█ ▌ﻫ Evie Tapioca ˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉ˚ Evie gave Axius a patronizing look. "What is the point of switching hands with your sword?" she asked, bored. By switching hands behind his back, Evie had already guessed where his next swing would go. It would be from his right, so she swung her sword vertically towards her left. The tip was pointed downwards to avoid the blow near her leg. With a sweep of her free hand, she brushed the shield out of the way. Her Zanpacto held Axius' at bay while Evie stepped forward and thrust her palm towards his chest. "Sai!" she yelled. The first Bakudo she had ever learned. It is a basic Kido, which is why it is the strongest Bakudo there is. Even simple spells, like Sai, could be potent when you train it enough.

Tadashi had fooled himself he was a physical fighter and fought and fought as such facing an opponent so skilled in kido he was bound to lose. As his arms were pinned behind his back he struggled but he knew it was too late. "Well I could still fight you with my legs but I think I'll give you this one. I would love to go again another time."

█ ▌ﻫ Evie Tapioca ˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉ˚ "Hmmm," Evie muttered, tossing her head. This fight left her in a bad mood. Ignoring Axius, she calmly eyed her Zanpacto and placed it back in it's sheath on her back. She gave her fingernails a quick look-over, seeing that none of them were chipped. From the top of her eyes, she glanced back at Axius, still tied up with her Bakudo. "Well, since you think you could've beat me, how about I just leave you here and you try and get out of this Bakudo by yourself?" She questioned coldly. Adjusting the strap of her sheath on her shoulder, Evie whirled about and walked away from the dojo.

Axius fought and strained against he spell and after a good ten minutes he finally broke it. He picked up his sheath and put his sword away. Then with out another word he left the dojo.

Aero entered the premises with a wide grin, wiped clear across his face. He would be lying if he said he wasn't excited about being accepted into a squad. And squad one no less! It was an impressive achievement. Aero assumed. In all fairness, he wasn't really sure how things worked around here. Everything here was so... Foreign. Even though he had been there for a while, it still felt so strange. But this place seemed different. He felt he could understand this place. It was a gym. But more Japanese. Gyms he understood. If there was a gym, that must mean there were weights. He peered around the room, until his eye rested upon a complete set of weights over in the corner. He walked over, and picked up the forty pound weights, one in each hand, and began to lift them one after the other.

One after the other he lifted the weights carefully, breathing out as each one descended. It had been a while since he last really worked out. Not since, well, when he arrived in Soul Society. He figured, what was the use of working out if your already dead. But he could feel the strain in his muscles as he lifted each weight. Aero never really thought about if his spirit could gain muscle mass, but apparently there was still much in this world that could surprise him. His mind was wandering as he got lost in his breathing. In, and out. Weight goes up. Weight comes down. It actually felt good to start working out again. It reminded him so much of being alive. He actually hadn't felt this good since, well, since he was in boot camp. That was a weird thing to think, but it kind of felt... true.

He set down the weights and picked up a dumbbell, and tried to lift it up in the air. It was strenuous, he really was out of shape. Which was strange, because he didn't feel like his body had changed that much since he had arrived in Soul Society. In fact, he didn't really notice anyone change that much. Except when people didn't get water. That was the only time they really changed. He managed to do three reps, before he felt his legs getting weak. Is this really how far he fell? Only three reps on... Wait, he never checked how much weight he was lifting. He was busy thinking about his time in Boot camp. He set the weights down, just so he could see how much he was lifting. "Huh... 100 kilograms?" He was actually a little bit dumbstruck. That was more than his own weight. Maybe he was a little stronger than he remembered.

