"Hey, I do what I do best. Besides, I was being perfectly honest." A few moments of silence, as the Serpents telepathic voice paused. "As for my descendant, he seems to be getting along quite nicely - a little too nicely - with the werewolf girl." Ophiuchus was seemingly unfazed by this particular display of power. Once he had a glimpse with which he could gauge the enemy, nothing surprised him too much afterwards. He left, th entire globe empty of his presence.

"Oh no no no, you've yet to be excused from class!" The pair roared in unison. The gem on Sun' Rai's forehead pulsated again and Ophiuchus appeared before him, bound in firey chains.
"Now, what to do with you. And what to do about that Silver Wing down there and his little friend that seems to think he can stop me."
The gem pulsated again, and ten Sun' Rai's appeared as what was evidently space and time warped around them.
"Deal with the hunters down there, I'll handle the Serpent."
They nodded, and flew to the ground, surrounding Kai's group.

A sword of fire formed in Sun' Rai's hand as he stood staring at Ophiuchus.

"guys were surrounded!" he said pulling his claymore and turning into his demonic form. "I think we ran out of time!" his free hand had a blue fire ball in it, that flickered with hints of white.

"dame it." Ike muttered, his claw dissolved of his arm. black fire began dancing around in front of him. both his eyes turned black, and his wings burst into black fire. "there's no retreating from this."

"we know that Ike" koy muttered a few words as a yellow shield appeared around her glowing bright in the barren waste. "kai you let us handle these guys."

"Ashen Firecane!"
The circle raised and waved their hands in elaborate patterns. The ash surrounding the trio quickly ignited and picked up and began to swirl around them.

((really what is a Sun' Rai))
kai waved his hand as a dark bubble surrounded him keeping the ash away from him. "what the hell am i going to do!?" kai asked himself looking around. he asked himself the question again, but this time he head a near inaudible whisper in his mind. "great now im hearing things."

koy's shield kept everything out trying to keep her eyes on the Sun' Rai. "this wasn't part of my orders." she sighed.

ike stood unfazed by the kick up of ash and flames. "now we fight" he said clamping his hands together, mkaeing the black flames engulf one of the Sun' Rai. "I hope this works"

PostPosted: Thu Oct 09, 2008 10:14 pm

((RECAP!!! Yeah baby, I'm back! Midterms. Fortunately for Colin, they actually coincided with a point where I wanted him gone from the story for a bit. Anyway:

Devin called in an old buddy named Takeo to help him "protect" the school by spying on everyone. Takeo is disguised as a student and has two puppets he controlls (had three, Dalia killed and skinned one). Devin revealed that he acquired a hundred teachers who, for some reason, had been condemned to death. Perfect employees for a children's school. But wait! None of the new teachers actually have free will, because Devin has used magic to rob them of it. He told Takeo that Team Wolf is going to bring about world peace. Given that he scareed his good buddy shitless with all this new information, it's pretty clear none of this was seen as happy happy joy joy. Setsuka suddenly realized that she is working for her former student--she is no longer a mover and shaker.

Several of the Big Five attacked Fountain. Yuki froze to death everything in the surrounding forest--except for any characters who were currently in it, cause they subconciously protected themselves with magic. That's why none of them have noticed the forest's dead. Yeah. Yuki is apparently the source of the snowstorm (that became a blizzard) round the school.

Dalia attacked Team Wolf, Team Odd, & Team **** You And Go Away, & their pals. (For an explanation of the teams, go here: http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=13794935 Also, tell me if anyone's missing from the list.) Bola Bola infected a few of her opponents with ebola (actually, he infected the air with his presence & anyone present is now infected--Colin'll fix that in my next post). Their enemies killed Dalia and Bola got mad & killed Colin Devin, because Colin wasn't there yet. Bola is now peacefully floating over Fountain's sand garden, benevolently infecting anyone who gets close.

Natch Devin's not really dead. His body is dead, and for some reason has been stored in a safety deposit box in hell. Devin's soul possesed one of his teachers. Who's body is now decaying. Am I the only one who this move reminds one of good ol' Ms. Lee?

Now Riser Demon-God of War and Civilization--or less redundantly, the Demon-God of Civilization--has shown up. Sun Rai', who had been the Exile but got killed again, and who is also Riser, also appeared. He told Ophi that he'd been planning for a reeeeaaaaaaaally long time to remake the earth by destroying everyone he disagrees with. Ophi says he approves of the general idea, but that the Risers are being too heavy handed. After all, Risers destroyed all of the Americas from the Amazon to at least Chicago (no one misses Chicago) and there were probably a couple people who might have agreed with Risers among the dead. Risers wants Ophi to help him. Ophi says no, it's the Serpent's job to maintain the balence of nature, which is why he's going to run away. Ophi goes bye-bye. Sun Rai' Riser makes ten copies of himself to kill Team Odd. Then Risers pull Ophi back and now has him in firey chains. It's all very romantic.

