Carrie watched as Death's arms wrapped around the fox again squeezing with all his strength. He let go when he couldnt squeeze any harder as it was a risk of getting burned by the fox. "Alright now use your arms to spin the sand around obscure the fox's vision like it did to yours Death give it some pay back!" The ghost used his thin arms and sweeped them accross the sand with a mind of his own as he made a dust cloud like the vulpix had earlier.

The Vulpix smirked. They thought to use her own tricks against her? Fat chance of that working! She was a desert Pokemon, used to sandstorms and obscuring clouds formed by the movements of swifter Pokemon! Gathering flames in her maw, the Vulpix began to tentatively sniff the air, her ears twitching back and forth as she searched for the Driftloon. Once she was sure she had him she'd fire a blast of Ember!

((umm just curious, was I wrong with the dmg calculations?))
The ember went wide as Death kept the sand going in big swirls "Alright thats enough of the sand Death use constrict again this time make sure that the fox cant stand after it!" Carrie commanded. She wanted to weaken it a little more before she tried to catch it, she also wanted to make sure it wouldnt put up much of a fight when she did attempt a capture. Death charged out of the dust cloud his thin arms ready to wrap around the Vulpix again, though he knew other moves his trainer was stuck on this one and he wondered why as he closed in on the fox

Culann froze mid-step, staring horrified into the Krokorok's eyes. Every hair on his body stood at attention, and a cold fear built in his belly. He would never, ever be able to outrun this behemoth...
Vanni, meanwhile, felt conflicted. Her grip on the cane tightened as she stared. She wanted to recall Culann and get out of there- he was already injured, and they needed to conserve their energy if they wanted to get off the island in one piece. Still, the Growlithe seemed determined to fight- she admired that fire. And besides, it would not do to not show support for her team. "Light up the sky, Culann!" she called.
The Growlithe shook his head, slowly coming out of his trance. That was right... he was a guard, wasn't he? Even if he was out of his homeland, he was still a fighter. A low growl built in the back of his throat, and he pawed the ground. Head down, he felt the fire building in his stomach, burning out onto his fur. With a low snarl, he charged at the Krokorok with a Flare Blitz.

((Yes you're doing it right, though I will state for the record that any capture attempts would be remarkably ill advised right now. You've got less then a 50% chance at the current HP.))

Once more the Vulpix would give a faint snuff at the Diftloon. True her attacks had missed thus far, but did they really think she'd be that easy to defeat? The moment the Ghost-Type's arms would around her she'd snap them up between her teeth, jerking her head back then whipping it downward. With a firm hold on the Driftloon, her plan was to pull him forward, then slam him against the ground and watch him bounce. If it worked the Driftloon's attack would be disrupted.

">Oh look it even self flambés!<" The Krokorok cackled, tongue licking the edges of his mouth second before those jaws snapped shut ">Come n' get me ya little morsel!<" He taunted, tail lashing as he spread his stance slightly and held his arms outward. It looked much more like the Krokorok was attempting to catch the Growlithe then defend against the attack...both Pokemon and Trainer could be glad at least he wasn't attempting to do it with his mouth!
Meanwhile the Kabuto would simply quiver in Vanni's arms. What had he done? What had he done!?

((Oh I knew that it would be a bad time to try a catch))
Death would feel the teeth of the Vulpix grip him and slam him into the ground making him bounce. He shook himself as he took to the air again. "You okay Death, alright lets keep this fox on the defensive keep its moves from hitting you make another dust cloud and keep moving never give it a stationary target" The ghost nodded as Carrie gave him another command. He whipped his arms again into the sand and brushed up another dust storm keeping his movements a blur in the dust cloud.

Well, that could have gone better.
Unfortunately, Culann hadn't succeeded in crashing into the Krokorok. Instead, he'd just gotten himself trapped in the creature's not-so-sweet embrace. Worse, he wasn't sparking anymore, and he needed to take this thing down quickly. This could be a problem if he didn't get free, and quick. Growling, he struggled against his captor's binding, scratching and kicking as he did. Culann might have wanted to be close enough to attack, but this was way too close!

[CRITICAL! +1 TO DEATH'S DEFENSIVE ROLLS!]
The Vulpix shook her furry brown head, now the human was shouting redundant orders. Really, what was the use in telling the spectre to keep moving AND not to remain stationary? Did those two commands not mean exactly the same thing? It was a wonder the Driftloon wasn't so confused by it's own master's commands that it knew not what to actually do!
Well perhaps 'Death', as the child had owe so originally dubbed the Pokemon, was simply used to the child's odd form of speech.
Shaking off these rather distraction thoughts, the Vulpix would begin gathering flames within her maw, the fires smouldering around her tongue as she waited. Picked her moment. Yet even as the Fire-Type released the Ember she wondered just what it would be like to look into this kid's mind. It was potentially an astounding or horrifying sight.

">Still got some fight left eh? Guess we'll need to tenderize!<" The Krokorok shouted, his beady black eyes flashing red as his muscles tensed. With a resounding thump the Ground-Type's tail would slam into the forest floor, his claws digging into the earth as he pivoted sharply. Hands grasping Culann tight, and his tail acting as a counter weight, the Krokorok would begin spinning swiftly in circles; then as abruptly as he'd began the Krokorok would release, sending the pooch in the direction of one of the many fossilized trees in the area!
This act was followed by an enraged roar...and a series of short, high pitched snickers. Rage...albeit a false one.

The Krokorok simply yawned this time, bored with the way this battle was going already...or perhaps he was simply tired. With such a dark stripe over his eyes it was rather hard to discern such things. Feet steady against the ground, the Krokorok snapped his jaws, waiting for the flaming morsel to get closer.

8/200 As Kane spotted the Snorunt, the pokemon continued along it's merry way. The boy was actually glad because all his pokemon were in no condition to battle. He only had one potion to heal with and it would only help one. Would he be able to find some berries or something in this snowy terrain? Plus he remembered that he was searching for a rare bone as well. The boy clasped a hand to his forehead, before sighing. Great, he should've been looking for that first! Though a bit of movement would betray the fact that ...luck wasn't going to continue to be on his side. A Vanilite would smile at him then ....as she would flick after the pokemon and trainer slowly. This was going to be fun ...a lot of fun as she thought about how to freeze them solid ...an attack from behind.
That seemed like the best idea ...though maybe with a bit more help.
