Layna growled lowly as she jumped down from the branch. "Good evening to you, too." She muttered icily as she crossed her arms. Her eyes were not cold. She did not hate this person at all, but she questioned why she suddenly appeared again. "You haven't changed much... How long...almost two years I believe." She said, a slight smile coming to her lips. "Diego seems well. He didn't hurt my son... He has changed."

"He hasn't changed, he's just dissappeared." She looked at the ground, hurt. "How is your son anyways?" She sighed.

"Almost two." Layna said with a brief smile. "I saw Diego a few days ago, Astarte. He looked alright." She said, confused by what she meant by disappeared. She had always found Astarte a little loopy.

Jasie didn’t say anything as Layna put distance between her and Zarathose. Jasie merely figured since they were once lovers, she was entitled to run or do whatever she so had to do. Yet Jasie felt for her, and it had her wondering what exactly Zarathose did that made her have to put distance between the two. But before Jasie had the chance to do anything a familiar, yet distant stranger came into the picture and Jasie noticed the tension in the air between ‘her’ and Layna at first.
Astarte… Jasie met her once, her and her lover Diego too-- It seemed forever ago when they last met, but it wasn’t. Jasie heard their conversation, yet her mind was elsewhere in thought.

Jack stared at Astarte and the woman she had the conversation with. He had to admit... it would feel awkward to talk to her after all this time. Still, it made him feel worse for not at least attempting to make a conversation with her. He sighed quietly as he shook his head.
"I'm gonna get hurt or embarrassed because of this."
He took his steps rather slowly at first. He approached the two of them with apprehension but determination. As he looked at Astarte... he couldn't help but feel that he saw something different in her this time. He wasn't sure what... but there was something.

Layna froze and turned her gaze upon the shouting man. "Zarathos..." She whispered, her heart throbbing painfully. She put a hand to her chest, and stepped back slightly. The pain in her chest was unbearable. Even the sight of the person who had stole her heart so long ago was excruciating. She pulled herself backward into the shadows as tears fell down her cheeks. She jumped up into the tree, pressing herself into the dark branches.

Jasie felt torn between the two, yet she knew her best chance was to stay out of it. So she stepped away and began to leave-- heading for whichever way the shadows and her feet would lead or take her.

Layna buried her face into her knees, shaking. Anger, frustration, sadness, pain. All these emotions swirled like mayhem within her. Had her actions two years ago ruined her life? No, she couldn't think that. She had a son who she loved dearly, and new friends who cared for her. She couldn't give that up. "Zarathos...please..." She stopped for a moment, her neck irksome. "Come here..."

Zarathose walked slowly over to the tree and then branch by branch pulled himself up"I'm sorry if I hurt you...But I had to leave...Some day you will understand why.But for now all I can do is say I am so sorry,"

Layna raised her head to look at Zarathos. "Would...you..." She stopped. That was something she could not ask. She placed a hand to her neck, where near invisible crescent marred her skin. In some corner of her mind, she missed the strange feeling.

Zarathose wrapped his arms around Layna and hugged her"I will always be sorry for leaving. And I still hold true to my word even though I am not what i once was....I will always be here for you."That's not what he wanted to say,he wanted to tell her that he still loved her and he always will...But she would only push him away he thought

Layna pressed her forehead against his shoulder. "Zarathos...Bite me..." She whispered softly, almost inaudible even to her ears. Her eyes were wide, she had asked something involuntarily, and yet she had wondered, tried to remember, what a bite felt like.
