"It was Dad's idea. He didn't like how they were just piling up on the floor." He glanced back at Adrian. "It's nice to know you don't think of me as just another a*****e," he said as he opened up his door and slammed it shut behind him. Stepping around the front to lean against the car with his arms crossed over his chest, he noted that there was a breeze with just a hint of warmth left over from the heat of the day. It smelled like dry grass, dust, and the trees, whose leaves were hissing faintly behind them.
(( Note, door slam is due to heaviness of the door, not because Carlos is pissed. xD ))

Adrian got out of the car and shut the door. He walked over and stood next to Carlos. "I can't think of you as just another a*****e because you have shown me that you aren't, even though I sometimes treat you like you are being one." The rat gave Carlos an apologetic look.

Carlos leaned lightly against Adrian, his head against the rat's shoulder, and sighed quietly. He really wasn't sure what to say to that, but he wrapped his arms around Adrian and smiled lightly. This was probably the closest he could get to an apology without him saying it aloud, but he didn't always need words to get the meaning.

Adrian wrapped an arm around Carlos' shoulders and kissed the topped of the unicats head. Okay, so truthfully, the rat loved these moments, he just didn't like what usually followed these nice moments.

Tilting his face downward so that his horn didn't hit Adrian, he leaned into the rat's kiss with a grin. If the rat wasn't careful, his boyfriend would be purring again in no time. He looked upward and asked, "So, you like my little place here?"

The rat shrugged. "It's quant. And it's not full of obnoxious people, or couples doing things they shouldn't do in public." Adrian liked this place. It was lovely and nice to be in. It was obviously a good place to come and think.

Carlos looked at Adrian and blushed a little before glancing away again. "Well, it's not exactly public..." His ears swiveled. "But yeah, that's why I come here, to think, or for the quiet and the stars," he added with a happy smile. He was glad he had brought his boyfriend here tonight.

Adrian kissed to the top of Carlos' head again. "Which is what is the second most attractive thing about this place." He glanced up at the night sky. The stars really did look amazing out here. "And why it's good for you to think, because if you hurt your brain you have the privacy to change it for a new one."

Ahh... Wait, which is the most attractive..? Or was this one of those back door compliments of Adrian's? Mixing seriousness and comedy was a good way to confuse the unicat, and if he hadn't been raised by Jimi of all people he would have been completely lost. He grinned and leaned his head against Adrian's shoulder. "Yeah there's a tree back there you don't want to go near. It's a dump site for old brains and broken jars."

Adrian raised an eyebrow at the unicat and looked around at the various trees around. "Oh really? Which tree is it that I should stay away exactly? So I don't go over to it by accident."

Oh...umm... Carlos looked around then pointed vaguely at a stand of trees. "I'm sure you'll recognize it by the strange smell," he grinned, sticking his tongue out slightly at Adrian.

"So, it smells? Of rotting brains or of fried brains. Or maybe, fried, rotting brains?" Adrian looked around at the trees and started to move towards the ones Carlos pointed at. He knew the unicat was joking, and was having fun.

"Yeah, probably both," Carlos replied, watching in mild surprise as Adrian pulled away. With his eyes he followed the rat move off toward the trees. Before trailing behind him he blinked and asked, "Where are you going?"

Adrian bent down to pick up a stick then looked back at Carlos and smirked. "Haven't you ever wanted to poke a brain with a stick?" He asked, waving the stick slightly.

Carlos stared at Adrian in disbelief. Then his expression altered to one of dismay. "You want to poke my brains?" he pouted as if close to tears. "I'm not roadkill you know..."
