Despite the botched attack, Prosper managed to keep his relative cool. /Just that I'm going to keep fighting you- nothing more, nothing less./ With focused effort, he yanked his paw back, trying to get it and himself out of striking range.

But, the sandshrew was a very wicked beast, he saw an opening as the Mankey pulled free ...and as he spoke those words. He would lean into it ...as he drew his fist back ...and prepared to connect with the mankey's chin.

(You are right, you are nothing more ...and I plan to make you even less)

He would put his strength behind that focus punch. If this hit right, he knew he had a chance of flinching him and that would open that pokemon to another ...swifter more powerful attack.

This was his battle to win and that girl's lose.

In the Garden of Monsters

Vanni wouldn't be left with much room to think about Phoebe soon enough, or even keep walking forward for at least a few seconds. One moment the pathway before her would be clear, and the next instant a large brown creature would sail through the air, bounce off the dirt, slam into a tree, and ricochet down and just off the path.

Upon further inspection the girl would discover the brown object to be a Kabuto. Slightly larger then most, it looked almost pudgy. Big yellow eyes gleamed, before the prehistoric creature broke into a fit of sobbing, thick heavy tears flashing against the forest floor. Kabuto could cry...who knew?
PostPosted: Sat Aug 04, 2012 1:48 pm

The trio jolted to a halt as something crashed down from the sky land and landed in a small crater in front of them. For a second, Vanni desperately wished her poor parasol hadn't met a fatal end. But then she heard the crying. And perhaps it was her own problematic past, or perhaps she just had far too soft a heart. But the girl dropped to her knees next to the Kabuto, completely concerned. "Shh, honey, shh," she intoned comforting. Carefully, she reached out and gently stroked the back of shell. "Let it out if you need to, okay?"

Culann, meanwhile, was staring at the pair with a mix of horror and annoyance. This girl was insane. But there might have been a bigger issue.

Urvogel leaned over Vanni's shoulder, a curious look in his eyes. Food? Crying in this forest tended to mean you were food. Maybe hanging out with this human wasn't such a bad idea...

Before the ancient bird could act on his impulse, the Growlithe darted to Vanni's side. Shooting Urvogel a warning look, he remarked, /Er... what's wrong? If you can talk, I mean./ Culann wasn't the best at situations like this- he was a guard dog, not a lap dog.

The Kabuto sniffed slightly as Vanni began patting his shell, and the next moment the Pokemon began to wail, tears flowing freely and splashing against the ground that one could nearly mistake it for a Water-Type move. The next moment the Kabuto would be clinging onto the girl, shuddering as he cried harder.

A few more moments the the tears would slow, but not quite stop ">...I'm so pathetic...<" The Kabuto muttered weakly.

Suddenly a deep throated cry would come from the forest farther beyond, causing the Kabuto to abruptly flinch ">OOooooooi! Where are ya!?<" The call was dripping with false sympathy ">How am I suppose to hunt without the bait? If you come out it'll hurt less this time! Hahahahahaha!!!!<"

The Kabuto would shudder, crying with renewed vigour as he constantly muttered ">...pathetic...so pathetic...<" To himself over and over.

Ferns would rustle, and a large intimidating shape would emerge. The Pokemon which emerged was reptilian in nature, like many of those that dwelt in the area...but that was where the similarities would end. Body a dusty brown streaked with black, he skulked about upon two legs, snapping his jaws as a gleam came into his eyes ">Oh so you went and found lunch for me! Good lil' bait! You get to see tomorrow then!<" The Krokorok said, laughing cruelly as he looked over the assembled group.

The Kabuto simply continued as he had before, weeping like a small child before this menacing creature. It seemed even the Pokemon world had it's bullies!

Carrie stepped off the boat and looked over the vast desert before her. She wondered what healer pokemon would ever come to this place. She walked in the heat of the day as she knew what she was to do. She had to catch a pokemon for her team a healer who could be her medic pokemon. She walked with her eyes closed listining for a pokemon that would be near.

Carrie The Ninja

((It's actually based on the time when the moderator who replies to you does so. Conveniently however that doesn't change it from the desert.))

[1/10]

Trekking across the desert sands, Carrie would see nothing but sand for miles. Valleys of sand, great heaping sand dunes, a sandstorm off in the distance/ Sand was everywhere, and it resulted in quite the monotonous sight. A movement, neither abrupt nor surprising, would however break this monotony.

The source was a Numel, short fur just barely blending in with his surroundings as he trudged slowly forward, bobbing his head back in forth to the tune of some unheard song. Though given the slow, lazy movements of the creature, it seemed likely the song wasn't any more exciting then the surroundings.

((New lesson. Encounters. Whenever you encounter a Pokemon there are 2 types of encounters. Passive like the one above, and Aggressive.))

