((I know that. I'm describing their method of movement. Am I still assuming the vent is larger than it is?))

((The vents aren't made for people to squeeze through. It's a miracle they can get through even though they're skeletons. It's like those really cramped crawlspaces beneath a house.
And there are no "different directions" yet.))

((Oh. Well in that case take it as them just kinda scootching through, except Fyrin who's already unnaturally thin which is ESTABLISHED IN THE PROFILE and thus put his arms in front and is supporting his weight and crawling like some sort of lizard. You see, his arms... legs... opposite sides of vent. support... quick movement..., heck just presume they're going.))

((That they are. But uh, yeah, the unnatural thinness is why they're making progress. The vampire would've caught them on even ground, but he could hardly fit through the vent at all.))
Bullets began to riddle the vent at random.

Fyrin actually let his shield largely drop. Bullets were of little concern; at worst they'd ricochet off bone and do a little damage. Soon enough the vampires would be forced to come after them and be on level ground or just let them go.

The vent began to buckle slightly. The metal was fairly thin; it was probably going to collapse soon.

((In an effort to bring Jacob more fully in, I'll just end our car ride and say he's largely educated on magic, as far as Joe knows it. I've explained most of it in person anyways.))
Four or five hours later, the stopped outside of Chicago's O'Hare Airport. "And that's how we made enemies with Helmsborough, just about two hours before you called me." Joe stepped out of the car, straightening his shirt. "Now, we need to figure out a way to get through here without getting caught. It might be easier simply to infiltrate the plane..."

Tyrg doesn't hold this city, the Titan's Fists interjected. Samusenko's Men In Black are the ones who control this spot.

Joe nearly fell to his knees in joy. Are you serious? You are! Thank the gods or whoever else is out there! He nearly began to skip joyfully. He managed to keep a regular walk, however. I'd like to meet this Samusenko guy I keep hearing about. Is he nice?

From what I hear, that question depends on how much vodka he's had in the last few hours.

Vodka? Huh. With a name like that, I figured he would have been one with more traditional tastes. Rum, perhaps. Regardless, I like the sound of that. Joe stepped merrily to the ticket counter and asked for two tickets to Paris.

Joe tapped his fingers on the desk. "Uhh..." He pulled out his wallet. Not a lot in there, certainly not enough for tickets. "Take a check?" he asked. "Or...is there another way to pay?" He briefly touched the employee with a mana probe.

"A check will be fine," the slightly creeped-out (mundane) employee replied. Joe had given him a totally different idea from what he'd meant.

((H'ojeez.))
Joe smiled and wrote the check, covering the two tickets. "Thanks," he said, flicking the tickets and handing one to Jacob. "Let's get going."
