Jack sat there motionless, watching Syvra for some time. Their eye’s never left each other’s, both of them returning the other’s look of hate. He finally coughed once, removed himself from the floor, and stalked over to his closet. After rummaging through it, he emerged with a few feet of rope. He moved over to Alice’s side, binding her hands. The rope wouldn’t hold her for long, but he didn’t need it to. Next he moved over to the male vampire’s body. Jack frowned, not knowing what to do with him. He decided he would kill him soon, but for now binding his wrists and feet would have to do. He set to work, dragging the vampire’s body to the opposite side of the room as Alice when he had finished. “I think you have had enough,” Jack said to Syvra, but he made no move to stop her, instead waving a hand that sent a shower of freezing water across Alice’s body. He crouched in front oh her, his face a mere inches away. “Wake up, dear. I didn’t lie when I said we have much to discuss.”

Alice was torn from her dark serenity by the ice water being splashed on her. Her eyes flashed open to see Jack towering over. Rage filled her at his words. "I have nothing to say to you."She said then spat in his face. Oh how she loathed him. She felt rope around her wrists. She connected her telekineses again but she was still weak. Too weak. Damn... She thought.

Jack laughed, but it was a haunting laugh with more insanity then humor in it. “Feisty, but I have a feeling you wont be like that for long.” He inclined his body slightly to the left, just enough to give Alice a brief glimpse of Rose’s limp body being fed from by Syvra. He snapped back in front of her, blocking her view once more. His hand went to her chin, holding it firmly in place. “Now you listen to me and you listen good, Alice.” His smiled was gone, replaced with cold features and eyes fixated on Alice’s, as if looking into her and not at her. “You are going to heal me. The first time will be hard, but I can promise that you wont die.” He let go of her chin, rocking back on his ankles to look her over. “I guess you cant do it quite yet, you are too weak, and the process would, in fact, kill you. I cant have my little Spirit going out on me, can I? No no, not at all.” He smiled almost kindly, shaking his head. It sounded like he was talking to himself now, and he wasn’t even looking at her anymore, instead peering around the room leisurely. “I’m very ill, you see. Dying, actually. The doctors said I could live a few more happy years, as long as I kept well rested.” He laughed again, but there was a darkness creeping in with the insanity. “Well rested?! How the hell can I keep well rested when I have a clan to run? Its ridiculous. And even then, once I die, who could possibly take over? My clan needs me to win this war. Demyx is much too soft. All the elementals will die off, become extinct, gone forever!” Jack waved his hands around, and suddenly he was looking at Alice again. “Which reminds me: Once you heal me the first time, I’m afraid I cant let you go. You must stay with me during the war. Doubtless I will get myself well injured exterminating the Lycans. They are a messy bunch. Demyx thinks we can live in peace with them, but he is damn ignorant.” Jack shook his head. “I apologize, I’m rambling like a stereotypical bad guy. Forgive me.” He shrugged and gave her an apologetic look before setting his hand on his knees and staring into her eyes. “Now, what do you say? Heal dear, sick Jack?”

Alice listened to his words, bile rising in her throat. He disgusted her to her very soul. She knew his question was rhetorical. Whether she went quietly or not was up to her. Ugh, how she couldn't stand that smug smile of victory. She wanted to rip his throat out. She glanced over at Rose. They would both pay for this. But for now she all she could do was go along for the ride. "I don't have a choice now do I you filthy son of a b***h." Her rage bubbled relentlessly inside her. And was now joined with pain. She reached out her mind, screaming for help. But then she felt something. A pressing connection. She focused on it. Cora...is that you? She called out. Hoping to god she was right.