Durzin leaned against the wall in a shadow cloaked corner not far from the weight set Aero was experimenting with. He observed silently as he lifted the weights, one after another. A small smile quirked at the corner of his mouth when he saw the new Shinigami's reaction to the weight he was lifting. He checked to make sure he was still obscured well enough by the shadow as to not elicit a reaction from the man for his appearance. Then he spoke, his voice ringing out lightly across the dojo like the clearest of bells, "Training is different here in the Soul Society. You can build muscle mass, it just isn't generally done in the way it is on earth. Your entire person is made of spiritrons and other spiritual energies, whatever you focus more on, is where they gather. As you train you build up more of this energy slowly, much as lifting weights would slowly rip and then rebuild the muscle in you arms on earth. Here your focus and drive slowly builds your energy reserves, and your current wish for more strength sends that newfound energy into your taxed muscles. It goes much more quickly than mundane training. You'll find that after not so very long slicing a boulder in half won't be an issue, merely an expedient way of making a nice chair."

Aero looked around, confused as to what was going on. "Oh bloody hell the room is talking to me..." He continued to look around until his eyes rested on a figured cloaked in shade. He couldn't really tell very much about him, but he could feel that someone was there. "No... Wait... It's just a guy over there..." he said, reassuring himself that he was not going crazy. Always a good thing to reassure oneself. He wandered closer to where the man was , hoping to get a better look at him. "So we are made of Spiritons at increase instead of your body? That would explain why I've been seeing 12 year old girls with the strength of a rogue elephant." He said, relieved that Soul Society wasn't secretly giving children steroids. He glanced at a set of manacle weights next to the dumbbells he was just lifting. He grinned, having formulated a reasonably plan for what he wanted to train next. He walked over and attached 30 pound weights to each of his wrists and ankles. He walked slowly over to shadowy corner until he could clearly see the man's face. He extended his arm for a handshake, manacles still attached. "The name is Aero. Thanks for explaining that for me. I'm still kinda new here. I could always use a good sparing partner if your interested. You don't have to use these weights, it's just something I was use to way back when."

Durzin chuckled slightly at the shinigami's initial reaction. He waited calmly, scarcely moving while Aero took his time to locate and mark Durzin's location. Even as he began approaching he didn't move from his shadowed refuge. 12 year old girls? Durzin's deep cultured laugh echoed out slightly again, "You'd be quite surprised, they may appear to be 12, but many are several hundred years old." Though Aero would be unable to see it Durzin's eyebrow arched slightly when the other Shinigami turned and paced back to the weights, where he soon had a set attached to his own limbs. Moments later he was coming back towards Durzin, his hand extended. Still not wishing to elicit a reaction in regard to his own shocking features he drew deeper into the shadows for a moment, all the while his hand extended to take the offered hand.
"I'm not all that ancient myself, only recently achieved my Release. But if you wish to spar..."His bright white teeth flashed in the shadows in pleasure at the thought, his thumb on his unnocupied hand loosening his blade in its scabbard. Aero may have noticed a formless movement in the deep shadows, but he wouldn't be able to see the blade...not this blade, not in this little light.
"I've never been one much for lifting, I spent my days back on Earth in...less satisfactory conditions, I kept in shape by sparring, although admittedly with a foil."

"foils, eh? It's been a while since I've seen one of them. Admittedly I haven't held one since I was 16..." He laughed, remember his less than favorable experience in the fencing club his mother made him join, which ultimate ended in him beating the hell out of a rather pompous upperclassman.
"But if you want we can use swords. I mean I've been using my to haul around my stuff..." Aero said pointing to the door. Sure enough, there was his katana with a bindle containing most of Aero's stuff. He walked over to his bag and unsheathed his sword. The katana was an interesting sword, but it wasn't his style. It looked pretty, but he needed something a bit more to his type of combat. But it couldn't hurt to get a bit of experience with this type of weapon.
"This should be fun." He said, a smile across his face. He took a stance, awaiting an attack. This wasn't going to go well, he could tell. The weights were not going to help. But he need the experience, and this was an interestig way to get it.
"By the way, I forgot to ask. What is your name?"