((For a Passive encounter whether or not you attack the Pokemon is up to you. You can choose to fight it, avoid it, or if you think you're clever, try to capture the Pokemon without fighting it. This generally involves interacting with it, and trying to convince it to join you of it's own free will.))

((An Aggressive encounter is pretty straight forward. The Pokemon will attack you, and you have to fight it. If you really want to you can attempt to run, but running from a battle can fail, which will have some painful consequences for your character.))

((oh eh sorry about that then..))

Carrie meet the Numel's eyes for just a second and she thought for a moment of how she could use that pokemon as a medic. It wasnt a healing pokemon but it could come in handy to keep her healer safe from harm if she was ever engaged in a pitted battle that could mean the end for her and the ones she was with or the ones she was with. She thought for a moment more as it seemed it wasnt interested in attacking. She slowly approached the numel not wanting to scare it or aggitate it "hello little one, would you care to join me?" She knelt down in the sand her knees sinking into the loose ground slightly as she tried to be as calm and invinting to the Numel as possible.

Stopping mid-trudge, the Numel would turn his head to face the young girl. Tilting it slightly he would give her a curious look; then lazily as he had before, the Pokemon would turn back in the direction he'd been headed originally, returning to his trudging and head bobbing. The child had asked him to join her...without providing a single reason why he should. In the future Carrie would have to try significantly harder then that. Pokemon were like people, unlikely to follow someone blindly simply because they'd been asked nicely. It would take only a few moments, and then the Numel would disappear, leaving the ninja to the monotony of the surrounding sands.

Carrie sighed and stood leaving the Numel to its trudge as she walked thinking what she could offer. She was still a weak trainer but she could offer safety of sorts, training a good home and care for pokemon, but some how she didnt think she would need the numel right at this moment, she uncliped Deaths ball and thought a little before cliping it back. Her first pokemon encounter had been a bust but she would try again until she either finished what she was here to do or until she couldnt try anymore.

What Carrie would encounter next as she crested the next dune would be an odd sight. Rather then a single Pokemon, this time it seemed she was encountering three. Amidst one of the more deeply pitted valleys of the desert, a group of Drillbur stood huddled together, each one clasping a thick claw on the back of the other two. They seemed to be discussing something, but abruptly broke off from one another, giving a firm nod as they moved to depart.

Two of the Drillbur would take off to the sides of the dune, sharp claws digging into the sand as they reach reached one of the surrounding dunes. A moment later and they'd disappear. The third Drillbur would approach the very center on the pitted valley, claws scraping against the sand as he began building a small hole.

The sand of the surrounding dunes shifted slightly...

This time Carrie wasnt going to use the nice way. Now she was going to use force as she watched the two disappear. If she could beat or capture this Drillbur then she would be one step closer to attaining her goal. She uncliped the pokeball at her side and let out her Drifloon. The ghost floated in the heat and yawned as it looked at the pokemon before it before calling out a challange

Too late would Carrie realize the fault in her actions. The Drillbur had been huddled when she'd arrived...conversing...plotting. The moment the girl stepped into the valley the sand would give way beneath her feet, the sand all around her beginning to shift more rapidly as side forward. Two brown shapes would bob briefly to the surface; the Drillbur from before. They hadn't left...no, they'd simply gotten to work. Digging through the sand rapidly and in opposite directions the two were loosening the sand, making it nearly impossible to maintain ones footing. Meanwhile the Drillbur at the bottom had settled into his hole, beginning to rapidly spin in place once there.

The three Ground-Types working in tandem had created a funnel, a whirlpool in the sand. Carrie had fallen into a trap, and soon enough the girl would find herself rapidly sliding toward the slicing claws of the Drillbur at the bottom.

If she didn't think fast, she would be in for a world of trouble, as well as a substantial amount of pain!

Carrie gasped in shock at the obvious trap she had walked into, but the shock wasnt enough to stop her from thinking she looked to her floating Drifloon, was it strong enough to lift her up. She would have to risk it "Death use constrict on me, quickly now dont worry I can take the pain, just get me out of this trap" The ghost didnt think twice as he floated down and wraped his tenticales around his trainer. He lifted as best he could his strength wasnt that much but he would try and protect his trainer. "good Death, keep it up were almost out of this" Her feet began to lift out of the sand just as she felt a slight tug.

Almost out would prove to be a magnificent overstatement by the child. Rather then pulling her up, Carrie simply dragged the Driftloon down with her. It was like a carnival balloon tied to someone's wrist. To say the least her Pokemon's efforts would prove futile as Carrie slide down the funnel, and in the next would feel sharp claws savagely digging into her leg. Blood would splatter across the sands, but it seemed the Drillbur's efforts would were quite over yet. The trap had been sprung, Carrie had been injured for it, but it was not over as one of the two Drillbur sprung from the sands, passing her in an instant...
