Chakra Molding

Psyched that he was so successful with the Bird seal, he was excited still to figure out how his chakra would react when channeled with the Boar. Now that he knew he could do it now with his eyes open, he didn't bother to close them, though he still visualized the two energies mingling together. He simultaneously twisted his hands so that his fingers pointed down, and curled his fingers inwards and brought his hands together, instantly forming the Boar seal as he focused his chakra. With it came no special feeling, just the usual tingle that he felt with the tiger seal.

His life buzz started to fade when he realized that the Boar was a dud for him. Sure, he was able to focus his chakra with it, but it was no more potent than normal.

Both a bit disappointed, and at his limit yet again, Kuri decided to take a break from chakra molding gain and start to look at more handseals. The next one he decided to tackle was U: The Rabbit. He remembered from his flip through that U had ties to Raiton as well as Tori, and he thoght that maybe, just maybe, that could be an element he had a certain kinship with. He flipped to the page and tried to mimic the picture, but just couldn't seem to get it. It was difficult to make out some of the positions.

In the matter of a few minutes, Kuri's attitude turned around quick. He became frustrated with the rabbit seal, and even though he was really curious as to how it would react with his chakra, he decided it would be best to try a different one instead. He flipped to the next page to find yet another difficult one, though it was tough for a different reason. O-uni: The Ox. The fingering was obvious for this one, but it was just an awkward pattern. He locked his fingers together the way he saw in the picture, but something just felt wrong, something he couldn't put his finger on.

[13] +20 = 33 Pass
Akemi nodded to the shinobi with no headband and went about his business, transferring the cold, steel, wire to his other hand and stretching it out as the glow once again returned to it. He murmured beneath his breath and said, "I oughta use this wire to strangle Batshit when he ain't looking. Not to kill him or anything, just to give him a good scare. Could be fun."

[8] +20 = 28 Pass
The glow faded and Akemi looked around, still trying to be quiet he continued to complain. "Seriously, for a C rank Jutsu this is to easy, maybe I should find myself a nice B ranked jutsu or something, hell at this rate an A rank might be better for me." He pulled the wire tight again and held it before his eyes, the glow returned again as he fed his chakra into it, and yet again it faded as he dropped it. "Damn ... I seriously just want to pound something into the floor right now." He looked around as he realized that he had said that in his regular voice.

[17] +20 = 37 Pass
Akemi started to walk further away from the ninja without a headband and his student, holding the wire up and watching it glow as he walked away, blowing the hair from his eyes in boredom of the new jutsu already. He was ready to just start cutting down trees already, that was the whole reason he was learning this shitty jutsu, mission efficiency and possibly a nice interrogation tool. He could cut locks, trees, people, food, rock, anything, and with his large chakra pool it would only get better.

Kuri was getting frustrated, which never led to a good learning environment. He set the book down beside him and stood up, taking a deep breath. He practiced the two seals he already knew for a moment before stopping at the boar seal, churning his energies together, trying to mold his chakra again. But he felt nothing, not he tingling he got last time, or the synergy he felt with the Bird. Just plain nothing.
He was starting to get fed up with not being able to perform anymore. He was stuck in some strange rut that he couldn't figure out.

In an attempt, to break out of his rut, Kuri decided to try the thing that he did the best with. He would try to mold his chakra again with the Bird seal. The feeling he got last time was sure to cheer him up to feel it again, and maybe he would concentrate better if he were less annoyed, if only he can get past that first bump.
He closed his eyes again and took a deep breath for that extra oomph, and pressed his hands together in the Tori, molding his energies together, folding them into one another just like his mother had once taught him, and just as he had practiced all day since Andou had given him the assignment.
He exhaled as he felt a familiar tingling in his fingers before the feeling subsided, switching to the serenity he felt last time he molded using Tori. He smiled, letting out a little satisfied chuckle before breaking the seal. On that note of success, he decided it would be alright to try those pesky hand seals again. He took a seat back against the wal yet again and picked up the book, studying the different seals intently.

[7] +20 = 27 Pass
Akemi found a more secluded area and looped the wire around his hand once and held it up again, watching as the glow returned to the wire again and smiling, this was all coming to him to naturally with his large chakra pool. He released again and watched as the chakra dissipated. he would have to do it a few more times still.

[13] +20 = 33 Pass
Once more Akemi fed chakra into the wire as the blue glow set brilliantly in the dim shadow of the building. He laughed a little as he cut off the feed and returned it, making a strobe effect. Perhaps this could later be developed into a chainsaw like effect. Akemi began to think about how he would test the jutsu out during the next phase of the training.

[6] +20 = 26 Pass
The strobing light faded and returned as a solid glow again as Akemi once more fed his chakra into the wire. He began thinking through a list of materials to test out the wire on. "Paper, wood, stone, iron, steel, and maybe samehadamaka? If it can cut through my blade I'll need to rethink my strategy and compensate for the weakness."

[4] +20 = 24 Pass (Barely)
The glow faded as Akemi completed his list. Once more oughtta do it. He fed his chakra into the wire, and it glowed briefly before snapping from the pressure. This seemed like a good time to master the second part of the jutsu, strengthening the chakra feed on the wire, but for that he needed materials, so he would go to his house again to finish the jutsu.