"Then you sir may be in for a fight, I've been fencing, sparring, and practicing several other blades since I was a wee little lad being raised as an escort. But, then again, while I am better with the blade I am mostly an all-rounder." The hand that had been shaking Aero's drew back and each finger slowly wrapped around the hilt of us own razor sharp, though dully lit katana, it was a special blade. "My name is Durzin, Durzin de Treilo." Finally he stepped from the shadows. His nigh on perfect visage finally coming to light, over the years he had suffered both disparagement and praise for the sheer beauty inherent in his face and body. It was a thing he was slowly learning to live with.
As he stepped out and forwards he continued his long strides, closing the distance between the two smoothly and with great alacrity. During the last step he brough his shoulder forwards and rotated his body, adding extra torque to the left to right upwards diaganal slash now making its way towards Aero. He was no expert yet, but he was proficient in quick draw techniques.

Aero fumbled a bit with his sword, caught off guard by the speed Durzin's draw. He lifted his katana into the air to block the attack. His block was clumsy, the weights on his arms made it too difficult to act react properly. His katana was forced out of his hands, and Aero fell back.
"You're pretty sharp Durzin." Aero said with a smile, picking himself off the ground. He fixed himself, and couldn't help but notice that even if he didn't have the weights around his arms that would have been a difficult blow to block for him. It was nice to get some sparring in, and after all if he was going to be a member of First squad he was going to have to get use to one on one fights. He picked up his sword off the ground and looked at it disappointingly.
"The Katana's an interesting weapon, isn't it? Not my cup of tea. But you have admire it a little."
Facing Durzin, Aero gripped the handle if his katana and took a horizontal swing at Durzin with his Katana. Aero could feel that he was not use to the weights on his arms, and it showed in his attack. It was slow. Sloppy even. This was not going to work out. He either needed to take the weights off, or get used to them real fast. Or perhaps, there was another way?

He took notice of the quick reactions and block of his opponent, it had been poorly placed and supported, but the intent and reaction had been in line. "It's a weapon of grace and smooth lines. No other weapon in the world has the cutting power of a Japenese katana." His gorgeous face quirked into another small smile before he spoke again. "Stay still, Bakudo Number One, Sai." Durzin released a slightly modified version of the Kido, turned in a new direction it would be weaker but the target more applicable, now it would simply pin Aero's arms to where they were in space. Were he to allow it a bare millisecond later Durzin's blade, the etchings up and down its length seeming to writhe through the air would strike, each of the cuffs being sliced in half, not a hair being touched on Aero's arms. Seconds later their own weight and gravity would cooperate to bring them falling to the floor.
"I take it you are more used to close quarters combat? With say a shorter blade? If so I know an excellent knife fighter in the Ninth you may wish to strike up a conversation with. He goes by the Name of Moyashi Maikeru. Now, back to the matter at hand as they say." With a thought he dispelled the kido he had released on Aero and stepped forward. His blade leaving a dull grey afterimage as it sliced through the air. He led with a simple thrust, his whole body weight behind it, this was quickly followed by a rotation of the blade and a swipe to the right, as it swung about he brought it up and brought the Zanpakutou down vertically towards his opponents skull.
"It is fair to warn you, spars here are often nearly to the death, the healers are excellent and we heal quite well on our own."

"That was not very gentleman-like using magic in a sword fight. But thanks for the advice, I'll look him up after this..." Aero said, purposefully falling backwards to avoid the Durzin's thrust. It wasn't quite fast enough, as a long cut went up his stomach. The sword was now coming down towards his head. He needed to do something. In a moment he thought of something. He Blocked the oncoming downward slash with his sword in one hand, he didn't need to hold the blow for more than a second. He picked up one of the weights that Durzin had cut off, and threw it at Durzin's head.
This would give him time to jump up and move back from Durzin. He needed space between them for the moment. "So wait, you guys fight to the death? It's that against some rule? I'm your comrade!" He said, a little taken back at what his squad mate said. His arms felt so much lighter, but that was of little solace right now. He held his stomach, which was starting to bleed pretty bad.
"If that's the case, I think I'll throw in the towel for now. So where did you say the medical center was so I can get this thing patched up?" He said, holding his chest wound. It was starting to bleed more heavily now. Durzin got a pretty clean cut, but it wasn't quite mortal.
