I feel very welcomed! Thank you, everyone ^_^

Minerva, I'll check out your fanfiction when I have time! I've had to do a bunch of cleaning lately, unfortunately... but as soon as I'm done, I'm free! If the contest is still running then, and a plot bunny bites, I may put my two cents in :]

As for the religion discussion... I read a few posts and my head is spinning @_@ Maybe it's not very Ravenclaw of me... but as for my beliefs, I rely on about 99% faith as opposed to reason. Might be one of the only aspects of my life where faith trumps reason, in fact sweatdrop But yeah, that's me...

Actually, now that I think of it... I believe things within reason. So maybe my beliefs are more 90% faith, 10% reason :]

I hope you feel better soon, Kitsune! Especially before school starts. Whatever you have doesn't sound like fun sad

Well, it is great to have you here!

Well, faith might be reason within itself. As long as you don't take it too far, and believe the world is flat because the priests believed it a few centuries ago. eek

Just kidding.

If it makes you feel better, my head starts spinning sometimes out of my own thoughs. Suddenly I'm on a very logical road... Then ends up on theories, and waaaay out there. Which you can probably see in my posts.

Believe me, it isn't. I don't know what I have either. biggrin Out of all the gazillion times I've been sick, I think I've known about three - four times what was wrong with me. x3

Once, I was sick for six months, and the doctors couldn't find out what was wrong with me.. They had meeting about me and everything. I was coughing for almost six months, and no medicine would get rid of it. D: Wasn't fun.

And now I feel I'll suddenly start ranting again, so I'll just push the submit button now..

Love how you've made your posts by the way!

Thanks!

Oh, no, believe me. I don't think I take it too far... but I mean, I don't try to force my beliefs on others (because that is one of my biggest pet peeves), and although some of them may be contradictory, I dunno... I just believe :] That's where the faith part comes in XD

Sounds like what happens to me sometimes! When I'm not noticing/thinking about all the random little things in my life, hahaha. Like why are humans so comfortable in drastically cooler temperatures than our internal temperature? Our internal temperature is 98.5 degrees Fahrenheit on average (about 37 degrees Celsius), yet we feel comfortable in the 60-70 degree (15-21 degree) temperatures... maybe that's just a dumb question, but it makes me wonder.

Wow, that sounds strangely similar to what happened to me... I was coughing to the point where I couldn't breathe (I don't think it was for six months though), but I don't think the doctors knew what was wrong, either. So my mom finally gave up and took me to a chiropractor, who cracked my back (yes, it was rather painful, but only for a few seconds, thank goodness) and suddenly I was all better o_O Don't ask me how that worked... but yeah. Still hope you feel better soon sad

And thank you ^_^ I stole everything from the guild, hahaha! But I loved the icons/saying so much that I had to steal it...

By the way, thanks a bunch. You just made me lose the game too crying

It is annoying when people try to force their believes onto you. I just have a likening to question those believes, and why they believe them. I guess I've met too many people who hasn't really though of why they believe what they do, and just follow what they're thaught...

That is a good question! biggrin And yes, it is 37 degree celsius. That's one of the reasons why I'm a bit glad I was born up here.. It rarely passes 25 degrees in the summer.. Course, this year has been exeptionally hot! But now, winter is coming.. and then it's coooold. Down to -16. Not often it's that low though, since the city I live in is right next to the ocean. I'll ask my stephfather that question. He knows really weird stuff, so he might know.

I got four times with akupuncture. There was this one thing he did at the end, when all the needles were gone.. He put these little cups on my back, and then I laid there for a while.. And when he took'em off, he dragged them down my back.. It felt really good.

I feel much better today than I did yesterday. Must be the magic of the AkuRoku Day! (13th of August (8/13)) Imma go and buy something not-so-good-for-you food, like cookies... and eat it. After taking like 30 insulin-thingies... I've usually used over 20 but under 30, but I can see now that it's too little.

Well.. They are there for us to use'em. So abuse'em as much as you want to! biggrin

My making-people-loose-The-Game skills are superior.

Aww I'm sorry you've been sick, Kitsune sad . Hope you feel better. You don't want to be sick on your first day of school, now do you?

And um...I haven't been trying to force my beliefs on you, have I? In our little...ah-hem..."discussions". More like fights on my part...

Darkness, I love your posts! Very pretty...

And I'm with you on the religion part. Most of my religion is based on faith, not facts. But it insults me when people ask me why I should believe that, because in my mind, it's right. I'm kind of cocky in that way, I guess. But...yeah...sorry guys, just a random little thing I thought I'd throw in.

