Veroen closed his eyes, his headache getting worse by the minute, then clenching his teeth, he breathed for a moment, falling onto one knee, still clutching his right side oif his head. He replied to Razu.
"I am fine, it is not me that needs to be worried about...." he replied with some difficulty. He knew who he was talking to, it was just that fact that Razu's face, along with Laynas, were flashing back and forth between people of his memories.
He turned toward Layna. "You need not say more, I was able to hear some of the conversation between..you and Daiguren.." he said pausing a little between words to gather his thoughts for a moment. Then his gaze landed on Gabriel. He had only been this close to the child since the night Ceon had been murdered. The child looked at him curiously. Veroen smiled at the child. It had been many centuries since he had been close to one actually, being the fact that Vampires cannot bear children. He hung his head a little, and closed his eyes in shame.
"I am sorry I could not prevent it from happening Layna..." he said, shameful of the fact that he kept slipping in and out of reality, when she was being attacked by the Tainted.

Layna shook her head quickly. "It was...inevitable... He hates my son and I...for taking away his sight...He thinks that it has something to do with Gabriel..." She smiled sadly at her curious son. He was bold for one so small, and it made her heart swell.
Gabriel giggled and made a show of mimicking claws. "Rawr!" He exclaimed, bearing his teeth. He liked acting tough, even though he was still so tiny. He wanted to protect his mother always, and keep her happy. He tugged on Veroen's pant leg, and mimicked the noise again, as if to see if he would roar like his mother had. He didn't know the difference between species yet.

Razu laughed at Gabriel's fearlessness. He wondered to himself,When was the last time he had truely laughed? Surely it was before he had to kill Lucife. Maybe even before he felt the small twinges of jealousy when he found out Layna had been taken from him by Ceon. Of course he would never admit to last one. As he had said long ago when he had talked to Layna. He was staying here in New York for a certain Lycan girl. One that layed next to him at this moment watching her son face a vampire rawring away.

Angel-of-Bloody-Midnight Layna shook her head quickly. "It was...inevitable... He hates my son and I...for taking away his sight...He thinks that it has something to do with Gabriel..." She smiled sadly at her curious son. He was bold for one so small, and it made her heart swell.

Veroen chuckled at the child's display of one day being a great Lycan. He chuckled again at the thought of it. He was supposed to be an enemy of Lycans, though now here he sat, in slight weakness, socializing with other Lycans, he now considered as friends....He felt somewhat bad for his reason for existence: To kill Jaden with his own two hands. and now, for the first time since he had become a Vampire almost 6 centuries ago, he had second thoughts about his self made purpose in life.
He sighed, and looked at Gabriel, with a smirk, then with his free hand, mimicked the boys display of Lycan ferocity. He bared his teeth as well, though not really too much in a frightening way, trying as well as he could not to expose his fangs to the child. "Rawwrr." Veroen said, putting some effort behind it to try to sound like a Lycan for the Gabriel's entertainment. He did this, even though he knew it was probably the worst attempt at mimicking a Lycan the others ever saw. He then chuckled to himself, still clutching his head in pain. He then looked at Layna, now wondering what was to become of the situation.
"I seem to recall that you somewhat showed hesitation in answering my request to help you kill Daiguren, Layna." he slowly said, now closing his eyes in an effort to stop the throbbing pain in his mind.

Layna blinked, the smile fading, a darkness coming to her eyes. "There are good reasons for that..." She whispered, her face cold. She had her reasons for not wanting lose others that she had befriended. Was that her curse as well? For the people she cared for to die? She sighed softly, covering her eyes with an arm, grasping at her faltering mentality. She didn't want that hating side, that horrid beast of a side to get the better of her. She liked being nice, she liked caring, she liked helping. But she couldn't stand the fact that she had not managed to keep that Demon off her. Was she that weak?
Gabriel's eyes widened, but not in a fearful way. He pulled on his lip, poking at his own teeth. Why did the person have sharp teeth? Gabriel wanted sharp teeth too. At the attempt of Lycan behavior, the child squealed and fell over, laughing ecstatically.

Razu breathed out as his gaze drifted from Gabriel to Layna. No matter how hard he tried something came up to make Razu's feelings for Layna apparent and close to the surface. Apparently this was the max of his restraint on his heart. He had subtly put in his feelings for her just then and he couldn't take them back.
Would Layna hate him for telling her so soon after she lost her mate? Would my life have been different if I told her that I told her my feelings before Ceon had?
Razu shook his hung his head depressed. He was acting like some lovestruck puppy in a Shojo Manga. He really needed to stop reading those things.

Layna looked up at the silent Lycan who sat beside her. She would have sat up, but was too comfortable right now. "What's wrong, Razu...?" She murmured, confused by how distraught he seemed. What was wrong with him so suddenly? She focused her grey eyes upon his face, a questioning look in them.

Razu jumped at Layna's voice. A blush devloped over Razu's dark features,"Um...I decided I need to stop reading Shojo Manga..." He mutters to where it was also hard to hear,"I love and it makes me like Lovesick puppy."

Layna blinked, before she sat up, pressing back a groan. "What?" She asked. She had barely caught the last part of what he said, but she had heard it. "Razu? I didn't know you liked somebody. May I ask who it is?" She asked, curious if she knew the person.

Razu's heart slammed in his chest and his face blush deepened to beat red,"um....You know her very well....um...she has this adorable little Lycan pup. But...the downfall is...she just lost her mate..." He peeked at Layna from the corner of his eye. He didn't want to be turned down but she asked and he wouldn't lie to her.

Layna felt her stomach turn as he spoke. She closed her eyes, unsure if she should speak. "Me...?" She whispered, her voice shaking. Her body seemed to shake too. "Me...." She repeated, grasping at the fact that Razu...loved her. "How long..." She said timidly, not opening her eyes.

Layna blinked once more before she laid back on the ground, her eyes wide as they stared upward. Such a long time... She thought with a sigh. ""Razu..." She murmured, covering her face with her hands. She grumbled something under her breath, and curled into a loose ball. An inevitable feeling swept through her. She couldn't resist what Razu was saying. He was offering her company she desperately needed, but she dared not say it aloud. What would he think of her? She had lost her mate, and now strived and hoped for another.
