Jaidev let out a long sigh of relief and his heartbeat began to slow to normal as the green and blue Impressed. Neither were His, but...he didn't mind. As long as no one got mauled this round, those dragons could have crawled into the stands to Impress and he would have been almost as happy as if they had picked him. Maybe those two angry dragonets had been a fluke. A rivalry gone bad- shards, last hatching, two of the bronzes had exhibited quite the rivalry! He had been concerned then, too.
Maybe now, things would proceed normally. Hopefully.
Across the sands, another egg began to move lazily from side to side. Boring as it was compare to the excitement of the start, Jaidev welcomed the placid actions with wide open arms. Soon, another egg began to stir only to yield a bright little blue that stumbled about. Scratch that, a big bright blue! By the egg, it was almost as big as a brown! It was an adorable little hatchling, if Jaid did say so himself.
The bronze emerged next, looking as haughty as any bronze should. Ah, now the mood was changing, returning to the one expected from a good ol' Hatching.

Uuni surveyed Kess with an, "Uh-huh," and a smile as she answered the question nonchalantly. She'd have expected an 'I feel fine'.
Unlike her more impatient companion, Uuni was content to stand relaxed, or as relaxed as she could be.
"I hope this is all the wild we have for today. If there are any like that gold again, my head will be in someone's lap. Unattached." She made a face at the gruesome image that bounded through her head and shifted to show her discomfort.
It was about that time that patience was answered with two more eggs. Ah, the bronze was full of himself. Uuni grinned, and wasn't at all surprised. And the blue? Well, she'd be sure to give him space if he ventured this way. He didn't look very coordinated.
-
Bachi was having a much less pleasant time than either dragon or his companions. "It's Bachi!" he insisted with quite the haughty tone to go with that voice.
"E. It sounds like a long e on the end." Perhaps it was a bit immature to get frustrated over something as simple as a name, but he was only worried about the fact that he didn't want to be related to his brother in any way.
Eventually he shook his head and sighed. Girls.
Grinning when he thought about the hatching, he started off again. "The two earlier were fantastic! The way they were going to tear at each other towards the end had so much spirit! I can't wait until I see them and their rider's fly." Awesome described this Hatching and nothing more. He certainly wasn't dissapointed.

Sen looked on, moving her eyes from one place to another every once in a while. The candidates were as interesting as the dragons sometimes. Perhaps she should have been less at ease considering how many turns she'd be not too long from now, but really, what could she do? Being negative wouldn't help anything, and it was more fun to just enjoy it.
"Sure is," she agreed without hesitating. "Could teach a thing or two to the families around here." Then another egg was moving, then another, and soon two more dragonets were on the sands.
Laughing again, she adjusted her bandanna and nodded toward the pair. "Look at that bronze. He knows he's special. Poor blue is getting majorly overshadowed."

Wide-eyed, Sela peered at the great bronze and the massive blue with shock and eager awe -- even damp from the egg, the bronze nearly shone, and the blue was just massive. So patient and beautiful despite the gawkiness of a dragonet, the bronze was nearly spellbinding. And the blue, well, once again he simply wanted to help the oversized creature to right himself. His big hands clenched at his side, as he tried to grin. The other candidates seemed to have friends at their side, and the gregarious Selachii hadn't been able to find any of his. He was half excited, and half lonely, eager to see one of these little beauties up-close... maybe, when all was said and done.

Rumir gasped. His head was still spinning from the earlier Vanner hatching, but that hardly stopped it from spinning anew.
The wayward Clydesdale egg had caught his attention, and only shortly before that, the Mustang egg. Both were considerably large (though, not as large as the Gold) and while that was usually hardly any indication of the dragon inside he could only guess how big the dragonets really were.
As the Clydesdale egg presented a large Blue, he was almost bouncing in place. Then, as the Mustang egg revealed a Bronze his excitement doubled. Surely, he would Impress on one? That remained to be seen. The only thing he could do, really, was hope. 'Hello there, little ones,' He crooned in his mind, hoping one of them would hear.

Veyes nodded in return and glanced in the direction Firyal looked. He guessed she didn't want him worrying about her but well...that's what friends did. It wouldn't have been right of him not too... Although, his eyes caught hold of the bronze and blue creating a feeling hopeful optimism again. The bronze didn't seem angry and that made him smile...so relaxed compared to the others so far and for that he was...thankful. 'Please don't charge out to the crowd," he thought. Hoping the creature would understand. But the blue almost brought laughter back to his lips because it almost seemed to need assistance right out of the shell. And here too, he was rather relieved that neither dragon was displaying any angst...well yet anyway. He wondered if it would be the same once they got their bearings.
Taking a deep breath, he crossed his fingers and tried to remain as patience as possible even if his mind yet again wandered with hopes that one of the dragons in this clutch would offer him the doorway to new future...He was more certain of his readiness this time; having worked so hard to prepare for his lifemate by learning things with his mentor even though there was no guarantee that any would find him suitable. Even so...he still dreamed of the possibilities and wondered when reality would find his dreams one in the same.

The blue was getting more than overshadowed, he was practically ignored, at least by his brother. Fortunately, the brilliantly-colored bronze quickly grew bored of his posing. He flicked his wings and swished his tail, looking at the boys from his perched before turning his back and sauntering over to the females. Girls were much, much prettier. He shoved himself into the crowd, looking up at them all as he wandered by.
Girls were so nice. He liked girls.
Finding a nice spot next to a particularly attractive young lady, the bronze laid himself down and crooned to her. She couldn't help herself but lean down to pet him and the bronze all but glowed. He did like girls. She fussed over him for quite a few moments and finally, finally, the bronze looked back out towards the males.
Eh. Balin? Balinmine? Your Xanthoth is pretty happy where he is. You're going to have to come over and come get him.

