(Enter from Main Island: Housing District)

Batsu had taken a small break from training and ran to the academy. It was where the boy suspected Akemi was. Luckilly for him, he was right. There the Hoshigaki was doing some training of his own. Batsu thought it best to stay a safe distance away to watch. He didn't want to disturb him and ultimately piss him off. The male human was there to make amends, not cause anymore drama.

Batsu casually walked over to a tree and stood under it with his right foot pressed against it. The boy stared and watched him train.

Akemi began to exit the Academy grounds, but he caught sight of Batsu. He began wrapping the wire around the spool before putting it in his bag. "What the ******** do you want you ungrateful meatsack ... no, your worse than a meatsack, to call you that would mean you might have a heart in that poorly protected chest of yours, I've have a mind to cave it in and check." He walked right past Batsu and said, "Unless we're going on a mission don't bother me, I don't have time to hang around chum, I've got training to do." He sped up his pace and headed towards the housing district.

Batsu just stood in his spot and took the verbal beating. After all, he pretty much deserved it. Being an absolute jerk to someone who was trying to be nice wasn't exactly "friend-of-the-year-material" anyways. But now Akemi was running away before an apology was given and Batsu had a lesson to finish with Natsumi aater on, and he didn't have time to play cat and mouse right now. So, Batsu kicked off the tree, turned towards Akemi and shouted at him. "AKEMI, I'M SORRY!" The boy didn't care who heard him when he yelled, he just wanted one thing... forgiveness.

Mizuiro was staring at the new guy right in the eyes, even if he wasn't being looked at. He was waiting for a name, and wouldn't say his own until he heard one. He asked first, he didn't care about who is older, or what ever. He found it rude that he didn't get the answer he wanted, so just waited until he got one.

Nothing could distract him. Nothing.

It seemed like the Hoshigaki was oddly reticent or something. Well, couldn't look down on the unfortunate in society. Or maybe it was a family trait. After all, Hiru had just been... odd in all ways. Akemi had seemed to talk all right though. OK, enough with the pretense. Andou could actually tell what game Mizuiro was playing, but he was having way too much fun trolling him. So he turned to observe his students again. Kuri was practising transitions which was actually quite an intelligent thing to do. Too many times academy students just tried to cram the configurations into their brains. At least he was applying the knowledge somewhat. Andou would have to keep an eye on this boy... He didn't appear to need Andou's help though so he just left him at that.

He returned to his wire, of course keeping note of Mizuiro all the while, except not overtly. The same amount of chakra was still pulsating around it and Andou wondered how he could improve it. He had surrounded the wire as much chakra as he could without literally overflowing it with chakra. He supposed that even now, chakra specialists would be able to see his chakra so he decided to try to make it even less obvious by putting a layer of muting chakra over it. Was that the right way to go.

Create a thin layer of chakra around your metal string. It should be thin enough to be almost unnoticeable until it's too late.

Akemi stopped in his tracks and turned around, "Damn right you are, and I feel sorry for you to." After what he had done not all to long ago Akemi would leave Batsu's actions to show how apologetic he truly was, not just his words. He said one more thing before he left to clarify that. "Mom used to say that words are like a new dagger, pretty, but able to cut deep. Actions however are the hand that holds that dagger and give it the ability to cut deeper. Your words don't mean anything to me Batsu, because tomorrow your emotional roller coaster will land you elsewhere. Show me that your sorry and I'll believe it, but for now your word is worth nothing to me." He turned and left the academy.

So much for Akemi's so-called maturity. As far as Batsu was concerned, if Akemi was even half the man he was, then the two would talk the situation out. That right there proved to him that the entire spill that the Hoshigaki went through in the grove was a blatant lie. No one did any growing up, even though he talked a good game. No matter, Batsu proved that he was more mature then Akemi ever was by admitting that he was truly sorry for what he said back then ... and to make matters worse for Akemi, people in the academy caught a glimpse of the boy's immaturity.

Batsu was done with Akemi's crap. The boy turned back to the tree and pulled out a kunai knife. In its bark, he carved Akemi's name. The boy then took that same knife and drew a slash straight through the name. At that moment, Batsu decided to cut all ties with Akemi. To signify this, he took the same knife he used to write on the tree and through it into the ground. He then turned and headed back to Natsumi's house.

Mizuiro picked his nose and flicked the booger at the new guy. Never back down, never surrender. That is what Mizuiro was about, heck, that disease he had normally killed young Hoshigaki. He was just going to tell this person his name, considering the teacher always introduces themselves first.

He waited, and waited, and waited...

((Time to do some roleplaying, damnit! Wis training?))

It became difficult for Kuri to concentrate on the task at hand due to all the yelling, namecalling, and all around childishness around him. Gently, he set the book down beside him and stood up, walking towards the tree that he had just seen Batsu carve the other pain in the a**' name into. He stopped to look at it, shaking his head before bending down to pick up the knife. "So much for having positive role models . . . from what I can see, Andou-sensei is the one person in this village I can look up to." Kuri sighed as he cleaned the dirt off the blade by wiping it on his pants.

"That one kid was so annoying, I can understand this boy's problem with him," he started as he pried the knife under a hunk of bark that bore the name Akemi. He peeled it off, then kept peeling strips away, one by one. "But to do this . . . to completely separate himself from his comrade like this. It's sad. Bridges burnt too soon will just get you marooned."
Kuri's words of wisdom weren't exactly the greatest, but he was just a kid. You have to admit it is slightly profound.

"And you . . . " Kuri chuckled, peeling the last bit of bark away before putting the kunai in his pouch. He turned now to talk the new arrival who was bothering Andou. "It is rude to ask one's name before offering your own. If you long so much for something to call him; call him sensei. Now. My name is Saihoushi Kuriarare. May I please have the pleasure of knowing yours?" Kuri's tone went from stern to friendly in mid sentence, a friendly smile occupying his face. as he extended his hand in greeting to Mizuiro. He figured if he could get the boy to introduce himself, Andou would indulge the boy with his own name.

"Hello." He said to the other new guy while still looking at Andou.

" . . . I don't like you . . ." was all Kuri could say to Mizuiro's response. He made some huge fanfare about introducing ones self, and then he still refuses to do so himself. Rather then fuel the boy's arrogance, Kuri chose to ignore the problem until Andou set the kid straight.

He walked back to his spot again to take another jab at chakra molding. He had a whole collection of new seals to try with it, and he was determined to broaden his limits. First he decided to try Hebi, to see if he had any affinity for Douton. He folded his hands, interlocking his fingers to form the Snake seal. Rather than feel the normal feeling he had when he molded his chakra, Kuri felt heavy, burdened, as if there was a huge weight on his shoulders. He stopped, knowing the seal was completely going against him. He might end p hurting himself if he tried to use it for very long.

Chakra Molding
Roll: 19 + Chakra Control [-1] = 18 woot!
DC: 9
Successes: 8/10
Special: -1 Cp per post.
CP: 1/3

Kuri bounced up and down, trying to get rid of the extra weight he felt after his last go with Hebi. He decided to go down the list and try Inu: the Dog with his chakra molding in hopes that, like Tori, the seal would augment his abilities. He balled his left hand into a fist and covered it with his right palm, creating the Dog, as he mixed his energies into one another. He felt a warmth all throughout his body, his heart pumping faster like it had before. The feeling was so overwhelming, Kuri forgot all about his failures, and all about the kids who were bugging him. All he could think of was the task at hand, and how amazing it felt.
