I've been watching parts of Superman and Superman 2...

Am I the only one who though Margot Kidder was a poor choice for Lois Lane?

GLEEEEE! Niel Patrick Gleeris! And Artie finally got some more screen time. I like him and his voice, he gets stuck into the background a lot. I will say that this was an excellent use of a Men Without Hats song, and solid proof of his training as a pop star.
Idina Menzel gets some excellent time for her voice, though I prefer it over Lea's the duet was still nice. The two women are disturbingly similar enough to make the plot believable, possibly because there's a very classic Broadway Pretty look that they both embody to a T.

But I am annoyed that they're still not using Jenna Ushkowitz. Sure, she gets to tap, but that's not what I'm going to hear on the CD.

And furthermore, since now I know there are Gleeks here, my thoughts on the Whedonness of the episode:

Well it's no Buffy Musical, and it's no Sing-a-long Blog, but I think that's because Whedon didn't have a hand in writing it. Which I am both relieved and disapointed by. He shines best when he's got a hand in writing it, but then again, these kids are annoying enough without the rapidfire WhedonDialogue.
Best directorial moments were during the Safety Dance (I loved the panning around to catch everyone taking video capture on their phones, which felt way more natural than the people in Doctor Who) and the Sue/Bryan bit.
Piano Man was a missed opertunity though. People breaking out in song in a bar always cause more reaction than "continue about our business and pretend it's not happening."

So the Fringe finale aired. This isn't really about that. In one scene in The Other Side, Peter is walking in front of a wall with Other Side DC Comic Covers. This is not unexpected, DC is printing the Fringe book afterall.
But there are five covers, and while I figured most of them out, 1.5 are without source! From left to right:

- Crisis on Infinite Earth
- Unkown
- Red Arrow and the Red Lantern (if you google it you can find it, it was the leaked cover)
- The Dark Boyscout Returns
- Justice League (possibly made up of villains)

I'm sure I could wait ten hours to see what the rest of the world has to say (the world that had HD, curse you), but damnit, I'm awake now. The second cover is a Batman riff, there's a theory it's a take off the Death of Superman. To me it mostly looks like the Baccardi logo.
And I can't find a source for where they took that Justice League cover from. I did take some screen caps.

See if you can puzzle it out. razz

I think it's a bleeding Bat-symbol, hence the Death of Superman story. However, I have a source on the crew that I will interrogate about it >D

The Justice League one looks to me like one of those ensemble covers from the JLE/JLI days.

I think it's supposed to be a Death of Batman thing, but it just looks so much like Bacardi.

I didn't even think of JLI, but you're right. Which explains why the cover looks so familiar, though I couldn't place that cast with my resolution. So it could be any of many different covers.

Isn't that last one the JLI #1 cover with everyone looking up?

Mister Miracle being there is the giveaway.

It's a riff on that cover, but not that cover. They used that same set up several times, so I can't make a call as to what it is except something Justice Leaguey. Similarly to the others, this cover was created for the show as an injoke.

If there were better resolution, we could see what the joke is.

mad And someone on bleedingly cool news stole my screencaps and my commentary for their own article.

Oh well. Theoretically, DC will likely release the cover images now that the show has already been broadcast.

Yeah it's definitely the JLI #1 cover, but I can't see anything from that image that's different. I would assume, following the trend of the other ones, that it's a heroswap thing, but the identifiable ones all look the same.

Aaaand like I figured, The Source has posted all the covers. Good to know that my Cover Guessing Powers are still working quite well, though I'd never have figured Hex for the League

That's hilarious.

And marks the second time Hex has been on a JLI cover in that formation.