Kye kept his eyes closed, listening to each and every one of Jack's words. He had already torn the ropes around his arms, but kept them back there, he didn't want to alert Jack or Svvra of his consciousness. He was recording everything with his watch, and wondered how long he had been out.
"No more than fifteen minutes.....the blood hasn't kicked in yet."
He heard Jack's demand, and his comment about exterminating the Lycans. "That would end the war...unless the elementals are trying to take over...." His heart rate quickened slightly as the blood he had earlier was taking it's effect. "And since elementals have been neutral until now...they have a much larger force than Vampires or Lycans..." The full effect of that thought hit him hard and he knew he must do something. He couldn't snap the ropes with his legs or he would attract the attention of the people in the room, so he waited for Jack to continue, ready to strike at a moment's notice.

No, Cora, there is nothing you can do to help. My children are up in the mountains, far away from here. Even I cannot help. And besides, this is not your burden. It isn’t even your side of the war. These are feral Lycans we are dealing with, and despite my attempts to sooth them, they will not listen. This is me against them now. Demyx glanced up at her again. This mind connection had its downfalls. There was very little he could hide from her, even if he felt it was for her safety. Don’t….don’t worry yourself with my thoughts. I’m afraid they get a little dark at times. Just sleep, I have a feeling your going to need all the rest you can get. And don’t worry, I always have Jack and Rose to help me.
---------------------
Jack slapped Alice hard across her face, rocking back on his heels from the force. He rubbed his stinging hand, shaking his head disappointedly. “No, actually, you don’t. But I thought you might be smart enough to help me on your own. Oh, and don’t ever speak to me that way again.” He stood, towering over her. “If you step out of line, or you refuse to help….” His eyes trailed over to Briarrose, a look of mock concern plastered on his face. “Poor girl, she is looking a little pale. I don’t think she has much left in her. Might not make it through the night, if someone doesn’t help her.” He laughed, but it was cut short by a rattling cough and the sound of a feeble struggle. “Don’t help him Alice!” Rose spluttered, her body twisted slightly in the vampire’s grasp. Her voice was harsh, as though she were forcing out every word. “No matter what happens to me, don’t help him! He doesn’t deserve to live.” Her eyes fixed on him with all the hate in heart. He had betrayed her, Alice, and his own cousin. She spoke to him now, and her words were colder then his ice. “I’m ashamed to have ever shared a bed with you. May this disease kill you slowly and painfully, while you are alone somewhere in the dark, where there are no reflections of yourself to admire, and only the rats have to suffer through your damned echo.” She looked like she wanted to say more, but Jack dove at her, a feral growl escaping his lungs. His hands griped her head, and to her horror, a bubble of water formed there. She tumbled away from the vampire and Jack, hitting the floor with a thud. Rose swatted in vain at the water, trying to peel it away from her face to manage a breath or two. Jack stepped over her flailing body. “DO YOU SEE WHAT HAPPENS TO THOSE WHO DEFY ME?” He roared, his hands gesturing toward the Earth elemental. You could tell she was screaming from the look on her face and the large bubbles that escaped her lips, but nothing could be heard outside of the watery cage. “There is only one way to save her,” Jack hissed as the bubble rippled with his anger. “You are to weak to do it any other way.”
“Agree to heal me, Alice! Agree to heal me or watch her die!”

Kye heard everything, and it seemed that this would be the breaking point. He opened his eyes, which had turned a bright amber, the Vegnun trademark. His fangs lengthened, and the ropes which bound his legs snapped as he rolled forwards and pounced at Jack, sending him flying with a spinning kick to the side of his neck. He landed quickly, then dashed towards Svvra, a black blur, then slammed his left palm into her abdomen, grabbing her top and throwing her with the momentum of his blow.
He turned around and grabbed Alice, slinging her over his shoulder and Rose, as he passed by her, then kicked the door down, the blood and adrenaline fueling his inhuman abilities. Without a backwards glance, he was gone, out of the school and to the clearing where he went to be alone. He laid the two down slowly, then dropped out of his boost, his eyes returning to its dark shade and his fangs retracting. He staggered slightly, the injury he received earlier had started hurting again, although it had almost completely healed.
"You two alright?" he asked rhetorically before sitting down at the stump, watching them regain their senses.

