She slowly pushed herself off the ground, still teary eyed, looking straight ahead at the forest in front of her. Blood of the bird and girl sprinkled the ground. For some reason it felt like Amane was the only one who made it out alright, like she was the only one who didn't get hurt or injured. Yet in another way, she was the only one who made a big deal about it. Was the Witch crying now? For some reason, Amane had her doubts about that. In fact she was almost positive that the girl was laughing sadistically now... Probably biting off a doves head or something weird... She looked through the trees, already knowing what she had to do. She began to run full speed, hoping to avoid the bamboo shoots which was no easy task. Not at her speeds anyways. However this was a typical thing of the Ashi clan. Whenever they felt bad, or someone made fun of them for their spacey personalities, they'd run. The would run as fast as they could, and they would keep moving until they had everything put behind them, for they were the fastest, and they had the ability to leave everything behind with their speed. So that was what Amane was going to do, she was going to leave everything in the past with her ability.

Amane's Run
After the battle with Haruka, Amane is feeling distressed and emotional. It's time to do what the Ashi clan is known for! Run with all your might, and help yourself forget your problems. The run consists of two parts. First running through the bamboo thickets, avoiding getting hit by them even as you move at full speed. And then, running through the village to get home. This part is just a straight out run at full speed, no bars attached. Keep on running until you've worked out your stress, problems, and sorrows.

She hit her shoulder and stumbled a little, however she kept running. Though the blow did keep her from full speed, she didn't care though. She would persist on, no matter what the effort, no matter what the pain. He shoes kicked up dirt as she continued her running, sweat from her training and sparing was beating down her face. Tears fell off of her narrow cheeks. She couldn't get over what had happened yet, everything seemed so quick, yet here she was, it had seemed they fought through the night. After such a fight, shouldn't she feel accomplished? Like she had won something? She had won, right? She seemed to be less bruised, and delivered more attacks... Then why didn't she feel like it? Why did she feel like that Haruka girl was laughing? Laughing about the way Amane felt, was that what she wanted? She continued to run through the thicket, bumping into trees, she just wasn't generally aware of her surroundings... She tried to run even more, tried to go even faster, she had to put everything behind her, no matter what. Her hands swung back and forth, making her move even faster through the bamboo trees. Her heart thumped, her lungs inhaled, her mind ran, her feet moved. Everything around her was moving, living, and she was running through it. She had to escape these thoughts

Everything at this point was a blur. The trees, her mind, everything. She ducked through a couple of nearby bamboo trees, and leaped over one on the ground, slowly picking up a solid form of momentum. However she wasn't there yet, she felt she still had more she needed to do before she felt better. And because of that, her eyes just looked straight ahead. She tried to think of her family, and what they would say to her right now. Her dad would give a half smile, and tell her not to worry, the answer would come. He was like that, bad with words, so he would always just tell her to figure it out in her own manner. Her Grandpa would laugh whole heartily, and say she was just a kid. He would then likely tell a story about a similear situation he had when he was a youth, only he would put a comedic spin on it, and by the end she and him would both be laughing into the night. The tears still flickered down her cheeks, she was beginning to realize how tough becoming a Shinobi was. In a lot of ways, she was truly alone in this village. Her feet sunk into the ground as she whimpered slightly, she wanted a friend... She wanted her family member... She didn't want that bird to be dead, there was just so much that she wished for, but didn't believe she could have...

Amane ran through the bamboo thicket, however as she tried to sidestep one of the pieces of bamboo, she tripped and fell flat onto her face. However she was used to falling, and had to learn how to recover long ago. She rolled and quickly turned the falling into her advantage, and kept up with her forward momentum. Though she hadn't achieved full speed yet, it was difficult in this thicket after all. However already she felt as if her legs were starting to grow tired, such was the disadvantage with going in a full out sprint, you usually couldn't last very long. However despite any of this she kept running, her eyes trained on everything around her. The animals, the grass, the shoots. She had to watch all of it, she couldn't let it keep her off guard. She was moving to the point of creating a small gust of wind do to displacement, however she knew in her heart she could get more. She knew this was only the beginning of her abilities, yet for some reason it still didn't feel enough. Her green eyes were still watery, but no longer weepy. They were slowly being glazed over with a new form of determination... Her knee was bleeding due to the spill she had just took, but it was only a small cut, she didn't care. Right now all that mattered was leaving this forest, this fight, this hardship behind her.

