i agree that is a funny sig but my mom would probably kill if i used my flute for that emo emo so sad i have no fun emo emo emo emo cry cry cry cry

you know what i love about being first chair, its that you get more solos. Yeah its more work but its worth it especially if you have professionals listening to you.

I just got an open-hole Emerson flute, and a tuner...i swear the girl who sit's next to me is tone deaf! She can't determine if she's flat or sharp so she makes the whole flute section sound like it sucks! I want to smack her, good thing I'm first chair though! Gah. I know what you mean. Except I don't want to smack the girl next to me (who's nickname, ironically, is Smac! blaugh ) I want to beat the entire 3rd flute section behind me with any instrument I can get my hands on; tubas, base drums, bass clarinets, a basson... No! The gong!!! twisted That is exactly how they are at my school. The last chair (I don't even bother remembering her name) didn't even show up for auditions. She sits there during nineth period talking about all kinds of crap (the latest is whether or not she should have sex with her boyfriend), can't play half the notes she should be able to, and, from what I can tell, can barely read music. And then she has the nerve to say that she deserves a higher part. (All the seniors just laughed at her when she said that.) The rest of them aren't really that bad, personality wise, but they can't really play either. I really hate how the third flutes don't even try to act like they care. And my BD doesn't say anything. I don't understand why, but he just doesn't. So then they just blow band off even more. I know for a fact that none of them go to their lessons or take the music home to practice. stare Lol. But you know they're really getting outta hand when the saxes and French horns become involved.
I know seriously! Our band is Symphonic, so it's not the top one, which is Wind Symphony, and it's not the bottom, Concert Band, but we play peices that the top band plays and we're better then the bottom band, which is for Freshman. So, we're kinda in between! rolleyes It's still fun though! Plus, I'm only a sophmore, so I'm in the right band, until next year, where I'll be in Wind Symphony! blaugh

pearls_1029 i agree that is a funny sig but my mom would probably kill if i used my flute for that emo emo so sad i have no fun emo emo emo emo cry cry cry cry a lot of the flutes in our band have a good flute and a crappy flute. lightsaber battles break out all the time when we have our crappy flutes. we don't hit them but we make fun sound effects. xd

Yeah its more work but its worth it especially if you have professionals listening to you. personally, i hate being first chair or first flute. you can't decide to be stupid and play wrong notes and rhythms, only 2nd flutes can do that and get away with it. also we have to sit right in front of the director so we always get caught for doing other things such as talking... i hate my director. evil