Syvra snarled as she dashed into the clearing, grabbing Alice by the neck and inserting sharpened nails into the shallow bite marks she'd made and tearing them open slightly, threatening with her eyes which now glowed a disconcerting blue white. "Maybe you should ask that question when it's safe to, fake eyes." She spat in his direction, her spit still red with Rose's blood. "Vegnun. I might've known. Yours was always a weak clan. I wouldn't be surprised if you and your snivelling family were against the war despite all of your father's bluster." She backed away, leaping into the trees and standing on a sturdy branch wreathed in shadow, her temporarily maddened eyes staring back. "You're not the only one that's had the True blood tonight, fake eyes. But mine was fresher," she smacked her lips next to Alice's ear and licked up her neck, pausing to sample some of the blood seeping out of the wounds she was making deeper, "and not normal. I might just get some more." She disappeared into the foiliage with Alice. Not even Jack would find her where she was going. Only one other person knew the location, and Syvra didn't know where she was. ------------------------------------------------ I can help! she said, urging him to let her help, I can be to the mountains by midafternoon. I can even cover my face and wear something other than my traditional battle clothing. She reddened physically, hoping Demyx wasn't looking at her. The image of her usual battle armor probably wasn't traditionally what other clans or races wore, and as it floated through her hair, she tried to catch and hide it as fast as possible so Demyx wouldn't see it mentally. http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o78/FoxAnime/pic1.jpgShe detected his discomfort, and she thought, I will withdraw. And so she did. As she tried to will herself into slumber, she felt she wasn't alone. That's probably just Demyx or Syvra, she thought idly, a gentle buzzing in her head lulling her to sleep. But then something shocked her into wakefulness, making her sit up as she heard it resound through her head. Cora...is that you?She was so astonished she couldn't answer Demyx's questioning gaze. She sat still, waiting to see if the voice that sounded shockingly like Alice's would speak again. It didn't, so she relaxed and shook her head smiling ruefully, saying, "It was nothing," to Demyx before lying back down. Her confusion still showed on her face though. Nobody has been able to talk to me without me making direct contact with them or having a connection. She breathed deeply, setting into the slow rhythm of sleep. Granted, Alice is a spirit elemental, but even then, the twin connection has enough power to block it. How was she able to get past my walls?

Alice looked back at Syrva with utter hatred. Cora..please hear me! I need help!!! Syvra is going to hurt us!! Help! Alice knew that the likely hood that Cora heard her was slim. But it was worth a shot. Pain raced through her as Syvra's nails dug into her. But Alice couldn't heal herself...no...she had a better idea. It was just a matter of time. Alice looked down at Kye and Rose. She didn't want to hurt anyone else...."Go I'll be fine!" She cried, her voice cracking. "Go run!!! Tell Demyx!" She shouted as Syvra carried her off.

Jack roared in anger and frustration, throwing himself toward the window to watch Syvra hastily flying from the room. “You traitorous b***h, Ill kill you too!” He bellowed as the pipes around his room exploded, raining down water that froze instantly, sending shards like glass hurtling to the floor that shattered on impact. He tore at his hair and paced, all the while muttering under his breath the things he would do to her. The ice sounded like glass as his boots destroyed it, crushing it until the tiny pieces were finer then the lightest snow. Jack wheeled around, suddenly pounding his fists onto the table with another roar. The table responded with a creak in protest, bending until its surface cracked. His knuckles began to bleed, but he wiped it off onto his shirt, suddenly looking as calm as ever. He strode out of the room, making his way toward the edge of the forest.
-----------------------------------------------
Demyx coughed when the image of Cora in battle armor slipped past his mind, but it sounded more like a choke. He pretended as best he could not to have seen for Cora’s sake. He was about to comment instead on her staying away from the mountains, but he felt her connection waver. He shrugged, tucking back into his work. But before he even Demyx the chance to sign a single paper, Cora shot up from the couch, this time speaking to him aloud, her voice and face filled with fear. “What is it?” He asked, rushing to her side. “What has happened to Alice?”
-------------------------------------
Rose could only groan as Alice was taken from her, still trying to catch her breath and find her strength. Her vision blurred, but still she tried desperately to see what direction the vampire had fled. She managed to push herself up into a sitting position, her head swiveling to searching for Kye. Her eyes were pleading. “Alice,” She rasped. “We must save her.”