Amane ran as fast as she could, and then found herself tripping over another bamboo shoot that was lying on the ground. She tripped and tumbled to the ground, this time she did not roll automatically up. Water in her eyes, she slammed her fist into the ground, yelling in frustration. She pushed herself up off the ground sniffling in frustration. She knew that her family would want her to get up, that they wouldn't want her to cry about failure. But how could she not be sad? She wished to be as strong as her father or grandpa, she was the first blood woman of the Ashi clan! And because of that, she had to grow stronger then both her father and grandfather. She had to be the fastest of her family, the fastest of the world! And that is why she pushed herself off of the ground, that is why she started to run again. Cuts, scrapes, bruises, various other ouchies were just a thing she had to go through to achieve power, or rather speed. If her legs burned she would run faster, if someone tried to stop her, she would plow through them. This was her mission, and this is what she told herself as she ran through the bamboo thicket. She decided it was time to get to her house, and change into a fresh pair of cloths, and then get off to the academy. However before that, she had to run a little bit more... She had to become a little bit stronger... Oi, this was slowly becoming a long day for the young girl! She cracked her first smile at the thought, slowly beginning to cheer up

Amane grinned as everything around her turned into a fine blur. She jumped and leaped through pieces of the bamboo. She jumped in the air and didn't stumble even a little. She kept running, faster and faster. She could see the outskirts of the village, she was getting close now. She began to run even faster, she was almost at her limit... But she didn't care, she just gave a half smile. Haruka was a killer, and she had succeeded in taking that creatures life. Thinking about it, she had probably taken many others lives to. However there was nothing Amane could do about that, that was in the past. However where Haruka was a killer, she would have to be a protector. Her legs were strong, therefore she would use them to protect everyone, and would use them to carry those who had fallen. The blur was starting to clear, she could see things around her, birds flying. Everything was beginning to make sense now. Tears no longer flowed from her eyes, however a smile was still not stapled on her face. But it was nice to see she was getting better. As sweat beat off of her forehead, and caused her shirt to cling to her body more instead of fluttering freely in the wind. Her eyes went focused on what was ahead of her. Her legs moved in a dramatic fashion, her arms kept up moving back and forth to. Sweat could be seen making it's way down her arms, flickering off of her rather small biceps. Her hands were warm where the gloves were, though she didn't care.

Amane ran and hopped over the bamboo pieces, and all was going well, until she jumped over one on the ground, not paying attention to one that was standing straight up. She tried to dart to the side, however her leg caught on it, and she fell to the ground, hitting hard. She kept up her rolling, knowing that if she stopped moving fast she would have to start regaining speed again, which she just didn't want to do at this point! She rolled and put her hand down, pushing up into the air. She flew for a second, and then was on her feet again, running at full speed. Her hair was stuck back in a spiky like manner already, which she didn't mind nor care about. Dirt had stricken to her body now, because when she tumbled she happened to be wet with sweat, making the dirt she was in stick to her body. As she ran it was a funny thing to watch. Her body was fit as an athletes, and her eyes were lit with a sense of determination. However her body was small and frail, very childish. The dirt clinging to her body seemed like a kid playing in the mud, but anyone who smelt her could tell that she had been running hard, and putting everything she had into this run. She could practically hear the hustle and bustle of the town. She would be there in no time, things were becoming clear. She would be up and functioning soon...

