turayza: They really are :/ It makes me really wonder about who these hackers are. Then I realize they probably play World of Warcraft all day long and I don't wonder anymore. I've become insanely addicted to it. It's a lot of fun, if you're not following Mylie Cyrus... I'm following James and Oliver Phelps, Tom Felton, Matthew Lewis (Neville), Jessie Cave, Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley), Afshan Azad (Padma Patil), and Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick). The twins recently finished a week of filming and they're starting another week of filming on monday.

La Vie en Blanc Minerva: I suppose so. That happened sometime last week when I wasn't online, so I didn't experience it. By the way, I adore your new avatar smile Oh, okay. Guess they fixed it. 3nodding I've never tried Twitter.
Thanks! I'm dressed this way because I'm in rich camp. wink

Hello everyone! Sorry for my absence, I've been working every day..next week I work 37 hours! I'm going to be dead by saturday and won't want to move.
On the plus side, I got rockband 2 today! For 99.99, pretty cheap with the drums, guitar and mike and game! I got it mainly because on Sep 9 the beatles is on guitar hero, the instruments for the beatles is way too expensive so I went with the other ones.
I'm so tired of asking..."how may I help you, do you need help, are you alright?" to customers all day long. At least I got to put books on shelves and put overstock books away today.
My new coworkers annoy me because they seem to think that I know everything! They ask for my help and I just want to tell them, do it on you own, you will learn how to do it!
At least my paycheck is going to be close to 1,000 dollars this friday with all the hours I've worked these past 3 weeks. 40% will go to fed, state and social security taxes. Cruel, cruel world..
Anyways, I'm going to get my books tomorrow! Yay for me! I'm going to spend over $300, the price for a higher education. I wish my books were being sold at my work, I could employee discount.
How are all of you doing today? Have you played Maple Story? I just started playing it.
Welcome to all the new Ravenclaws!

I know the science books are always very expensive! I didn't get to get my books, because my campus book store didn't have the books for 3 of my classes. I'm going to wait till saturday, if at worst, next week. I start on the 31st..you?

Stanitalene Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I won't let it happen again!!! Why? Because that's really embarassing!! Thank you for taking my suggestions in such a kind and decent manner. It always makes people (myself included sweatdrop ) a but uncomfortable when someone points out a 'mistake'. However, I wouldn't have pointed it out if I didn't care. If it makes a difference to you (or not), my Bachelor's degree is in Education: K-8th multi-subject/self contained classroom preparation. During the school year I'm a substitute teacher, and during the summer I teach Lego Robitcs and Computer Game Design Camp. What that boils down to, even in my personal time, is that I have difficulty communicating with people online who use internet shorthand, etc. My brain goes into so much overdrive trying to 'fix' their grammar that any actual conversation usually gets lost. Not that you were anywhere near that level. On the subject of going back to school:I miss going back to school. I have been a student for so long that I almost don't know what to do, not being one. Of course I still read, learn, and expand on my own, but I still appreciate the quantitative feedback you receive in a classroom setting. At one point I started to attend the county's night class to finish up my CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate, 2 semesters down in High School, need 3rd and 4th semesters to take the exam). I had to drop out of it due to the way the 'split' class was run (self study while the 1-2s got lecture, with no teacher to ask for help on the labs, then second half we get the lecture and go over the reading/study guides). Even my former teacher confessed that it was a 'horrible' way to run that, but the popularity of the program has decreased locally so it is only offered at that one school. I would love to take it with one of my old teachers. I also began to audit a class that I was forced to drop, one to prepare you for the RICA test. However, commuting to my old university about an hour and a half north, plus gas and bridge toll, ended up being more than I could financially afford sad I'm not sure if I'll try something as quirky this semester. I try to keep an eye out to see if my old IT high school teacher is offering anything useful. I've already been hired by so many (small) companies as a PC tech though, I'm not even sure if something such as an A+ certification would really do anything. I do not miss the textbook trap, however. The prices for the books are scandalous, and then they make a 'new edition' with a re-ordered table of contents and 'free cd' and your textbook is now worthless in sellback value -_-; Even if that is not the case, one would be LUCKY to get back half of what they originally put down. It's a legal scam, and it disgusts me crying

I guess I'm lucky, then, to go to a pretty good school which has all the textbooks in its library (: But then, I'm still in high school. I think the only books I had to purchase were two Spanish workbooks. It's really depressing how quickly the publishers are pumping out new editions now. At the beginning of summer we were told to get one version, and now that the newer one has come out, my teacher expects to buy that one? It's awful.

Toodles, Nanatsuiro! Have fun! (Vacation?)
Gah! The bump shop I work for is stressing me out D: The owner lost her internet connection (temporary, but for an unknown amount of time) so we're all scrambling around and trying to figure out what to do.

My Greatest Strength:
My greatest strength is my sense of people. Meaning, I can tell about a person just by looking at em. It really helps, so that way, I go to talk to them, I might be conversing with a nice person, instead of a girlygirl who, in the inside, just wants to be alone.

Welcome to Ravenclaw, x1193! (: We're having a bit of a dry spell, dunno where everyone disappeared to ): Anywhoo, that sounds very useful! I'm terrible at reading people. I mean, I can usually guess what people are thinking and feeling, but only in the moment. n.n

I think I know what's happened to alot of our regulars:
School.
Especially as Ravenclaws, they're probably all on top of that. I must confess that it feels very odd not to be returning to school, myself. "I graduated college two and a half years ago..." Doesn't feel like it. I still have dreams where I'm in a class and to my horror I'm not prepared.

Your lucky to not be returning to school Meatballhead. This may sound strange but I really don't like school. I mean there are some subjects that I love but they can't outweigh the ones I don't. Especially since I struggle with math a lot and as a result parts of science as well. I can't wait to be out of school.
Welcome, x1193. That's a nice strength to have because it is something I certainly don't have at all. I'm people clueless and usually can't read the mood. Anyway hope you have a blast here.
