"My other arguement is that it'll happen either way. and if it happens from you, it'll be quicker, cleaner, and I'll even bring your shiny swag I can plunder from the ship. and I'm not bribing you with your sight. You don't believe it can be done, that's fine, the options there. maybe you could barter for something else. whatever you might want. but the offers there."

A slight grin.

"So he's like your other friend, only male."

Still keeping the gun aimed at the two of them.

"So I'm asking for your assistance in this endeavor, so that you can spare some time and some considerable pain to a crew of sailors that are on thier last voyage."

Well there was something he hadn't even thought and would be highly useful right now to the city. "I haven't heard anything on them, but then again Negiphten had been rather busy himself. I'll make sure I check with him soon as I get back." That was one less worry if such things turned out well and good. Watching his son's body language he monitored things. "That's to be expected...and handled as best as can be. Which I take it...that's what your decision making is about that was mentioned? Anything other than pirates and Riders?" Tilting his head lightly with a light smile, "As Koto tells me...I'm an old dragon who doesn't believe anything his eyes don't see. And as I've been told...there's some questioning going on that's good for no one, and answers always solve those kinds of problems."

If there was one thing Kelligrin Inthara could not stand it was a man threatening and manhandling a woman. His mother and father both had taught him very strongly about that and he enjoyed women on occasion. Not like his brother but nobody enjoyed women like his older brother. "Stop this at once." Needless to say, Kelligrin was also trained in taking a man down without their knowledge and in a matter of moments he had Hunter on the deck, his boot shoved against the human's throat and the pistol that was in his hand, now aimed at his heart. "Now, that's quite enough from you." Turning to Savryn with a quirk of an eyebrow. "Well, Vryn? Going to sacrifice lives for a reason other than a human's greed? Human power can't be trusted, you fool. It is taken and given in unnatural ways and never without a hand out for something in return. Disgusting."

He understood tag all too well and thought she would too. It took her a little less time than he'd like but when she did catch him, he conceded his loss. "Aw, now I'm it." Frowning at her before mimicking her action. "You dunno what tag is? It's a game, see. I touch you with my tail and then run and you chase me. And when you catch me then you run and I chase you until I catch you. See?"

"Either way it split in half." Laughing uproariously at that one. "And since no one else wanted the job, I got it. I changed enough things to keep the girls. They were quite tired of the old lady before me. And now, I keep them happy with plenty of food and drink and I still get my due."
PostPosted: Tue Apr 08, 2008 10:17 pm

She thought for a moment, processed...watching him....and then lifted her tail and tapped him with it, quickly pivoting on the balls of her feet and scampering off. "Tag you're it!" Okay so this was just like basic maneuvers she had learned. Catch and flee.

“I don’t with to make deals with anyone but you, and only you because you are at this point in time the one whom I can benefit most from…at least until other opportunities come along.” Scoffing and shaking her head…Kelligrin and Shyrae were hardly alike. After all, Kelligrin was as she said like fleas…once he was around it was almost impossible to make him leave. Hm…did Kelligrin know what a pistol was? She hadn’t when she had come here…his big mouth could be getting him shot. However a step back at the sounds of scuffling and Chylithair's further agitation.

“Let me tell you this, Captain. A necromancer I may be, but I am not your personal death dealer, got it? I don’t kill for the sheer joy of it and I will not kill upon your word or against my own codes…you always speak highly of codes don’t you? I will sink that ship in the next thirty minutes, but I’m not taking responsibility for a herd of pirates that I can’t handle. If you truly are trying to go the compassionate route, which I doubt but am turning a cheek to anyway, and such things as painful dying occur, I’ll start with the death delivering for mercy's sake. Agreeable?”

And looking up at his gun, and at the elf, though wearing a slight grin on his face...not that he figured the elf knew what a pistol did, but was lightly tapping his cutlass against Kelligrin's inner thigh, whiel getting some pressure off his neck with his hand.

"Agreeable. they'll be hitting a hard reef. ship will go down, hit the quicksand, prolly one or two will get sucked down ina few moment and the pressure will snap them like horseshoe crabs."

glancing up at Kelligrin, but directing his question to Sav.

"Ever wanted this friend of yours to sing soprano?"

He so badly wanted to laugh. Just like a human making assumptions that had no bearing on the situation whatsoever. And just because he was having such a good time, he decided to let the human think he'd actually managed to do something. "You and I are both aware that a lead bullet would be through your heart before you could even flick your wrist to slice, human." He was rather pleased with Savryn's response though this power still seemed a little uncertain. "What deal did you make with him, Vryn?"

