Layna didn't move as little hands touched her fur. "Mama...Mama..." A little voice whined. Gabriel whimpered, clinging to Razu's arms. He wasn't sure what was going on, nor did he know how to react.
Layna felt glad for the emptiness of her mind. She was pained by everything that was happening, confused, hurt. Her heart didn't know where to turn for comfort, so it turned inward, to solitude.

Ceon took one of Layna's hands ad put it to his heart, letting her feel the thud of his heartbeat. "Layna, I'm here. I'm alive, and I'm back. I'm back to be part of our family."

Layna felt so lost, somewhere between what was real in her mind and what was truly flesh and blood. She was struck senseless by memories she had not allowed in for over a year, and they left her blind and deaf in the sense she was unable to react to them. She found it impossible to escape her mind as it push back the mentality she needed to function humanely.
Her eyes opened slowly, grey, listless, and staring. She was still out of it. Her mind refused to believe what was in front of her. That Ceon was indeed alive and was here. Her eyelids drooped, but did not close despite the feeling of sleep that sat upon her.
"Mama? Mama?" Gabriel whine, watching as his mother slowly shifted back to her human form, her mind too awkwardly placed to react to the fact that she was naked. The cold didn't seem to touch her senses, locked behind a cage of a crying beast.

Cein held Layna tight against him, keeping her warm. He leaned in so his lips were right next to Layna and whispered in a gentle tone. "Layna, this isn't a dream. I'm alive. And we're going to be a happy family again. Just you, me, and Gabriel."

Layna could hear a voice...it sounded so like a whisper to her ears, distant. Her lips strained to ask wherer she was, but they dared not move. She felt utterly safe in this silent place, with only her mind to speak words to her. She was deceptively calm, despite the anger that had coursed like fire through her not long ago.
"...You,me and Gabriel..." She heard it beneath her mind, but it cried out to stop the pain, inching backwards into the shadows away from the false things she heard. Her eyes saw a face, but did not register the dirty, scarred exterior. It was a trick of her eyes...
Her grey eyes shifted to look at Razu, and her son. Razu... He had been so comforting to her, and that rang a bell in her silent mind. He had been there, for her, for Gabriel, despite everything she had done.
Oh, she was so confused.

Ceon turned her face back to him as he wiped some of the dirt from his head and hair, "Layna, look at me. I am your mate. I am Ceon. I promised I'd never leave you. I gave you Gabriel....I gave you the love that you needed."

The woman blinked dully, and felt warm tears drip down her cheeks. What? Ceon... Who was....Her mate? He was dead... She had watched him die in her arms. How could....
"...Ceon..." She croaked, her voice not completely there, more an animal-like garble than her human voice would have been. Her mind was interlocked between a crazed, angry wolf, and a crying woman who was horribly confused.

A spark of hope shined in his eyes as Layna mumbled his name. He held her bare body more tightly as he looked into he eyes, giving her a familiar smile, the same smile he gave her when she agreed to be his mate. "Yes, Layna. It's me. I'm here. I'm back. For you, and our son, and the happiness we had together as a family."

Layna whimpered, a scared look coming to her eyes. She wriggled in Ceon's grasp, curling onto her side, her body shaking. She felt so cold, exposed in more ways than the obvious. Her eyes stared at the ground, trying to curl back into the dark, allow the comforting presence of her wolven side to protect her. A dream... She squeezed her eyes shut, grimacing as a flash of unwanted anger snapped through her.

Ceon allowed himself to change to his lycan form as he held Layna, surrounding her in his warm fur. He whined slightly as he looked into her eyes and licked her gently, hoping she would remember him.

Layna felt suddenly warm and safe within. She blinked, confusion dawning clearly upon her face, fighting against the flood of emotions that broke free. "Ceon?" She whispered, her voice clearing, though her throat stung from her screaming. "...What?" Her grey eyes registered everything around her now, and she wrapped her arms around herself tightly, her face red, her eyes wet.

Ceon licked Layna's face again and nuzzled his head against hers. He held her as close to him as he could. He wanted her to feel safe...he wanted her to remember how he would do this when she was scared or hurt.