Amane once again stumbled, and ended up muttering some curses that were obviously to old for her age. Though she also pushed up in a similear manner as she did a few moments ago, and managed to keep a semi constant speed, not loosing that much momentum. She was beginning to grow frustrated, however it wasn't like she could let that effect her run. The smallest thing could cost her speed, which would ruin this. However she growled, she knew she had to get better if she was going to keep Haruko from doing those awful things... From bringing death to the world. She shuttered. She didn't see a horrible mangled body, she didn't hear her screams. She didn't need to. Seeing a lifeless body, sit there, not respond or say anything to her child. That was more than enough to make her realize that she never wanted to see death again. How could that Uchiha Witch be so alright with it? Causing death and destruction, what reason did she have? The bird had no reason to die, and the Witch had no reason to carry out the deed. What made Amane shutter even more was the fact that she knew there were others, just like the Uchiha out in the world. Others who would kill without a second though. She would not be one of those.

In the midst of her thoughts she found herself tripping and landing on her face. She growled as she swore again, this was exactly why she was running, to get these bad thoughts out of her head. If she let her emotions begin to take over her, everything around her would become less and less clear, making it so she wouldn't be able to see the outside dangers, meaning that she she wouldn't be able to avoid well. How could she expect to dodge punches and kicks, if she couldn't even dodge bamboo shoots? She had to focus more, she had to become focused... As she said that she look notice of a pretty rabbit, and then found herself tripping again. She would have been upset, but instead she found herself chuckling that she got distracted so easily. That wasn't like her clan at all! Her feet continued to beat on the ground, her cloth shoes were worn but luckily it wasn't much of a problem, considering she had some very nice kicks! They were made by her father. It was funny, after her mommy had died, father had made an attempt to fill her role. He wasn't exactly good at it, but Amane was glad he was still trying. As her thoughts of her family began to surround her the smirk on her face slowly began to curl into a smile, it had almost seemed like she was slowly finding herself in a good mood.

She grinned as she jumped through the bamboo shoots. Not letting herself get distracted by her thoughts, and only concentrating on what was around her, such as birds flying over head, the ground giving under her feet as they slammed into the dirt. Her face was now starting to turn into a happy smile, as she felt the sweat get into her eyes, she just smiled as she felt the burn. Her chest was moving high up, and far down with every breath she took. Her heart was thumping hard, to the point where she could hear and feel it hit her chest, but she knew this was only the start. And that was exactly why a giant smile was plastered across her face. She knew that this was the first step to becoming a full fledged messenger Shinobi. That every time her foot hit the ground, she was a little closer. She looked up to the village that she was almost in. The bamboo forest portion of her run was over, no longer did she have to worry about getting hit, from here on out it was only speed. She wondered if she could keep up with herself, she was slowly growing fatigued... And to think, she had some academy classes to get to later in the day! It didn't matter, she would deal with those when they came, for now she was doing this, so for now she had to run. Run without turning back, run with the dirt on her face and the smell of sweat coming from her body. Run with her pride and honor, for she had to grown stronger in order to protect.

[Enter from Cliffs]

Sukotto arrived to the bamboo forest quickly, as he was in a rush to return to his squad that was waiting for him at the cliffs. He didn't like to leave them, especially since they had only just gathered there, but he really had no choice, as his errand was of utmost importance, and would benefit the squad in the long run anyway. He was at the forest for a bamboo pole, but not just any plain bamboo pole would do. Sukotto would be looking for a sturdy, yet flexible pole that would last, but not be too firm to resist work done to it. While one would assume that the task was an easy one, it in fact was not, for high quality bamboo sticks were very hard to find, at least ones that met Sukotto's high standards. He would have to hurry himself, as he had one more errand to run before returning to his squad, and he also wanted to begin his chakra training as soon as possible, but he didn't want to rush himself too much so that he would pick an unworthy pole. He was faced with the task of rushing and being picky at the same time, sort of like a tactic one would have to use in a fight when attempting to find a hidden opponent. While you had to rush to make sure you didn't get hit by a sneak attack, you also had to be picky enough so that you didn't overlook the enemy's hiding place.