Speaking of romance, Luna & Iola are still making out. Luna's moving too fast for nerd-dragon, and he started jabbering about how much she reminded him of a girl he was best friends with. Luna got uneasy and started thinking either he still liked his old girlfriend or he only thought of Luna as a friend. He blurted that the other girl was a lesbian and Luna was relieved. Only now Luna is starting to think she's a lesbian. Ialo also said he loved Luna, but he wasn't sure if he loved-loved her. So Colin might have a chance! Yay!

Also, Fire-Giant Riser-God melted all the snow that had accumulated. The demon of Team Odd had already killed the snowclouds. Yay sunshine!

*gasps for air*))

Colin was settled comfortably in a chair atop a heap of rubble near the outskirts of a now smoldering wreck of a town. The night sky was no longer illuminated by its lights--the fires were burning low and served as a poor replacement. He nibbled thoughtfully at a sandwich he'd stolen from the hand of a corpse. I had been planning to meditate to reorganize my brain, but killing all those townspeople seemed to do the trick! Who would have thought murder was the deepest form of relaxation? Still, it's a bit of a shame I killed everyone. Rather wasteful. Good thing I'm in full control again, or my Horned One half would have destroyed civilization and that's a terrible way to appear benevolent. I want to rule the world, after all, not blow it up. He felt a wheedling at the back of his mind. No, he reaffirmed, not even 'just the humans.' I want to rule those humans, I'm not going to settle for the lower lifeforms, you ancient bigoted twit. We agreed: we'll keep both our powers and both our sets of memories, but only I get to keep the personality. What, you don't remember that? That's funny, because IT JUST HAPPENED.

His internal dialogue was interupted by a loud declaration of
---I AM YOUR GOD!!!---

He looked around, startled. It had come from the forest. As he focussed on what lay behind him (namely, that forest), he realized that a large part of it was burning. The trees and animals of the Amazon somehow noticed they had his attention and began to cry out for his help.
We should help them.
"I don't have time."
We should help them!
"Do you feel that power level? It's like a smack in the face! I need allies. In fact, it's time for me to start gathering them. I should have done so sooner."
It's our job!

{You want help?} he thrombed. /Yes! Yes! Save us!/ {You should have thought of that before you permitted the Serpent to build one of his accursed temples here.} The forest's voices fell silent. The Horned One had never been known for his forgiveness, but surely this destruction--

{I told the Intruder I would permit his temple to stand for now. You have chosen him. Let the 'Benevolent Lord of Nature' help you. And if he doesn't? Then your deaths will be an example to the other wild places he wishes to tame. Not an example of my cruelty, no, but an example of precisely why I did not want him in them. He has no loyalty to his creatures. He was always know as the 'Father of Lies'--benevolent and heartless. Hope I have misjudged him.} Colin turned from the forest, finally no longer merely in control, but of one mind. "Jabezrien!"

The boy jumped up immediately and ran to his friend's side. Jabezrien was now wearing human clothes. They were roughly his size, but he was still thinner and pointier than a human child his height, and he had to hold them up. He looked up expectantly, Ophi's silencing spell still in effect.

"Can you read?"

Jabezrien cocked his head to the side. Read? What's that?

"I've often seen you writing in that notebook you ate. Are you sure you don't know what I'm talking about?"

Jabezrien winced at the mention of the notpad. His tummy still hurt. But he was still puzzled. Oh, sure I wrote--but what's that got to do with this "reading" business? Writing's not for "reading," it's for scribbling.

Colin grinned fiercely. "Good!--I mean, too bad, that would have made things so much easier. On you. C'mere," he ended abruptly, grabbing the boy's arm.

Nuuu! You're scary now! Jabezrien flailed wildly as Colin took out one of his photos and teleported them to Bai Ching.

As Ophi also left, the forest and its creatures wept in despair.

((Ok, Colin'll show up at Fountain in my next post. Btw, the above is what Colin was doing waaaaaay back when Riser first attained godhood.))
PostPosted: Fri Oct 10, 2008 1:32 am

((Ok, Coiln's back in the semi-present now!))
Colin climbed up out of the earth. I know it's slower than teleporting, but I don't want to pop up in the middle of a battle. I'm going to scout a little first. He was once again in his trademark black robes. He looked around; he was in the forest outside Fountain. Something seemed... off. He loudly thrombed his presence. The subsonic sound reverberated throughout the entirety of Fountain's grounds, causing people's bones to hum. There was no reply. He closed his eyes and reached out, sensing the forest's needs... his eyes snapped open. "It's dead. Everything here is dead! Practically everything. It froze? That's... unlikely." There's no snow. It's quite hot, in fact. Unpleasently warm. Well, no matter. I'll find out later who wounded you, my darlings.