Still slightly weirded out by Akemi's behaviour, but too polite to comment (or rather not hypocritical enough, since Andou was a pretty weird dude), Andou returned to his desk to continue with his experimentation. He infused the wire again, trying to figure out where he went wrong. He wanted to get it exactly like that Kumo kunoichi but was beginning to recognise that it might be a futile effort. She was probably much more skilled than him at chakra control. Maybe he should just stop when what he deemed to be the proper standard was reached.

He glanced at Saihoushi working diligently all the while. He was one of the more hardworking students Andou had had over the years... by this point, most would have just given up and gotten angry or sunk into a rather self-destructive cycle of "I can't do it". The Hoshigaki had left the room, but when he had been there he had been displaying excellent chakra control in learning the same jutsu Andou was himself working on now. Again, Andou reminded himself that he didn't have to be better than genins at everything (although he really should).

"You might find some of the hand seals hard to learn at first,"
he told Kuri. "Even the easy looking ones might actually be very specific in position. The only advice I can give at this point is that different positions work for different people. By this I mean that everybody's Tiger seal is different, just a bit. And so on. Just wiggle your fingers around and pay close attention to the chakra within you." He smirked, as if laughing at his own (unapparent) joke.

(Enter from Main Island: Housing District)

Batsu had taken a small break from training and ran to the academy. It was where the boy suspected Akemi was. Luckilly for him, he was right. There the Hoshigaki was doing some training of his own. Batsu thought it best to stay a safe distance away to watch. He didn't want to disturb him and ultimately piss him off. The male human was there to make amends, not cause anymore drama.

Batsu casually walked over to a tree and stood under it with his right foot pressed against it. The boy stared and watched him train.

CP: 2/3

Feeling revitalized by his success, Kuri was ready to continue. Hefigured he might as well start with the seal he had known even before he started at the academy, the one his mother had taught him, Kami rest her. He flipped to the page with Tora: the Tiger. The book stated that Tora was the most basic of the hand seals, lending its power to all of the elements. That explained why he didn't get any special feeling like with Tori. After reading through the text, he formed the seal on his first try, not quite spectacular since he had already known the seal before, but oh well.
Roll: 13

His confidence restored, Kuri flipped backward a couple pages to Inu - the Dog. The seal looked like the easiest he had seen so far, as there was no interlocking of the fingers, no special flexing, no tricks. The seal was as simple as a tight palm over a balled fist, as if you were to play a game of Janken(Rock-Paper-Scissors) with himself. He curled his left hand into a fist and covered it with his right hand, a pointed palm. Then he tried switching his hands in order to see which one felt more natural. Apparently, it was the first.
Now that he had learned two more of the seals, he decided to practice the transitions, going from Inu to Ousa-Buta to Tori to Tora. Then he tried a more complex combination. From Tora, to Inu, to Tori, to Ousa-Buta. The change was a bit awkward at first, but he did a few more repetitions and different transitions until they all flowed smoothly.
Roll: 14

Once he was satisfied, Kuri decided to keep going, as he was on a roll. He flipped forward one page and found one that piqued his interest, Ryu: the Dragon. It seemed that Ryu had ties to suiton and Katon, among others. He had never considered suiton before, but the possibility was there. He eyed the fingering for a bit before a striking revelation hit him. He already knew this one too! Any child in the past few generations would recognize this seal. For all intents and purposes, Ryu was a slightly contrived version of "here is the church", a gimmick parents would use to incite laughter from an infant. Kuri considered that he was a bit too old to think of that anymore, but it was one of the few things his father did when he was a baby, and somehow, the memory stuck. He formed the seal on his first try yet again, crossing his thumbs both ways to see which felt more comfortable.

Mizuiro had been sick with some kind of fishy disease that caused him to feel and smell very rotten, but he was okay now.
He wanted to get back into training, but noticed some new people. He walked over to this new older chap, and walked right up to Andou, who he didn't know was Andou, but he did walk up to him.
"Who the hell are you?"

Andou had just settled back into his inspection of the wire as Mizuiro walked up. He was also a pretty prototypical Hoshigaki, a lot smaller than Akemi that was for sure. Kind of like Hiru, but a much meaner version. Andou rolled his eyes as he recalled the antics of his wackiest student.

"Who am I?" he echoed Mizuiro, smirk still on his face. "The question, I believe, is who are you. Quote not your name to the raging bull," Andou said in the stereotypical public services broadcast voice, perfect down to the vocal inflexion. It seemed like his quotes were making less and less sense... which they were.

Feeling confident due to his more recent spark of inspiration, Kuri decided to try the seals that he couldn't figure out earlier. He started with Usagi: the Rabbit. After messing around with the fingering a few moments though, he realized he still didn't understand it. Rather than keep trying and get frustrated again, he flipped the page. He would try Usagi and O-ushi once he had perfected the others, that way he could thoroughly concentrate on them.
Roll: 8

"The Monkey, huh? Seems easy enough." Kuri muttered as he cupped his palms slightly and lay them on top of each other as shown in the picture of Saru: the Monkey. He read the book's entry on the seal, nothing having piqued his interested. He added Saru to his transition practices and took a while to practice before moving on.
Roll: 14

The next on the list was Hebi: the Snake. The positioning was once again remarkably simple. Kuri read that the seal had explicit ties to douton, as snakes shared the utmost kinship with the earth. He clasped his hands together, his fingers in perfect mesh. He was finally over half way done with learning the hand seals. Kuri felt a certain sense of accomplishment that would only be topped by actually finishing.