You are Redhath, Arioth tossed back, unwilling to let her blue clutchmate have the upper hand. She was perfect, and she would not let anyone forget it! Redhath would be good enough, as long as he remembered ths.
Rinfala, of course, scowled anyways, before dropping it in favor of a laugh. "It's better than Mial, yes. I would've had to make fun of you for that one, because you'd make one sharding weird feline." Narrowly yanking back her hand from a hasty snap by Arioth, she glowered at the gold. "Eat the meat, not my hand."
Sorry, Arioth apologized, and surprisingly, there was remorse in the tone. She never wanted to hurt Hers. She had hurt those other girls, but not Hers. Hers was different and didn't need to be hurt.

Oh my. That blue was quite the largest one he had ever seen. Not that he had seen many. He watched it anxiously. Maybe this one would be his? He hoped so. A blue would be amazing. But then, so would any dragon. He smiled as the little bronze soaked up the adoration offered by the females, though it was quite obvious none of them were His.

Vaythel had been momentarily distracted as the Blue and Green had Impressed, his eyes flicking back to the eggs as the Clydesdale Egg spilled forth a Blue, and a Bronze emerged as well. The Bronze Impressed before he could do anything, and he sighed softly, just barely inaudible over the buzz of the Hatching. This guy was a skirtchaser, that much was evident from the spot he picked--right in the middle of the girls, specifically next to a pretty one! Vaythel couldn't help but chuckle at the Bronze, happy that he had Impressed to his chosen one.

The bronze was certainly a charmer! It was rather adorable to watch up lay down next to the female candidates just for the attention, and Terisa couldn't fault the girl who pet him. It was probably just impossible to resist when a pretty bronze acted so adorable. It was nice to know that at least some of the members of the clutch were fond of humans...

Oh dear, well she had actually found some surprise in the little bronze that had HAPPILY taken up a spot next to one of the girls, causing Alanna to start a bit, actually waiting for it to pick out a target to assault like the first brown had... but then it seemed it was just enjoying female company.
Well, she could only assume that it was what Bronzes did.. or something. Goodness, did she just know nothing when it came to the interactions of dragons and their riders? Really, this whole 'impression' thing was starting to turn into a bit fit of.. of... ... ......
A big fit of learning. Did she enjoy it?
Not exactly. But eh, perhaps nobody in this clutch had just found themselves worthy of how wonderful she was ... yes.. that had to be it -- she would impress a Queen yet! Maybe! Hopefully.... ...
Though the front row seats for the impression were turning out quite fun.

The little green took her time while the blue made his selection, then chose hers as well. Ceanandin applauded along with the rest as the newly-Impressed dipped to their dragonets and the focus of the Candidates returned to the unhatched eggs. It wasn't a long wait; another egg had begun to rock, but yet another beat it to the punch. The overlarge blue who tumbled to the Sands won a grin from Ceanandin and the easy affection of the crowd, but the bronze who followed certainly did not go unnoticed. The first bronze of the clutch, late in the clutch--he wasn't sure what kind of omen that was, though, he reconsidered; a gold first certainly couldn't be a bad thing.
He hadn't quite reached that point of desperation, not yet. This Hatching seemed to be working well for him. Sure, he had been late, but he had missed maulings and little else. Over half of the clutch was still on the Sands--that was good, that left hope! There was, as ever, a nagging reminder in the back of his mind that some would leave dragonless, as he had times before. But he was optimistic about this Hatching, at least thus far. It had only gone well for him to this point.
The bronze was off and flirting, which Ceanandin found both confusing and amusing. The nagging voice in his mind laughed bitterly as the dragonet Impressed another, but Cean shoved it aside with a laugh of his own for the bronze's attitude and applauded with the rest. Hold to the optimism. That one would be a handful, anyway.

Merik was reluctant to look away from the Blue, but the Bronze was heading over towards the girls, and he kind of wanted to watch whatever would ensue from that. The Bronze really was beautiful, he couldn't help feel a little fluttery every time he looked at it. But it wouldn't look near him. Actually, it was looking... looking... Merik whooped suddenly and pumped a fist in the air, cheering at that bald head he could recognize even across the room in the dark of the sands. "Attaboy, Balin!" He didn't intend to draw attention to himself, but he was brimming with happiness for his roommate. The first Impression to someone he knew and it was a Bronze! A Bronze to Balin! He clapped very enthusiastically, all his spirit having been suddenly restored. He hardly knew the man, but that was enough. Good for him! Good for Balin! (And, as an added bonus, he'd either meet a new mate or get a bed and scowly Darcir all to himself! Win-win situation.)

The bronze wasted no time finding his partner, nor did merik waste any time cheering for it, and Zafir gave a sigh of relief. He knew little about dragons, or for that matter himself, and in his mind there had been a true risk that he would impress the grand creature- and truly it was grand, not that it was no longer threatening his future with overwhelming responsibility.
But, while a bronze might have been terrifying, a blue would be lovely, even if he secreted in his mind a craving for one of the middle dragons, a brown. It was not anything he'd ever dwelled upon long, and now was not the time to start, either. The green eyed candidate searched out the blue body, sparing another glace to his friend, who seemed more than content now. Perhaps it was just the intervals between hatchings that made Merik nervous? There would be time to wonder about that later, and to ask.
For now, he focused his sharp gaze on the blue.
