"I know," Mel nodded. "Maybe this will help you out that way. You'd be surprised how busy the kitchen can get when everyone's hungry. Or maybe you wouldn't be surprised... But you'll get to see a lot more people over time and you'll get to know them in the process too. People like to talk over dinner, like we're doing now, so you learn all kinds of things," he grinned.

Tunda frowns, then nods, taking a sip of tea. "I-I guess so. S-so, I should just s-stick to cooking for now, right?"

"Well, you seem to like it. If you want to pursue it, I say go for it," the dragon nodded. Maybe Tunda would use the kitchen as a sort of 'home base,' in a way. No, he couldn't really keep people out, but maybe he would come to use this as a base of operations, a place of sanctuary and relaxation as he researched and tried out new concoctions. "Later on, if you decide cooking isn't really for you, you can always decide to pursue something else instead."

Tunda thinks about the offer again, then gives a small smile and nod. "O-okay. I-I won't learn anything if I d-don't t-try, right? A-and I do want to g-get better."

"That's right. And you are welcome to use any book we have here. And if you need one we don't have then we can probably get you the one you need." Mel grinned and rose from his seat to take his now-empty plate to the sink.

Tunda stands up and follows, grabbing his own empty dishes and taking them to the sink. "A-alright. I... really d-don't want to b-be a b-burden anymore, so, I'll do it."

Mel glanced back at Tunda with a look of mild annoyance, not at the pokemon's words but for someone else. "Don't let Jimi get you down. He was trying to help..." He smiled. "Just how far you've come in such a short time, and how much you're trying to do even though you aren't fully healed, that proves that you'll never be a burden."

Mel blinked. What now? "Vacuuming. After I finish my tea I was going to vacuum. I don't know what you wanted to do, that's up to you." He finished with his dishes then went back to the table where his cup awaited him.

Tunda fidgets for a moment before nodding slightly to himself and following Mel. Who knows, he might find some way to help out while Mel's vacuuming? His tail swishes slightly behind him as he stops near Mel. "I.. I'd like to h-help if t-that's alright..?"

For a moment, a blank look passed over Mel's face as he sipped at his cooling tea. There isn't a whole lot two people can do together to vacuum. Except... Yes, it was as if a light bulb had switched itself on in the dragon's brain, and a broad grin popped like bubblegum across his face. "Why yes. If you help me, we can move the furniture around and vacuum underneath. You would not believe the dust bunnies that grow and multiply under there. They do not pay rent you know, they just eat all the leftover cookie crumbs," he laughed. "Normally providing such a service to me would earn them their keep but the babies have been known to try to eat them, and in turn they grab people's ankles in the middle of the night..." Of course he was only joking, but he could not remember the last time the places underneath the furniture had been cleaned...

Tunda felt his eyes widen at the thought of dust actually taking the form of bunnies and grabbing people's ankles. "D-dust does that...?" He asks, his voice wavering slightly before he shakes his head and nods slightly. "S-so, am I to try to move furniture then while you vacuum?"

"No... it was a joke Tunda." Mel grimaced. He kept forgetting that deadpan humor was lost on the pokemon. "Sorry," he added, his voice full of sincerity as he reached over to pat his shoulder. "Actually I was thinking we could both move things. Some of the furniture is pretty big, and while I'm sure you're very strong, it's just difficult to balance with just one person doing it." Then what? What would he do while I'm vacuuming? "I suppose if you still need something to do after that, you can dust around the room after I've vacuumed."