"Hey! That's not...oh, you come back here!" Technically it was fair and he knew it and so he took off after her, ducking around the adults and not paying a lick of attention to what was going on. He finally wrapped his arms around her to hold her and tapped his tail then ran again. "Now you're it again!" Pausing a moment as he skidded to a stop, wrinkled his nose and sneezed. And promptly had his dragon feet which stumbled him up.

If she could see what was going on...she would probably be amused in some fashion. "Crushed to death? That's hardly enjoyable...I know I've asked around." Quirking an eyebrow as to her that was a strange question. "Soprano? That's one type of sound he doesn't need to be making." Apparently though it dealt with knives and pistols because Kelligrin was being condescending about humans...which frankly was bravo to him on that. "A deal that's yet to be cemented in any way. He wants my compass, exclusively." Crossing her arms. "Though he knows I'm still wary to deal with him...what after that framing and all, eh Deacon?"

His sudden changing had her coming to a stop...this was something she'd never seen before...now he was more dragon than he was both but not all the way dragon. What? Crouching down she sniffed at him some as hands reached out to dragon paws to touch and see if they were real. "Bad change?" All she could come up with.

He knew everyone was probably busy, fending off the constant barrage of natural disasters was more than the city could handle. And yet, he was out here. With no clear battle plan and pushed to make some uninformed decisions too. Nodding back though, he returned eyes to his father's face. "That seems to be all we deal with nowadays. We rescued a Rider dragon too... Her Rider was killed but the pirates were convinced to spare her life. And then the Laerethe helped Jae and I gain extra protection from them by instructing us through a scent ritual, I think that's what it's called. But even that isn't permanent." A pause followed by a light sigh. "I dislike not having a routine. What questioning are you talking about? Who did you hear that from?"

"Well...you and your lot are making strides. You just don't see them as useful to the original plan. But some plans have to go down several seemingly unuseful paths before they start making sense. Then all that's happened just sort of falls into place." Cue the vague look of surprise across his features at his son's information. "You did what with Jaebelltiah?" That was...potentially hazardous to both young dragons. Though he was mentioning it wasn't permanent so things must of not finished out as instinct intended. Was that a blessing or not? "Are you planning on doing it again?" Because what wasn't permanent, many looked to renew. But he gave his son a clap on the back in that comforting way. "You'll get the hang of it. And from Sylin, more or less about Jaebelltiah. Old dragons know lots of things son. Besides...I know there must be questions in your own head, among other worries."

Okay. black elf knew about firearms. That meant that he knew what he could do with it. but that didn't matter too much, now did it.

"Come now, you're not going to keep holding the distant past over my head, are you? no harm done, you're still freely walking about, and I got what I wanted in the end, so what's the use of getting our feathers still ruffled on that?"

keeping his eyes on the black elf.

"Think you have it in you to use that pistol? I count at least one full crew, maybe one extra planar being, and one, at least, dragon that would be quite upset with you. willing to see how good your skills really are by pulling the trigger?"

a slight smirk.

"So you can take your boot away from me now and hand me back my property or maybe we'll see how good you really are compared to how good you think you are."

"And that's what matters. getting your just due. So how many of the girls know about your involvement in this resistance thing? any of them signed on to it themselves? I mean seems kind of...dangerous to keep them in the dark or trust them, seeing as how you have things going with the Riders. wouldn't want any of them saying something they shouldn't."

Taking another drink and keeping a careful eye on how drunk her sister might be getting. though also getting some more snack food as well. free food that wasn't shipbound and prepared for such was nice after all.

"I'm not worried about the commander. I'm sure he deals with stress a lot more often then you do. probably has a better handle on it. and as for you being uninteresting, I find that's hardly the case. if anything, you provide interest since you have a view into a ships workings now and with your knack for tinkering and strategy, you can provide an interesting insight as to an outsider's viewpoint. improvements, advantages, disadvantages. I take pride in this ship, as much as the Captain."

settling back abit.

"I may not be as..personable at Gem's first mate, but I do like to keep the ship running smooth. So why don't we use that as a topic. tell me how you see life on a pirate ship, and lets see lets see if there's any leeway to make improvements on conditions and perceptions. "

He blinked up at her from the deck where he'd faceplanted a second ago and sniffled. He hated it when he did that. His tail twitched slightly as she touched him and he wrapped his arms around her waist and buried his head in her stomach. He didn't understand what she was asking either but was more concerned about his comfort. "Huh?"