And then he thrombed again. The thromb rose higher and higher, becoming a song. An ancient song swept through the dead forest, a nigh physical presence that knocked the wind out of the people ((Yuki, Shuusuke, Luna, & Ialo--anyone else?)) within the forest's confines. The very air seemed to quiver. Suddenly the trees burst into life once more, sprouting leaves and gaining several feet in height, the animals jumped up no longer lifeless, the insects buzzed into life again, and the black marks Riser had left on Ialo and Luna evaporated like a noxious mist. Weeds vines sprouted and grew wildly. The forest erupted into a joyful cacophony and, despite the noise, Ialo and Luna felt more refreshed and alert than they could ever remember. As the usually scant grass grew thick and long, it began carrying tales from its schoolyard cousins, whispering to Colin what had just taken place. The forest, now remembering who had killed it, grew menacing near Yuki.

"I see," he said. After reflecting a moment, he decided. {I shall deal with this assassin, children, but this other matter is currently more pressing. If you are impatient, you may take care of her yourselves in the meantime.} The trees nearest Yuki eagerly uprooted themselves and clomped towards her like animate clubs, swaying their limbs aggressively as the entire forest flailed. "Seachain an sin!"

---((Aaaand now up to the last post of yourns.))

Colin flew into the current battle. Around his brown eyes glowed a thin ring of light green. "YOU!" he thundered in a voice that was unnaturally deep but undeniably his, pointing at the Risers. "You call yourself our Chronos? Have you ever heard a single myth in which a Chronosesque figure appears? He's horribly killed by the newer gods! Every version of the story! You're just like cliche story villains based on the Nazis. You're emulating the losing side! Why the hell would you want to start off with such a negative self image? What's wrong with you?!

"And YOU!" he continued, pointing at Ophichius. "Captain Useless. I can't believe your response to all this is 'yes, I love genocide just as much as the next guy, but you're not showing enough skill, you have no subtlety'?! Am I the only one here who actually thinks preemptively killing everyone who disagrees with me is wrong? Am I the only one who thinks denying one's subjects free will is unspeakable? That the means and the ends must justify themselves, never one the other? AM I?" he bellowed, glaring at all present. "Do any of you realize how CREEPY it is that I'M giving lectures on ethics and MORALITY?!"

Colin calmed and floated to the ground, the grass sprouting taller around his feet. He clasped his hands as if in prayer. "'Powers That Be,' whatever it is that assigned us these jobs, I wish to present to you that these two numbskulls"--he again pointed at Ophi and giant Riser--"are severely screwing up. If I had all three of our jobs, I would be forced to look to balence them with each other in such a way that I would actually be caring for the world, not blowing up half of it because it pissed me off, nor letting it be blown up because of being a lazy a**. Because of these reasons, (and, I won't lie to you: because I'm a powerhungry meglomaniac) I humbly ask that you consider me as their replacement. Consider this my job interview." He immediately looked at the replica Sun' Rais. Bamboo shot out of the ground and pierced them, the tips emerging from the openings of their faces. The woody grass ceased its growth and swayed peacefully, the replicas' blood dripping down their stalks. "Your blood shall feed my children," Colin declared viciously, then turned his attention to the Risers. He began to walk toward giant Riser and the real Sun' Rai.

((I'm going with he startled you, & that's why he was able to get out such a huge speech before initiating an attack. & I know I said he'd do something about Bola's virus in this post, but that would be pushing it. There's no way he could get in more without my letting someone respond to his tirade without my being horribly rude. After all, I'm not playing catch-up, he's doing this stuff in real time.))

((Somebody a few pages back said the storyline had morphed from the original plot. I must confess I don't see it.

1-five items known as 'godkillers' are lusted after by peopleswidpower. These items have the potential to grant them even more power. But the items are hidden in the Goddess Realm.

2-Ms Lee specifically wanted the Fountain. After getting to it, but being trapped in the Goddess Ream, she found a way to posess her granddaughter Setsuka and return to the fountain, only now free to gain her power and leave again. Only Kurt sacrificed himself to trap them both once again. She's now frozen & can't even get to the fountain, let alone get out again.