While moving through the bamboo forest in search of a suitable pole to use for his plans, Sukotto decided to think about his future with genjutsu. Much of these thoughts would be somewhat of a review, as he had already thought of the illusionary techniques quite a bit, but he liked to do it to come up with new ideas for techniques or ways to train. What he would be after on this train of thought was different ways to execute genjutsu, making them more difficult to avoid, and making them usable when other techniques would fail. The most common way for an Uchiha to cast genjutsu was through their eyes, using the Sharingan. This was effective, however, if Sukotto ever found himself battling an opponent who had fought the Sharingan in the past, he would have difficulty casting genjutsu upon them, since they would know the weaknesses of the kekkai genkai. If he developed additional ways to cast the illusionary techniques, then he would have much more luck with his genjutsu against those who had built up a defense against the Sharingan. Since the core idea of genjutsu was to affect the senses of the target, Sukotto would attempt to examine each of the senses and determine a way to use them against the person to enable the casting of his illusion.

The first sense that the Uchiha would examine would be sight. It was the sense that was associated with the power of the Sharingan, and it was what the Sharingan used to cast its genjutsu. Since skilled opponents of the Uchiha kekkai genkai would understand the weaknesses of the Sharingan, they would understand what they would need to defend against with their sight. Sukotto figured that by casting a visual genjutsu with another part of the body, it would take the enemy off guard by attacking one of their strengths in an unexpected way, which would be even more powerful than attacking a weakness. The Uchiha first considered crafting some sort of item that would catch the opponent's eye so that they would automatically look at it. Once their vision was focused on this object, Sukotto would be able to enable the genjutsu. Back when he had fought against the unknown opponent on Haha Island, Sukotto's eye had been caught by a bright and shiny object that reflected the sunlight into his eyes. All it would take to replicate this was getting a mirror of some sort and using it to lure the opponent's gaze to the object. Sukotto would seriously consider adopting this tactic, since he strongly believed that it was in fact a mirror that had been used to lure him into the powerful genjutsu on Haha Island.

Using some sort of object would be a good idea, but if his opponents happened to notice the object before he used it, they would realize that they'd need to be wary of it and treat it as though it were a sharp knife or shuriken. After considering this, the Uchiha figured that he would need to think of something a little more sneaky to use while executing his genjutsu. Since he was an Uchiha, his eyes would be an obvious thing to avoid, so he considered using a different part of his body. This would be very effective against someone trained against the Sharingan, as they'd put all of their concentration into attempting to avoid the kekkai genkai and let their guard down in other areas, areas that Sukotto could more easily exploit. The most obvious and easy thing to use would be his hands. Highly trained shinobi knew to try and attempt to stare down an opponent's hands, carefully watching their seals to predict the technique or even simply the element of the person who was casting the jutsu. Sukotto could use the shinobi's training against them by faking a few seals, drawing the shinobi's attention to his hands, and then finally allowing his genjutsu to consume them, a process that they would have difficulty resisting.

Sukotto figured that his hand seal trick would work quite well against his opponents, and if the genjutsu that he was trying to cast required a set of seals, then he wouldn't actually have to hide them from the opponent, as before the realized what he was trying to cast, they'd already be under the power of his illusion. He felt as though it was a rather good plan and decided that he had come up with enough ideas for the visual sense, and moved onto another sense. A particular sense that he had visited in his thoughts before was the sense of smell. Since many of the elite tracking shinobi relied on their keen sense of smell to locate their targets, Sukotto figured that this strength could be used against them, just like highly trained visual shinobi could be countered in a similar way. By forming a scent of some sort, the Uchiha could lure the enemy into following that scent, and eventually, walking directly into his genjutsu. The Uchiha liked the idea of countering such a powerful skill with his genjutsu activation. As he continued his search for the illusive bamboo pole, he began to think of how he would go about making these scents, and making them in a way that would cause his opponents to follow it.