Kelligrin snorted and ground his heel into Hunter's throat so he couldn't speak. "That's enough from you." Back to Savryn. "A deal not completed is not a deal at all. Word must be given by both parties or it's as if it never happened." Frowning at Savryn and then shaking his head. "Framing? I'll warn you human, I don't live by the rules most do. And if you harm Savryn or Shyrae ever again, rules won't matter in the least and neither will your false sense of security." Releasing Hunter's throat slightly so he could breathe and talk if he wanted to.

If Mona was waiting for Brishana to get drunk and tell her something off the wall, she was wasting her time. The only secret Brishana was keeping was about the uprising which she'd told without the need to be plastered. "I've decided to wait until there is actually something to join. Both dragons and humans can help but the last thing I want is a premature discovery. If they don't know, then they might be safe."

And she was being cuddled on. Apparently that bad change upset him and he was looking for comfort. Petting lightly between his horns, she wrapped her arms around him comfortingly, wrapping her tail and wings around him as well. She was a dragoness after all, and comfort was indeed part of her instinct based self. "You had bad change."

"I'm a grudge holder." Waving a hand dismissively at the both of them as they were bargining with each other in that tough manly fashion that she didn't understand why they did it anyway. Though she supposed it was nice that Kelligrin was trying to be noble on her part...not that she needed anyone to take care of her. "Come now men, we're wasting time. I have what, twenty minutes now? Enough." Stepping away from them and giving a whistle to call her horse.

Oh so apparently he wanted...ship advice? Well that was a new one. "Well...life on a pirate ship is anything but comfortable save for those that have been doing it all their lives. Personally I find there's a few storage problems that could be easily solved with some wood working. Frankly I don't think dragon-folk were cut out for it unless the ship is specially modified. We don't sleep in hammocks and such so well as humans and elves might. And you know...you could do well to keep like...a chicken on board. Or at least that makes sense to me..." This really was not her area...was she even making sense?

"Who said it's false. I know these sands better than you, and I know my allies better than you. and I haven't hurt anyone of those. a little framing, a few ours in a prison cell. no more or less."

Before moving out from under Kelligrin's boot.

"Now if you'll excuse me, I have chum to throw out into the sands."

Before he went off the ship and moved toward the other, putting on his best charming good smile and the I'm honest and friendly gait and look to himself, and getting on board the smaller ship and handing over some charts and making sure that they were well convinced that the dangers of the reef, mismarked as it was, were worth the chests of treasure from a previous ship's misfortune.

Desdemona nodded lightly.

"Good idea. better to keep them in the dark then to risk them exposing you."

taking another drink and eatting some more meat.

"What kind of wood working are you thinking about? any added storage would be nice to have. and what do you mean by a chicken. live stock on a ship might be nice but you think it'd be worth the cost of keeping it alive?"
PostPosted: Thu Apr 10, 2008 11:18 pm

No, he didn't understand any better the second time she said it but it was the comfort he wanted and needed. Keeping his face firmly pressed against her tummy, he hugged her tightly and then nuzzled the same spot as well. "I'm okay. Just got a little boo-boo." At least he thought it was little. Focusing on his feet, he managed to make them shift back to hte normal human feet but he'd lost his boots. Hmm...

"I know it's false." Watching him squirm away, Kelligrin was rather reminded of a worm attempting to wriggle towards it's intended target just before it was stomped on or cut in half. Half of him would still wriggle though, barely alive but wriggling away. "Lies will get your throat cut when before the sun sinks below the horizon," he muttered and then shook his head. "Try not to let too many of them die, Vryn. You claim mercy killing. Hold true to your word."

Father was right, as always but being out here seemed to have tightened his focus on certain things. "We don't have time to wait for things to fall into place though... Sylin told me the city isn't faring so well, still dealing with quakes and such. We need the shards as soon as possible." A blink though when the old dragon sounded surprised at the course of action he had taken. Wasn't the ritual as old as time and something that all dragons did? "We marked each other with scent, offering extra protection against the Rider dragons since we are in their territory. I'm not sure if we will... Is it not a good idea, father?" Frowning again as he wondered if father was angry with him for doing it. "I don't think Jae has questions, but she is upset. She thinks she is a Rider dragon... Apparently even the Laerethe reaffirmed her conclusions. I don't understand it."