3-It turns out Setsuka, no doubt while under her grandmother's influence, gained resources from the mysterious 'Big Five,' who also wanted the Fountain. On deciding they weren't getting access quick enough, they set out to punish Setsuka and anyone in their way. Colin was able to gain the powers of one of the slain/sealed gods. Ophichius, the Serpent Lord, awoke from a self-induce hibernation (I'm seeing him as a 'benevolent nature god,' as opposed to the ancient Horned One as a distinctly malevolent one). Riser, or Sun' Rai, also an ancient god, begins to make his final play.

4-It turns out there was an entire race of godkillers, in addition to the five items. This race was called Silverwings, and they are a third human, a third angel, and a third demon. It was historically their job and within their abilities to defend the world from various threats, including corrupt gods. One of these defenders, one named Kai, has shown up at Fountain. Sure, he doesn't understand exactly how to be a Silverwing, but his story fits into the main one.

Every character also has their own shifting agendas, of course, and that makes this story a thrilling tapestry--but the story remains mainly coherent.))

"You think you can kill me do you? This gem of mine holds more power than you could ever comprehend, the souls of the billion or so I've wiped from this earth so far corrupt its luster. Armada!" He snapped his fingers.

The man who had apparently ended Sun' Rai's life earlier appeared at his side in a flash of blue. "Yes my lord?"

"Dispose of these nuisances."

"At once my lord."
He was far more misshapen than he was at the time of his last appearance. The onyx-like material had apparently taken full grasp of him. Black spikes jutted off several feet from his back in multiple directions, while two horns jutted from the skull above the ear and ended in two vicious points several inches away from his face. Both eyes were now glassy and white, and every visible patch of skin had been covered by the cracked black material. His arms were larger at the forearm and sported similar spikes to the back. His katana had not gone unchanged either; its hilt now bore four large fang-like protrustions jutting towards the blade, while the blade itself was made of the onyx material. The handle had an odd bend in it.

((your good Desert 3nodding ))
Ike summoned a pillar of fire on one of them and caught another in a fiery whirl wind. "these guys are though." he said as he continued his assault on the sun'rai.

koy had been defending all three of them with shields and spells to repel the fire. "Ike we need to gain some ground. she dodged an attack from one of the sun 'rai. "cause this could go one forever" her voice was in a panic.

kai ducked an oncoming blow slashing one of the sun'rai in half. the weight of his claymore slowed him down greatly, but he could still move well considering the circumstances.

((WTF am I supposed to do with Ialo now?! lol, I honestly have NO idea.))

Ophi's rage over being captured quickly evaporated when Colin appeared. "G-Genocide?!" he stuttered in Latin. "" Where the chains were burning his skin, his flesh was just as quickly reviving. "Is est totus suus mendum!" the Serpent shouted, glaring at Sun'Rai. His eyes were flashing many different death wishes towards the god.

((Why is Team Odd attacking the Sun' Rai replicas? Colin's bamboo just, well... tentacle-raped the replicas. Boom didn't do anything to help them, so the replicas are at the very least immobolized, if not thouroughly dead.))

"You've killed over a billion? Nice. You rely on the defeated for victory? Adorable. Ninety percent of success is self-belief. And Civilization always bows, in the end, to Nature, you overcompensating twit."

Armada appeared, and Colin touched the Puppet Sticks.

Armada suddenly felt his counsciousness shoved to the back of his physical body. It was like he was now trapped inside a hollow marionette, watching someone else control him. What? What's going on? Who's doing this? My lord knows he doesn't have to, I'll willingly do anything he orders.... He felt his body answer Sun' Rai, agreeing to destroy those fools who would stand against his lord. Well, I don't know why I feel this way, but at leastKILLSUN'RAIWHAT? No! This is wrongKILLSUN'RAII said no! What..? Despite his best efforts, he could not comminicate with his body. He knew what it was doing, he knew what it was doing was wrong and quite impossible, but it didn't care. It drew his sword and attacked his lord, Sun' Rai.

Colin resumed his thombing song from the forest. This time, it sounded a little different.

((Boom=Colin's item will wear off in five minutes gametime. He can't use it on the same person more than once a day.
Neon=Ialo & Luna are basically the same as before, except they're no longer brainwashed & have had a mental bucket of cold water thrown on them. They'd probably notice something was up with the forest before anything else....
Ghostest=Ella probably hid blind Cecilia somewhere safely inside the school before the others fought the Five. Not sure what Ella would do after that, no idea what Miya would do, but from what I understand, Ophi did indeed teleport Cecilia & Ella back to Fountain--or did he drop you in Australia? I'm so confused... If you're in Australia, though, I do have someone you could interact with, so just say the word & I'll flesh out Stilsis' personality.))