Hi everyone! Wow, a discussion about faith. That's tough...I might be a little off because I haven't read all the posts, but bear with me. (:
I think a reallyreally important thing we have to remember when discussing concepts based on faith (and not evidence) with anyone is that because everyone's beliefs are not based on outside perceptions, you won't find anyone who perfectly agrees with you. And that's okay, because your truth is different from his or her truth. And once everyone realizes that, we're all happy! Yay!
Onoz. I was just thinking about what I said and I realized that it's not necessary for people to believe that they have to respect the beliefs of others. By saying that it's important to remember that, I was pushing my thoughts onto you! Gah headache.

*Edit: Kitsune: I lost the game. D:

Why does it seem like almost everytime I come in here lately we are talking about God or Faith ?

Honestly ? Who started this conversation ?

So for those of you who saw the 6th movie what did you think about it ?

Hello again. I noticed that have set your goal of moving up to Second Year rather quickly. It is terrific to set goals for yourself, but make sure you are actually following all the requirements.

If I do recall, somewhere in the fine print it states that one-line posts don't count towards your post numbers. Around this guild, quality of posts definately superscedes quantity. So, if you hit the number on the dot, yet most of your posts consist of one-liners, they may delay your moving up in years.

Further, it is possible to lose house points for grammar and spelling mistakes. It would help if you rememberd to capitalize your "I"s in conjuctions (I'd, I'll) and perhaps run a spell check over your post. I highlighted in red grammatical/spelling errors in your post, most of which are a super quick fix.

Literacy is extremely valued around here, and as Ravenclaws, we are proverbially leading the parade and holding the banner.

Stanitalene
1st Year Question-
Where are your greatest strengths?
I think my greatest strengths would have to be my ability to maintain calm under pressure, being able to make due with what I have, and my intelligenece.

Current Question: "What makes you happy in your life and why?"

My friend(s) and family make me happy in life. I don't know what i'd do without them, really. They always push my to do better choice wise, school wise, (and) life wise. It always seemed to help in the end. Music makes me extremely happy. To be able to feel better through an art form is truly magical. One day I hope to persue a singing career. If not I'll just be a lawyer. I also draw anime, but i'm an ametur. But a good ametur!!! My cats also make me happy(,) too. They always comfort me when i'm sad. Last thing: I like takin gphotos on my camera phone. I like the idea of catching a nice moment i time. 3nodding

Thank you my fellow Ravenclaws for welcoming me. I really appreciate it!!!! 3nodding My goal for this week is to try and get moved up to Second Year by the end of this week, so i'll be posting a lot!

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I won't let it happen again!!! Why? Because that's really embarassing!!

Nanatsuiro: Ah...I don't know. This is the first time I've popped into a religion-related discussion. We had a lonnggggg in-white-text 6th-movie-chat a while back...I think the week after it came out?

Blanc: Isn't Kitsune's signature totally evil? D: Brilliant, though. Very Ravenclaw. ;D

Stanitalene: That's okay, just make sure to read over stuff/be careful. 3nodding

Omg. I think I'm developing Carpal Tunnel.

turayza: It really is (:
Oh dear. Carpal Tunnel is no fun :c

Stanitalene: It's alright, we all make mistakes. It's good to read over things first though.

Completely unrelated to anything that's being discussed right now, how many people have discovered the joys of some of the Harry Potter stars on twitter? I certainly have. I just thought I'd share that. It's a silly thing to share, but it certainly made my day when it happened.

Stanitalene, I'm glad that you weren't offended by meatball's corrections and will try harder in the future. Your mistakes weren't too dreadful, so don't beat yourself up. 4laugh

Darkness, I hope that you like my fic if you ever get the chance to read it. smile I agree with Kitsune; your posts are pretty!

Turayza, I concur that any non-violent faith is okay as long as it makes people happy. whee Atheism, on the other hand, I find extremely depressing. One of my best friends is atheist, and I don't understand how she can believe in nothing and live a happy life.

Blanc, I thought the Twitter site brought down by hackers. DId they fix it?
PostPosted: Sat Aug 15, 2009 3:06 pm

Minerva: I suppose so. That happened sometime last week when I wasn't online, so I didn't experience it.
By the way, I adore your new avatar smile

Hackers are getting really good D: I wish I had mad skills like them. Wouldn't be so silly as to sit around wasting them, though... hem.

Twitter drives me nutters. Maybe that's because I've only seen stupid feeds, like Hannah Montana's. (Omgvomit.) Which HP stars are you following, Blanc?
