Admonish Misconstruction

The ODST clicked on his COM, curiosity pickling him like a biting ant. "Where are we headed?" He asked, whether into a ship awaiting to pick them up from the blasted planet or to a city to defend to spill more alien blood, Winter liked the second choice.

His nose sniffed the air, blood and gunpowder, a pleasant mix, the scent of battle.

He turned to the floor of the Pelican, called the "blood tray", surely it had lived up to its nickname with its dark red goo of blood forever stained to the surface. That meant one thing, to many marines had died that day, he wanted to voice his annoyance but the time wasn't right, he wouldn't allow the curse to slip under his breathe.

"Keep your head in the game." Smith told a marine who fumbled to light his cigarette, sliding a hand across the mans green shoulder plate he turned once more pacing down the pelican keeping his precise balance. He didn't want to go rolling out the back did he?

Anthony's vision began to clear as he lay on the floor of the Pelican. Beside him, Dansmith was hard at work on his shoulder.

"Dansmith.... Any sign of the Lieutenant or anybody else?" He asked.

Moving just as fast as the dropships they heard, Kyle and his men moved along the hall at the end of the elevator shaft. They all jogged and moved down the halls which were cleaneed spotless but were only black to the naked eyes seeing the darkness of space around one's self.

Admiring the small quiet moment in the vastness of space, Kyle returned to his work

Ashton nodded to Karr, and finished pulling out the Spike. Blood squirted only momentarily as he applied a Coag-Patch.
"Affirmative, sir, everyone's onboard and accounted for! We're currently leaving the LZ en-route to our destination. This might hurt, by the way."

He mercilessly popped the man's shoulder back in to place, even though some of the bone in the joint was shattered. Better that than have his arm slowly suffocate from a lack of fresh oxygen. Dansmith injected Ostio-Foam in to the joint, and the substance instantly began to harden and eat away the old, fragmented bone. He taped up the man's shoulder, then put a stiff sling around his arm.

"You can take that thing off in about an hour, sir! If you move your arm before then, though, I can't guarantee the foams will set properly!" The roar of the engines was still loud until the doors shut, and then an apparently muffled silence enveloped them as the red Emergency lights came on, illuminating the troop bay.

It settled Matts nevre to hear that everyone was on board. He was tired of all this waiting crap. He took the mag out of his SRS99D and checked to make sheer that he had 4 rounds. Then put the mag back it and rocked the hammer back. He looked up at the Cpt. and said," Sir, how are we going to blow that AA gun up by hand, that thing is mad big, Sir."

Lee looked back at the Private who had spoken to him and looked him straight in the eye, a look so determined on his face that the thought of failure seemed an impossible one.
"We're going to get in there, and kill every son of a whore in that battery. And when we're done wiping the floor with covvie heads, we'll scrounge up whatever ordinance they have stockpiled and light the fuse.
Sound simple enough, Private?"
As the captain spoke, a short clip of a nearby outpost going up in flames played in his HUD. The pillar of flame ascended upwards, a surefire sign that whoever had done the demo job had made sure not to damage the tunnels underneath. Lee re-watched the clip, gleaning in it's contents an omen of what was to come.

Anthony nodded. "Who's dead... is what I ment Corporal."
The pain from the wound shot through his arm.

"Ss far as intel feeds me so far, we've lost five warthog's worth of men, and at least another squad. We have some here now who are in critical condition, but they're getting stabilized, sir. around twenty-four men in all, sir, but that's only a rough estimate. We're going to be losing more, soon, I'm afraid. It is war, sir." He sat the man up, and handed him his canteen before standing up to move to another, less wounded, Marine: broken leg, but no surface punctures.

In the depths of his mind, he remembered TEAMCOM reading Warren as flatlining. Unsure of weither to bring it up... he sifted the thought, and finally asked the Sergeant.

"I'm sorry... I'm somewhat woozy Sergeant. Now, what about Warren? Did he make it aboard or not."

Anthony just wanted to confirm his Teammate to be KIA. His COM might have been destroyed, or he could have been knocked out somewhere... he didn't want to leave a man behind. And if Warren was still alive, Anthony would go pull him out himself; alone if he had to.

In answer, Dansmith just looked at the Warrant Officer, not saying a word. He then turned to another needy soldier, if only to keep his mind occupied.
Some things don't need to be spoken. He thought to no one in particular, but in his lapse, he forgot that he had someone always listening to him.
I've contacted his family. Just a text message, but it does the job. Also, I placed him under my highest recommendations for Outstanding Service medals and honors. Not that every soldier doesn't deserve them, but he was something... special.
Indeed. He taped up the man's arm, having placed a patch of StemCells on the burnt and molten flesh.

Anthony knew the silence of the solider. He nodded when Dansmith turned around, and got up off the ground.

Upon plopping himself into a seat on the side, he grabbed the shoulder pad and re-attached it onto his whole armor set. His mind could not really fathom the past 32 hours... He had lost 2 under his command... But, a new thought came into his mind. The lives of those men, were spent, so the lives of 10 other marines would be spared. A negitive way to think, but his nerves settled.

The Warrent officer went to pull a clip from his rifle back, but after all that happened, he had just realized, he left the rifle back in the tank.

"Damnit..." he cursed.

He got up from his seat. Slight turbulance rocked the Pelican, but Anthony keeped his stedy. In the top compartment, Anthony removed the clips holding the spare BR55 in place, and brought it down. Attached to the stock were 2 clips of ammo. Just enough to keep him going untill he got his Rifle back.

He opened the COM channel. "Victor Seven-Zero-Five, this is Bravo One-One-Six. Lieutenant, are you there? Over."

Seth was going over squad statistics when his COM chimed.
He heard Karr's voice and answered in turn.

"Bravo-One-One Six this is Victor-Seven-Zero-Five. I'm here Warrant Officer. Go ahead."

[James Mitchell]

James took off his helmet and dropped it to the deck, then relaxed in his seat. "Damn it!" James said to himself and cringed at the now sharp sudden pain going through his side. James just hadn't noticed it in the fight, he had had a job to do, he lead the squad of Marines out of Crow's Nest; it was the first time had ever had to take control of situation like that, the pressure was unreal but he had gotten accustomed to it by the time they had gotten to WO Karr. James gritted his teeth and held back a noise of any kind and replaced his helmet with a green duty-cap and a pair of black sun-glasses that he had stowed in a small service pack strapped to his waist. James smiled and looked down at the bandage around his stomach; it was stained with fresh blood. James was in pain true, but he didn't want to show it. The Marine next to him looked down at the bandage and said aloud. "We need a medic over here! The Corporal is bleeding all over the place!" Damn, James sighed cringed once more. Well, cats out of the bag.

The ODST flashed a eye to the creeping Anthony, "so.. Whats going on now?" Smith asked through private COM, yawning within his helmet, there was no fatigue prickling at him but the sudden boredom that had gotten to him. No, he didn't think of the dead, not yet. It wasn't the time.

"The fighting can't be over yet." Winter continued.

His assault rifle lay across his black armored lap, the hell-jumper preferred the tool that lay across his hips, simple, decently accurate, swinging out a lot of lead in a short moment. Dammed good, dammed good.

But that wasn't all he carried, jacket shield, two plasma pistols slung to his side and his friendly neighborhood magnum. He was loaded, the weight bearing his down. Swinging the Covenant weapons from their sockets he slung them across the wall. Leaving them for whoever picked them up, for whoever needed them.
