having been ambitious in magic herself and training in the ways of a battle mage as well as a Priestess. Seeing the destruction of mages and weavers at war against another House would be disastrous indeed. Which brought back the maniacal smile Lari often wore.
However the benefits, there also came the cons. Weavers are exceptionally cunning and known for their plots for higher positions and power. Their spells revolved around gathering information and deception. Something that could be a potential danger to her. But Lari was already in danger for having an heir. Briza could strike for power at any time if she learns how to divert her Leviathan's gaze. Even if the Priestess in-training seems less cunning as Lari, the Matron knows that her blood brews within the girl's veins. It was a risk the Matron had to take. For that is the drow's way of life.
Lari then crossed her arms and began to analyze the drowess. She would have to be careful with this one. Giving her a position too high in the Hierarchy could make her ambitions for higher ranking far too risky. But her power would definitely prove useful in gaining information on the other Houses. Perhaps even respect at that.
She clicked her tongue as she thought over the possibilities and decided to press for more information, "I faintly recall hearing the Weavers. I'm not that familiar with their work however. Could you perhaps elaborate the things you are capable of? What exactly are the Weavers? What do they do? What do they teach? What are some of the traditional things that are known in their Academies?"
Lari decided to play the dumb role and allow the girl to go into detail about her studies. To learn more of her capabilities and figure out how much of a threat she could pose.
Shurxena allowed herself a pause, she was sure the Matron had heard of her sister's. Then again, those that knew of them, were mostly sworn to secrecy. She wants a test...not true information. I respect that cunning subtly, she thought as out loud she said, "The Order is...was a group of the finest females and smartest minds that could be gathered in our part of the UnderGaia. We studied the fine art of weaving, poisons, and death. We were a large part of House, that worked under the impression that females, such as ourselves were designed to work as the Goddess."
Pausing to gather her thoughts, she continued, "We were taught the words of the Goddess and her favored ones ways. Spells and mixtures aided us in turning simple cloth into invisible, deadly traps. While we made clothes that could burn the skin off an enemy...not a lovely smell, but highly entertaining. My favorite is Creeping wires, it goes inside the parasite, then spreads through their body as it thirsting for they're blood, which helps it to grow. Eventually it just consumes the body..."
She trailed off as she remembered her last use of it. It had been a joy to watch the male die slowly. Then she quickly turned her attention back, "As for our traditions...well, I believe my teacher put it best when she said, ' Anyone person can kill another. However our Order trains us to kill with the beauty, force, and skill as our spider sisters". To kill, trick, and devise the weak and aid our sisters in any form or rank that they stand, that was our main tradition."
Finished she couldn't help, but flash back to those days. Which soured her mood a touch, Humph, they couldn't stand up to the power of Lolth's judgment...Lolth wanted the strong to be released from the grasping hands of the weak ones...that is why they had to died.
Lariexith took the words of the drowess and read between the lines. The girl certainly had a way of rewording things to make it appear less as blunt. She also enjoyed the girl's calmness. Her composure faintly changed through her talk. Something that was needed when gaining information. Lari couldn't help but like the young drowess. She would make a good Matron one day if that was her motive. But Lari doubt she'd be able to penetrate the security breaches she had put up within the House. But she still wanted to know just how far advanced the girl was in her studies. And in order to see that, a demonstration was needed.
Lari then snapped her fingers and gestured for a guard to come near. The guard approached her clad in a complete iron chain mail attire.
"I've never seen a Weaver at work though from your talk I find it very interesting indeed. Would you perhaps demonstrate this power for me? Do you work well in close combat or ranged?" the Matron said this as she stepped back to the portal wall and summoned a cone of anti magic around herself. Soft clicks could be heard as the archers above loaded their hand crossbows and pointed downward as a secondary precaution to protect their Mistress. Lari was indeed risking her life but she had to see the drowess at her finest before accepting her into her House.
Shurxena glanced at the Matron, Does she think me a weakling?
She sighed and pushed her annoyance away as she lifted her gloves hand to her mouth. Softly she murmured a few words before pulling the glove off with her teeth.
She glared at the guard, the male was watching her. As if we are on the same level...pathetic male! She took her hand-less glove in her hand and throw it at the guard. This seem to catch him off his guard a bit. Allowing it to hit his face. As it slipped and fell off him, she said softly, "You should not raise an eye to me as if I am on the same level as you."
She flicked a dagger into her hand, though it was a lazy motion. "Come and die male...as it appears to be your fate today."
{Am I NPCing the guard to much? If so I can change it.}
Lariexith crossed her arms as she watched the scenario play out before her. Although the girl seemed quite collected in conversation, she noticed a dramatic change in personality the moment she took awareness of the duel. She smiled at the girl's taunting words and kept her mouth shut as the battle continued.
((No you're doing fine. I'd rather you take control and NPC the whole scene. You can kill him if you want. Just make it realistic. ^^))
