Ieviathan All I have got to say about myself is that I am the only Flute playing-football player in the history of my school smile ooo thats an interesting achievement

Heart of the dark flame p0cky paradize okay flutes I have a little info most of you could use! Alrighty so you know how you put your lips on the mouth piece? Well actually your supposed to put the mouthpiece on the cereas of your chin. BUT it depends on the shape of your lips and jaw mosly. I tried this and I could get my notes higher and lower. Plus it was MUCH easier to move my lips to get different pitches. This really works and it is awesome. ~Warning~ This may not work for some people who play flute. My friend tried and it didn't work for her so don't really get your hopes up. XDD really who didn't know that??? that's how i have always played my flute.... Well you never know who doesn't. So..Yeah. anyways but yeah my own director didn't even know that and he has like a bizillion awards, he was shocked when I told him that.

TakaiDetweiler whoot, 6-7 years p0cky? Go us! XD Yay!! I'm not so alone in th world now! xD But yeah. Uhhh.. >> Ummm.. xD I forgot what I was going to say... -thinks- OH YEAH! What grade did you start in? I started when I was in like fourth grade and I'm in ninth grade. So yep. six years for me. <3

Ok so we find out tomorrow what chairs we are...i'm so nervous i have some honset competition. last year at my old school i was first in class and second for the whole band so i don't think i'll get last or anywhere close to there. well wish me luck. eek

p0cky paradize What grade did you start in? I started when I was in like fourth grade and I'm in ninth grade. So yep. six years for me. <3 I started in sixth grade, thats when my district starts band programs, and now I'm a senior - Class '08 Whoop! I've already been accepted to University of Texas and now I'm just waiting for Texas A&M University so I can be on my way XD

Hey, I'm Joseph.
I played for about 7-8.5 years. two years of sixth and then through high school. I quit the second semester of my senior year because our original band director was more or less 'advised' that he needed to transfer. The new guy named Dedeaux was a real jerk. He acted like he made us the straight-ones band that we were. I miss the old days (I'm now in my second year of college) but I would never want to go back under his direction.

I wish I could say I've been playing for a while. I'm going on to 4-5 years. I learn very quickly, though. The senior band is cut up in three grades: 10, 11, 12. I'm in Grade 11 and I'm the only flute in the 11/12 senior band class. It's so frustrating because no one can hear me because the sax section is right behind me, playing as loud as they possibly can. ><

i've been play for about 6 years, since grade 5. always wanted to play piccolo coz it means that i get to play an extra instrument. ^.^

I think every flute player I know plays like that. Weird. I see everyone's comparing how long they've been playing. Well, nine years for me... although I haven't played much at all in the last year because I moved out and didn't take my flute with me. It was a friend's flute anyway, and now it's gone. Anyway, been a flautist since grade six, and I graduated two years ago this year, so yeah... nine years. I really wish I was still playing now though... I miss it like crazy! Well, one day when I win the lottery I'll buy a new flute and go nuts...