Syvra thought to Jack right before she leapt away into the clearing, Do you really think that I would trust you? Even you should know I'm smarter than that. She leapt through the trees, randomly jumping from tree to tree, often coming across trees that she'd already landed on, but she continued on, determined.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hold on," Cora said, going quiet for a minute as she concentrated, "Concentrate on our connection Demyx, and you will be able to hear Alice as well." Her eyes suddenly opened, glowing with white fire, staring directly into Demyx's eyes, and they both heard Alice's words, Cora..please hear me! I need help!!! Syvra is going to hurt us!! Help! Cora was stunned by the words, but she wasn't going to sit there and be useless. There's only one way to save Alice quickly. I only hope he accepts. She stood and drew Demyx up with her so they were holding hands and looking into each other's eyes. The white fire hadn't faded from her glowing eyes, and as her eyes stared into his, she spoke in a voice powerful and majestic, "Demyx Liceryth, will you accept a temporary gift from one of the race of vampires?"

Demyx did as he was told and concentrated on the connection between their minds. There was what felt like a ripple in his mind, as if the barrier were now made of water. Alice’s words slipped urgently into his head, where they echoed long after her voice had faded away. He paused, unsure of the look in Cora’s eyes as she grabbed his hands. He nodded slowly, trusting her in whatever she was about to do. And then a sudden thought hit his him, one that made his chest ache with worry: Rose, too, must have been with Alice, or was at some point. So why could she not help Alice? Would he be too late? Was Rose already dead? He nodded with determination this time. “Do what you must so that we can save Alice and Rose.”

Cora closed her eyes, letting go of Demyx's hands. She stuck out her tongue and sliced directly down its middle with a sharp fingernail. Using her pointer finger, she dipped delicately into the little pool of blood formed and held it out for Demyx. Her eye glow went from white fire to blood red flame. "Consume this one drop, and experience the night." And then, it was like someone else was speaking through Cora to Demyx. "Fire sprite, your powers are immense and too hard for you to contain. With this one drop of this girl's blood, you will be temporarily turned AND you will be able to control your powers and do things you can't even imagine. But among the normal things that come with being a vampire: increased sight, hearing, stealth, and speed, is the fang, the natural vampire weapon to FEED. Drink any blood during your foray into the darkness, and you will remain frozen in that state forever. You have until dawn. Use the power of darkness wisely." And with that, the mysterious entity that had taken Cora for a few seconds disappeared, leaving Cora with her still glowing eyes holding out the drop for his tongue to lap up.

Demyx took Cora’s hand, pressing her finger to his lips in acceptance of her gift. Her blood was the sweetest thing he had ever tasted, and he experienced a short moment of ecstasy before dropping to his knees. The blood seared through him like a fire he could not control, mutating his body, warping it to become a new sort of being. When he lifted his amber eyes to look at Cora, specks of red burst inside of them, eclipsing his eyes with her blood. He stood slowly as the fire melted away into a dull throb. With every slow pound of his heart, his senses heightened, until there was an entirely new world around. He was curious of this newfound power, but he had no time left to waste. He walked over to the window, throwing it open. The sun was still up, and he found that he did not like its warmth as it touched him. He ignored the feeling, turning back to Cora as he gestured at the window. “I can only hope this gift was not given in vain, and that we are not already too late.”
